If you have Dead batteries or the batteries aren't making contact, would it keep the CPU from booting? it's a 1979 Williams machine.

It should boot but in audit mode you can open the coin door and push in the audit button to get it to boot up into a game but with dead battery or no conection every time you turn the game off and back on you will be in audit until you fix the issue
