Can anyone tell me where to get that cool speaker light kit with the bat symbold?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a BM66 premium next month. Is there anything i should get right away to tap the potential of this game. Been reading the group for a little bit great community
Quoted from PinMonk:If it's used make sure it has the ramp kit and deflector installed. Post that, get the mini-spotlight mod for the upper right corner and the replacement Atomic Pile kit. Makes a HUGE difference visually.
Thanks I'm going NIB. I know there's a few quality of life and play mods i wanna make sure i got. Defidently adding pinstadiums
Quoted from thundergod76:Congrats!! This link contains most of the current rules. The last couple updates have implemented the minor villains. Easy to figure those out by reading the LCD screen. Have fun!
http://tiltforums.com/t/batman-66-rulesheet/2463
Thanks a ton. I do alot of powdercoat and im thinking about doing black armor with a red outline stripe like the car. Prolly buy that expensive side armor
I noticed sometimes my magnet will hold the ball and not let go. After about 1 second it does a ball search and drops it
Quoted from thundergod76:Hate to nitpick but I'm hoping Lyman does something more with the light show (or lack of). It's really generic at this point. But with what they've given us recently with code, I can live with it.
I agree, the lighting besides inserts is way weak
Quoted from Yelobird:Pretty sure I already added photos to this thread on that subject but I found the center pop bumper flasher to be the best option for the PS flasher. Not to much but used often during any mode. Love mine.
Got a post number?
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Hey Guys. I have a question I think is best asked here since you are most familiar with BM66. I was planning to grab a BM and then Luci VE got announced. Can't afford both. If you had to pick one for your hone collection which would it be?
Another detail to factor in is this is a small batch of Lucis which wont last long. I assume BM66 will continue being made for a while.
Thanks
I love BM66 but its new, plenty more time to grab one and ACDC is no sleeper, but you can always buy one second hand
Quoted from frolic:My scores have jumped since the new code. I'm not a great player and don't press my luck with Gordon, but i've still seen my scores get better.
Yeah crazy how much the Gordon target makes a difference but it is risky. Most of my drains are shot mistakes. I really wish the magnet would grab the ball when i shoot the phone. It rarely does, sometimes i get a ricochet off the phone targets to a drain
Quoted from iceman44:Just installed pinstadium lighting.
Really cool mod.
Anybody hook flasher up other than pops?
Im gonna install mine tonight and start multiball and see what flashers go off when you hit jackpots so that it flows with the pow sounds etc
So update. My magnet worked but was rather weak and rarely diverted the ball or grabbed it when answering bat phone. Putting a meter on the coil for the magnet it red 5.3 ohms. Normal magnet is around 2 or 3. So my magnet was at half power. Getting a new magnet and ill keep you updated. Hope this helps people
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:Interesting. Could you elaborate on how to test it? Mine only grab the ball maybe 20% if the time.
Lift play field and disconnect the magnet. On the magnet side put your leads on your meter on the two points. Set your meter to ohms, Lowest scale. Should read around or under 3 ohms
Quoted from MK6PIN:hmmm..have me curious now too (my magnet works great, btw)......is the <3 ohms resistance a spec that is called out somewhere in the manual, or an accepted standard of sorts?
I've never actually measured any of mine.....would guess there is an associated impedance level, as well?
Per stern the magnet should read under 3 ohms. I rung out the magnet on my aerosmith and it read 2 something ohms
Quoted from frolic:I haven't done this myself, but I wonder if someone feels like pulling their glass and testing the magnet for each villain to see if the ball doesn't rebound too quickly, whether the behavior is to grab the ball every single time.
Mine catches the ball sometimes, sometimes it doesn't, but I always thought that was just a case where the ball ricocheted too quickly, and out of reach of the magnet.
I thought about that too but metallica, aerosmith etc have long shots as well. I feel like it hurts gameplay with the magnet not doing its job. Sometimes i get a lightning rebound that throws it down the middle
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:My cheapo multi read 009...Is that 9 Ohms? or is it almost 1 ohm? Any idea?
What scale are you on? If your on 100 ohm sale it's 9 ohms. Touch the leads togeather and it should read 001 or 000
Ok so i installed my aerosmith magnet and stern is sending me one. With a magnet reading less ohms it still doesn't grab the ball very often. It makes me believe alot of it is in the code or when the magnet pulses on time and strength. The magnet runs off coil power so setting it to max pulse may help. I still believe its in code as aerosmith, metallica all have long shots where the ball gains speed, lastly the fact the magnet always seems to act wonky and between multiball where i see it do the most and normal play it varies in strength. I feel we should stress to stern as this is an important factor in the gameplay.
Quoted from Pinfactory2000:I like the idea of getting my rails (ball returns) powder coated...Maybe side rails too but I'm always afraid to pull of rails...Who does that and how much are we talking?
