Quoted from Soulrider911:

Hey friends, I have been doing some searching and quickly realized that there are no decent designs for Baywatch cards. So I decided to go ahead and make some.
Here is the first pass.[quoted image]

I think that would make a good alternative translite ……

#4752 1 year ago

I'm going to give it a go and do some colorization work for Baywatch at the pin2dmd platform. I'm not entirely happy with the current unfinished look of it. Does anyone know where I can find the latest project files? (so I don't have to start from zero)

#4753 1 year ago
Quoted from Soulrider911:

I just rebuilt mine. It might be that the alignment of the coil is not hitting the ball in the center, and or the coil sleeve is swelled and sticking to the plunger. You can adjust the angle of the coil with the mounting screws.Hope that helps.

When I got the game it wasn't even screwed in. I took care of that, but it's probably loose. If I'm taking it apart, I may as well replace the sleeve.

Moved my Baywatch this weekend. Thanks for all the help club members!

I have an odd situation with the upper "skill shot" gate....or at least I think its odd!
Mine opens, only after the ball hits it, which you can imagine is too late. Has anyone else seen this problem?

thanks in advance.

I reckon you’ll find it opens and then closes again before the ball reaches it. Same happened on mine. The chad code fixes it by holding the gate open longer.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately Chad code is installed.

The unfortunate reality of most of the problems with the gate, after going through leveling and adjusting everything multiple times, is that they are almost always remedied by taking the mech apart and cleaning it/replacing the sleeve. Of course, that simple task requires basically a full top side tear down to access it. You can "almost" access and remove it from under the playfield, but my bear paws couldn't fit in there. I look at it as an excuse to freshly shop the game.

Isn't it on the Pin2DMD repository?

Finally arrived! Also got 2 Backbox warning decals: one blue, and one black as I’m not sure if I’m going to paint the cabinet blue or black.

Nice! Where did you get the backbox warning decals?

#4766 1 year ago

Backbox decals are from
The awesome folks at retrorefurbs. I also think I might have found a blue that is darn close to the blue on the decals. “Maui Blue” Rustoleum.
Gonna do some test sprays see what happens

Rough concepr for a topper... It would be underlit with an LED strip, and the white backing would be opaque and have color changing leds in it... we shall see

If you ever decide to make this Topper I'm interested in one.

you'll regret it... it's such a choice game. Enough rules to make it fun, good shots and easy to explain. Plus with the color dmd it has the best graphics around.

Anyone else here have issues with the cabinet flipper leaf switches? I am constantly trying to clean the contacts to make them work and then they stop again. I'm certain it's the switch as putting pressure on them always activates the flippers. It's odd because I even replaced one and the same issue happened shortly after. Anyone convert the switches to using micro switches?

Had similar with a Data East machine. I was convinced it was the switch contacts .
Turns out it wasn’t . It was the connector at the small flipper board in the cab.Worth reseating the connector / clean header pins / possibly resolder the pins and see if that helps.

Best addition to a BW there is. It totally improves the show clips.

What is your all’s perspective on trim Powdercoating? I’m actually thinking of just staying black. The only other color I might consider is a brassy gold

I was really thinking of doing mine red along with the wires but am torn on doing gold wire forms and red legs, armor, etc

Post #2932 has a real nice darker blue that looks great in pictures.

I'm not a fan of post #3984 that has color matching blue to the cabinet.

Hey friends I need your help. Would someone be so kind as to take a photo of connector CN7 - should be a 9 pin on the power board in the upper left.

Mine is fried and making a new connector and want to ensure the wires are slotted correctly.
Thank you!

Yeah I saw yours then saw mine and now wondering if mine is right lol. I mean everything works but....

I just picked mine up in the last 4-6 weeks and been going through it and fixing so many items.

#4786 1 year ago

Just checked the manual - probably should have done that in the first place. The order I listed above is in fact correct. Cheers! Also I just noticed your connector is not keyed so maybe just flip it… but if works maybe leave it?

#4787 1 year ago

Made some progress on the inside! Got the harnesses in and recreated the labels and schematic.

Decals are all on, and the cabinet is basically done. Also hand painted the seams, and added metal leg protectors which was no easy feat, as they have to be cut down to fit the rear.

Playfield is in. Now just waiting on the powdercoat. Ended up going with “laser blue.” It’s a really dark blue with light flake. Almost looks black.

The blue looks just decent I’d say but not a real great match ?
The colour looks classy to me though.

#4795 1 year ago

I think the regular ol' black lockdown bar look is the best. I think the blue color is /fine/ but it's the texture that looks off imo.

How do you feel about the quality of the decals? I"ve got ten a few things from Resto and have had mixed results.
