    If you have Dead batteries or the batteries aren't making contact, would it keep the CPU from booting? it's a 1979 Williams machine.

    no, wont retain settings, but it should boot.

    It should boot but in audit mode you can open the coin door and push in the audit button to get it to boot up into a game but with dead battery or no conection every time you turn the game off and back on you will be in audit until you fix the issue

    Thanks for the input, i'm going to relocate the batteries tonight..
