And post a picture of the serial number.

Checking out the other games in that range on IPSNDB, yours is definitely one of the earlier ones. All of the others appear to be exports. The fact that there is whiteout on your serial number (which is also seen in one of the other games from that number bracket on IPSNDB) makes me think that yours was a reimport to the US. It would be interesting to read what is under the whiteout, but I'm not sure it is worth risking damaging the sticker. My guess is that it says Spain from the whiteout that is rubbed away. The other two serial numbers from IPSNDB are attached below.

Many of the first games from a run were shipped to international distributors and make contain some of the prototype/first run of plastics and playfield artwork. I couldn't find any information as to whether sega games had red boards in their prototype games, but from a quick google search, I couldn't find any examples (nor on IPDB).

One other things you could check is the version of the ROMs on the game. The earliest on IPDB is V3. If yours are earlier, you should make a copy of the them and get them added to IPDB (if you can't do that, someone here can help -- e.g., I'd be happy to as well as send you a newer ROM set, providing I have the ROM chips). In any case, neat game and thanks for documenting the differences.
