I need to replace the NiCad battery on the CPU of my Special Force that's going to a new home. I planned on using a 4 battery pack with a 1N5817 blocking diode. Unfortunately, no local retailers have a diode or one that will work. Can I use 3 rechargeable batteries without the diode? If not, any other ideas out there? The new owner wanted the game for a party this weekend.

Thanks

Thanks Wayout. The problem I have is no time to order online in order to keep the buyer happy. I have a 4 AA battery remote holder on hand. Do I use 4 NiCad AA's in it?
