I really enjoy playing my Baywatch. It's right next to my top machines like ToM, AfM, STTNG. For me it is an absolute keeper.
Hope you like the shark mod with its blue blinking led eyes. Was quite time consuming to get them in. End result looks great. Love my Barbie buoy with led insert too lol.

Thanks for the info. Finding problems in pinballs is like a detective game, the most likely suspect is not always the culprit.

Baywatch is much more challenging than Wh2O. I got bored pretty quickly but not with my Baywatch.

I have a couple of new Baywatch drop target plastics. The ones that always break.
Sell two of them for $30 or single one for $20.
Will ship worldwide for $3.50.Boat.jpgBoat.jpgBoat.jpgBoat.jpg

I finally found a reasonably priced Baywatch floaty which will become my new illuminated topper. Much nicer than that yellow double mode sign.

Quoted from iEatHands:

I love my Baywatch!
I've been over my machine replacing all the lights which were out and I've only got one remaining. The launch button, it is shown in the lamp matrix but isn't working but for the life of me can't figure out how to get in there! Can anyone give me some tips? I got to the point I removed the switch but twisting and pulling couldn't remove the plastic which holds the switch, is it even serviceable or do you have to buy a new switch?

The switch will seperate from the button. It requires quite a bit of force and the first time I did it I thought I am going to break it. You have to pull it apart and when pushing it back in you will hear a click sound. We all have been there. If it breaks buy a new one but they rarely do.

I have one of those floats too. One of the best topper ideas ever! Working on inserting some led strips inside it.

Sorry. Trying again. Does anyone have a scan or could anyone please scan the boat plastic over the shooter lane?
Mine has a melted plastic from a hot solenoid. I can't seem to find the plastic anywhere.
Thank you.

Send me your email and I send you a higj res photo of it.

I am a big fan of home made toppers but I think you have to "refine" it a little more. I would only use the boat. I always thought the boat looked great as a topper. Maybe you can install some leds inside the hull as a feature.

#707 7 years ago

I made this topper with a 6V white led strip inside and some home made brackets.

I did look for one on eBay but no luck...... I think it looks cool. I like how it's tied to the flashers.

No it is actually hooked up to the GI circuit.

I am sure that is just cardboard designed to make it look good for sale. It will come off easily. Underneath the cardboard it is just like mine. BTW I painted the Baywatch letters with yellow acrylic paint. It normally is just moulded in raised letters onto the float and is not very visible.

Quoted from aerobert:

Lady luck is shining. I put out a buy ad and managed to get a completely shopped machine. Everything disassembled and cleaned. New mechs, coils, side rails, glass, rebuilt power supply, 5V and new GI connectors. No wear, it had very few plays.
And...home delivery from Norway since he was driving further south to Sweden anyway.
2200 USD, super excited to share my luck.
Sold my RFM to make room, but those are easy to find in the future if ever want one again.

That's a great deal! I have all the spare parts ready to do a full restoration on mine one day.

I have have bought the rom programmer

ebay.com link: 711 53200 19255 0

and some spare 27C512 chips (28 pin).
I just need some advise on how to progress.
I have followed the Pinballcode.com instructions. Downloaded and extracted the original Baywatch rom and the patch.
It says:
3. Run Lunar IPS, click Apply IPS Patch and follow instructions. I assume I choose BAYWATCH-CPU-401-patch as the patch to apply. Nothing really happens when I do that? The only difference is that there is a heart visible before the file name. Is there anything else I have to do? I can not see any new file being created?
Sorry I have never done this before so not sure how it should be done.
What file do I burn onto the rom? Just the patch?
I would appreciate some help.

Quoted from sudsy7:

Mine are blue and they look way better than brass, but that's my opinion and not in any way a foregone conclusion. LOL.

I'm sitting on the fence regarding blue ramps. They certainly look better when compared to old brass ramps were the brass has been rubbed off. And it is so much cheaper to power coated them blue instead of re-brassing them. But shiny fully brassed ramps look pretty awesome!

Quoted from sudsy7:

Here's an even better solution for the side lighting. Use 5v LED light strips and then you just need the bridge rectifier to clip to a GI socket for power.
ebay.com link » 5v 5050 60smd M Rgb Led Strip Light Bar Tv Back Lighting Kit Usb Remote Control
or
ebay.com link » 5v 1m 2m 3m 5m Usb 60led M Cable Power Led Strip Light Tape Warm Cool White
and
ebay.com link » 1n4007 Bridge Rectifier Ac To Dc Power Converter Full Wave Circuit Board Cb507

Here is even an easier solution. Straight 6V LED strips in different colours. Simply hook up/solder to GI socket. No bridge rectifier needed. Strips can be cut down to as few as 3 leds.

I just picked up a baywatch and would like to clean the wireforms without removing the plating, any suggestions? I bought brasso but earlier recommendations seemed to point away from that. Thanks.
John

There is not much you can do. As soon as you use anything similar to Brasso you will remove the little brass coating that is left. Re-brassing followed by clear coating is ultimately the only thing to do.

This sounded like it would really add ambiance to the playfield, so I added sand being careful to keep it out of all ball paths. Then the very next game I played I nudged the game with my hip to avoid a drain and sand went everywhere. I should have just gone with adding some palm trees.
Then I woke up and was glad that had all just been in my dreams.

Hahahaha love it!

Neat idea. Is the artwork made from adhesive vinyl? That's going to look awesome in the machine.

Wow, 8 years!
Which RAL did you use to powder coat your trims? Did the color matchs the cabinet?
Thanks

I honestly don't know. The powder coater showed me a picture of toy tractor he did in that blue lol. It looked perfect and I said go ahead. When I got it the trim back it matched the cabinet colour perfectly. I guess I was lucky!

It's my dumb ass fault because I left Baywatch parts sitting on a box on top of the dog kennel. Well, this is what happens when you are waiting for parts and didn't plan ahead before taking a game apart.

At least it wasn't a ramp or swallowed pinball. Luckily Pinball Haus had a replacement in stock. While at it, I picked up some decals. I hope my Cliffy's come in soon!

Quoted from RyanStl:

Now fun post. Thank goodness Pinball Haus had the plastic my dog chewed up that unproperly stored about his kennel. While ordering I got their stand up target decal kit and coin door sticker. I prefer the sega w/ sonic sticker, but it's hard to find, so while ordering the plastic I just went with Pinball Haus' version. There is one circle Baywatch sticker similar to the two on the laser kick stand ups, but larger that my son and I can't figure out where it goes. I'm very happy the decal kit. (sorry for glass-on pics, but I didn't want to take it back off and just want to relax now for the night.)