I do powdercoat work and you can check my thread. Over 100 customers all happy. I can do both for around 80.00 with return shipping. about a 1 to two week turn around
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/powder-coating-services-offered/page/11#first
Quoted from Trekkie1978:I put this up last night...and I tilted on ball 3...ugh.
How are you guys getting these scores. I dont consider my self a bad player and im on stock settings but my personal high is 450million
Quoted from Trekkie1978:The key is to play through the whole main villain modes. Last night, I put up around 900 million on Riddler and 850 million on penguin. Go for as many multi-balls as you can get. I put up 133 million on Shame. On ball 2, I had a 539 million bonus...don't ask me how I got it.
On villain escape and batusi multi-balls, I just killed it as well.
I can't believe I tilted on ball 3...I would've loved to have known what my bonus would've been.
I don't know exactly but ive see. People put up bilions on just penguin. Also when you start a villian and shoot the penguin scoop then make the orbit to the mystery hole is it confirmed on all villians that it makes that mode 2x?
Quoted from TimO:I'll be joining the B66 Premium club next month. I wasn't intending to put a shaker motor in it but after a little research, the cost and difficulty of installation is well within my means and ability. Three questions:
1) Does a shaker motor add anything to the experience on a machine you play almost daily, or is it a novelty that quickly wears off?
2) Is stuff going to break faster?
3) I assume a shaker can be disabled in settings. Correct?
Shaker is great helps you get the feel of the game and really so during multiball and penguin. It can be turned down or off. Super easy to install and i feel cheated playing games without them
Quoted from jfh:I want to make my right ramp a Batgirl purple. The colors I like are all used in powder coating. Should I worry about powder coating?
Was thinking of Prismatic Powder's Super Plum
I can support habit trails powder coat cause it will last the life of the game. RAMPS take to much impact and the ball tends to wear in and leave trails and wear marks. It may take awhile but it will happen, anodizing ramps will wear too. You can combat this by waxing them regularly but my suggestion is if you anodize, get an epoxy coating. Heres a picture of super plum ive done for refernce
Quoted from jfh:Well, all that was said in Stern of the Union was "this month", so I guess we have a 1 in 8 chance of it being today.
Seems like they like Wednesdays
Quoted from rotordave:More lolz. Literally, I lol’d. What else you gonna do ...
I moved the Bm66 gently to put the characters by it. CRACCCCCCKKKKK goes the other front corner! You gotta laugh.
I moved it reaaaally gently too. The cabinet probably twisted slightly and snap she goes. Pretty crazy.
The first photo shows the first corner I repaired. Came up pretty sweet.
rd
Mine cracked same spot
Quoted from Sethman:I noticed much improved magnet activity on .88
It was really grabbing and flinging around now.
Awesome ive been waiting for this
Quoted from airplanequartet:Ok, I played for about an hour and a half after work this morning with the new .88 code and here’s what I noticed... I finished riddler only once...
1. Gadget stayed available between drains.
2. I didn’t hear one of my favorite call outs, “finish HIM, or it’s CURTAINS”!
3. When you reach the final part of the riddler when you have 5 shots left and it just keeps the green screen with the shot count down, now there are small vignettes between each shot, there was at least 1 that I did’t recognise from the previous code
4. There is a LOT more going on with Mr. Freeze! If all the other minor villains get similar treatment we are in for a real treat
5. The “race” to the bat poles seemed truncated
I am absolutely in love with this game, it’s going to be a real gem when it’s finally “finished”, can’t wait to see what we get with Bat Girl.
It is a bit frustrating to have modes available that I’ve never seen, completing minor villains is so difficult and I’ve not even come close 1 time to getting the three seasons lighted for Batusi. I came close to switching the number of balls but it just doesn’t seem right! I want to get there with three balls.
I cant justify doing more than 3 balls. How pinball is supoosed to be lol
Quoted from hawkmoon:Robertstone0407,yes 3 balls are standard for most of you, but, back in our day (pre 1955+) 5 balls were standard! Now,this is only one thought, not a trend,so no heat,ok-I play most of my pins on 5 balls!! If I post a high score,I will have used only 3 !!I find with 5 balls,I can have a lot more fun just playing the way I used to without the 3 ball do-or-die ideology!I'm not the hot shot, make every mode, kinda player! While I have fun at venues competing,I'm just there to have fun! You will probably never see ME smiling holding a award of any kind, anywhere!
