Do you have access to another large DMD display to swap out? A friend maybe? Reason is, this way you can make sure your issues are all at the dmd itself and not scattered around. It would stink to go through the hassle of repairing the DMD only to then find out you have a power board issue or display rom issues, etc.
Quoted from Pin_-_K:Lynn @ VISHAY called me back today -- GOOD NEWS !!
They are still taking on DMD Plasma Repairs and they are still manufacturing Plasma DMD's for retail sales.
FYI they also make LED DMD's in multiple colors.
Should I start a new thread titled VISHAY / DALE DMD's Still Being Repaired ?
Current Repair Prices:
192 x 64 $180.92
128 x 32 $86.53
128 x 16 NLA - Balance of 128 x 16 parts & stock bought out by MAD Amusements

Only caveat I will toss out there is they they ONLY Repair VISHAY, VISHAY/DALE or DALE Plasma Displays - if you have a Babcock, Cherry or anything else they won't Repair it.
Or spend a little more and get a whole new color display kit from DMD Extender or SmartDMD for about $250.
That resistor is in the power circuit, It’s on the 24v side of the step up transformer. I Don’t think that’s the real problem. But still should be replaced.
The question is why did that 200 ohm resistor go Bang?
Look closely at all electrolytic capacitors, see if they are bulging or signs of leaking.
Or do what Crash is suggesting, its a good option.
Is the price really $250 for those options? I thought they were closer to $400. If the prices came down that much I may even have to start upgrading to the color options!
Yeah if you buy the recommended parts listed in my build threads. ColorDMD, which is a kit, is $400. I wouldn't recommend going that route since a kit is not currently available and the consensus is they will not be developing color animations for these large screen Sega games.
