Happy new owner of that players condition baywatch.

Already fixed couples of issues while setting it up and love it.

I find them game really dark in some spots,
I will look at light mods for sure.

Also have the left slingshot ghost poping with left flipper action and it's not really responsive when I manually close the switches, I'll inspect it.

I'm amazed a how those Sega playfield are holding up, almost no ware on a 30 year old machine.

I want to light that tower that's for sure.

congradulations, the playfield looks to be in really great shape! Have you tried gapping the switch on the left sling? Maybe too close?

yep, that is fixed now, switch were all bent and warped

It's hard to stop working on my new BW..i have some work to do on it but i can't stop playing it LOL
the previous owner started a led conversion but was halfway, not sure what is used..
all the flashers are incandescent and half of them are burn.
the bulbs under the subway ramp have not been change, probably did not want to take it off..

i think a complete led kit would be better at that point and i can keep the ones already installed in my parts stash..

can you swap the flashers for leds or it's better to keep them original ?
i think i remember reading that these did not like leds in the flashers somewhere... ?

i dont want to forget some and i see 906 and 89 type used,
that list looks exact ?

My new to me baywatch had some hack done to the psu...

I'm trying to understand what was the purpose of that, a bunch of wires are connected together to a two pin plug that comes from the back of the psu..
Can i see some stock photos please of yours.?

Thanks

Welcome!! Just upon first glance at this, one of the GI connectors looks like it was fried and the astute individual working on this looks like they did some hacky gi merging. Does the gi work? All of it?
Also take a peek at this post and the few after it, you can see what is supposed to be in that fried connector location. I’ll shoot some pics when I am home
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/baywatch-clubmembers-only/page/96#post-7325434

yes, that is indeed the GI connector, all tangled to two wires, that connector gets super hot !
to make it worse, i think that hack bypass all the GI fuses also

#4854 1 year ago

So I redid both connectors.
Now I get there real effects
I didn't known the gi could flash like that!
Thé hack had the relay bypassed....
Love it now.

Thanks guys!

Ah shit, the person probably worked hard to get rid of the GI relay flash everyone hates. Too funny. Loving my EnerGI Meastro.

I think your just have to unplug cn7 and gi flashing stops.
I'm pretty sure the previous owner did that cause connectors were toasted.

He also had a fuse on wires soldered to the broken fuse clips....

#4861 1 year ago

Surprise surprise!
Look at that hack job I found while taking off the apron...

Side note...where can I find the Sega apron sticker?

I did a hack to repair a hack.
But mine is cleaner.
Old coil stop from a bally 80's pin.
Works like a charm, 32$ USD for the bracket + shipping to Canada + currency exchange...I said nope

So happy, that cost a fortune here in Canada...
Custom fees and shipping was 200$ alone....plus dmd that makes it a 940$ CAD...

But it's so pretty lol

Boot question.
Sometimes on first boot, I need to shut it off and back on a couples of times, the dmd stays black and it says "Baywatch will be right back"

When I get a proper boot, it only says "Baywatch will be" then dmd appears and I can play.

Sometimes, I need to keep trying until the dmd says open coin door, then all my settings are restored too default and I need to put it back in free play.

I'm guessing it's something with mpu 5 volt maybe?

Looking for some suggestions.

BTW batteries are brand new

Hey Bakchos. Have you done the service update on the 5v + gnd to the display board from the power board?
Many monitor reset issues stem from poor current or voltage. It’s amazing the connection literally has to be almost perfect.

Thanks, i will do it ASAP

So I took a look.
My 5v going to these display is coming from CN5, I just redid the molex and pin on the display side.

Had the same issue.
So I will swap the CN5 connection to the CN6 and report.
I will also redo the headers on the PPD board.
Some of the connectors are pretty brittle.

I have a full led kit coming so the load will be lower now.

I also did a little mod for fun, two 3mm leds un the lifeguard tower roof

Just want to say that I started swapping leds to comet matched kit to replace the cheap leds the previous owner had partially installed

And wow what a difference!

I have a 12v led warning light that I would like to add like a topper.
Using coil output number 15.
What would be an easy way to hook this up?

Hey guys, i have a question regarding the unofficial code 4.01,

that's what i am running and i recently added a Tiltaudio soundboard, but all my callouts are mixed up, nothing is like it is with stock sound board,
is that because the updated code callouts trigger are not like the original rom ?

#4947 1 year ago

When updating code to 4.01
Do you keep the stock sound rom?

Question on F6 fuse blowing,

i have been playing that machine for a good 6 months, never had issues,
Yesterday after a game, i went to my other pinball, then back to Baywatch but ball would not eject.
so i inspected the fuse and the 5A slow blo on F6 was busted, swapped for a new one and as soon as i hit the start button, pop fuse turns red and melts.

check all coils and nothing is stuck on.

Any idea what to look for ?

Thanks