I agree to play for fun. Enjoy your game. I just personally enjoy the challenge and i agree 5 is nice to see all the features
So too often the right orbit for multiball will hobble and cause a rejected shot. So i watched and tested and found the ball launch metal seaps into the lane and really stops alot of momentum. So i shimmed it and literally night and day. Way easier. Much better flow and smoother shots
If you guys need more pictures i can explain but look at your game and youll see the metal portion of the ball launch sits in the lane. Shim it with a few washers like shown till you get it as flush as you can and i guarentee you'll see the difference
I cannot stress enough how much better the right or it and lock shot is now. If you look at the right lane the metal that the rides on for the launch sticks out in the lane in the area i circled red and its not flush with the playfield so it .makes the ball bounce instead of glide. I put 2 small washers in and boom the ball rolls though there high speed and makes the shot 10x easier. I circled it in purple. Look at your game and youll see what im talking about
Quoted from thundergod76:You need to lock 3 balls in the turntable mech via the right orbit. Lock is only lit while battling a major villain and ONLY after you hit either the Bat computer or the Crime analyzer.
Ok i just didnt know the name of that multiball. Anyone got a tip or suggestion for stabilizing the left ramp?
Quoted from thundergod76:Yep. Put mine on right out of the box. Love em. Plus Eric is super cool to deal with. Highly recommended!
You're not missing much really. All it does is light up static similar to Laseriffic's toppers. No gameplay interaction yet(?)
Did you go all black on the rubbers or color?
Quoted from taz:I was extremely critical of BM66 game play last Summer when you could literally see the entire game on 3 good balls. That's changed a lot over the past 3 updates or so. Like others have said, the theme immersion is very good. Apparently, the license allows content from any of 120 episodes, including call outs and video clips, plus custom call outs from Adam West and Burt Ward. As you go through villain modes, it advances a series of events from a particular episode involving that villain. It's not just thrown together (as I've heard about GotG), they're linked appropriately. So, the more shots hit, the more you see of the events between Batman/Robin and that particular villain, often times a fight, or in the case of Joker, him laughing at the Dynamic Duo and fighting.
The game is at about .87 complete as I type this and most obviously, it's missing a few more Minor Villain opportunities in Season 3 and Batgirl, which are hopefully coming shortly, probably along with a combined wizard mode. At present, there are 10 villain modes in the game, four Major Villains, and 6 Minor Villains. Some of the Minor Villains will have more than one mode, such as King Tut being already in Season 1 and Season 3 (different episodes though). The Major Villains have a continue option that allows a quick checkout with less points, or the opportunity to fight them deeper into their modes for more points. The primary multiball is a Batcave fight between the Dynamic Duo and Joker/Penguin. It's generally achieved through 3 locks to the rotisserie out of the right orbit, or/and a mystery award and is unrelated to progress in either Major or Minor Villains. Shame is a Season 2 Minor Villain and also a two ball multiball, the only one in the game at present.
There's only one "at large" mode in the game at present and that's Bat Turn. It's a cool mode and stacks with whatever else is going on at the time. There are two primary ways to attack the game right now, each ending in mini wizard modes. Capture the four Major Villains, whether jailing them early or later doesn't matter, to achieve multiball through Villain Escape, though jailing early has huge point consequences. Complete at least one Minor Villain from each of the 3 Seasons and achieve multiball through Batusi. IMHO, Batusi is more difficult to achieve than Villain Escape due to how the Minor Villain modes are timed presently. There's arguably about 27 modes in the game at present, if you count the various depth layers and continue options of each Major Villain, a couple of King Tuts, multiballs, mini-wizards, etc.
The game is already pure chaos and a massive stacking adventure. It's not uncommon to have a Major Villain, Minor Villain, and Bat Turn going at the same time, and even possibly a multiball. Four modes is the most I've been able to get going at once and they show up as small TV screens on the main display to show what all is running. You can switch between the modes using the center button in order to prioritize the mode you're most interested in as the mode you can hear and see on the playfield. Try moving around between modes some in multiball, by the way. With three or four modes going at the same time, it's nearly impossible to follow a particular mode and Minor Villains often get lost in the shuffle of stacked modes, making them sometimes difficult to complete due to time lost keeping them prioritized, even in multiball. After a ball drains the Minor Villain modes are ended, but Major Villain mode progress continues on to the next ball. Gadgets factor in a little bit for adding shots with the press of a button, but they aren't yet enabled to anything spectacular or differentiated between types of gadgets, like I hope they might be by the end, though I doubt it.
IMHO, the left orbit is the most important shot in the game. It's half of what's needed for Riddler, Mystery Awards, Extra Balls, and starting Minor Villains. It's a tight shot and easily bricked until you dial it in while playing. Once you start hitting it regularly, the game takes off. The rotisserie is usually not a distraction to me, other than I'm sometimes ahead of it to answer the Batphone if I quickly get control of the ball out of the right scoop. There are scoring strategies, as pointed out by others in this thread, such as in Penguin. Also, another cool challenge is trying not to restart Major Villains. Such as lining up Riddler to go and before you hit the magnet to answer the phone, it falls into the Penguin scoop which you've already played. I think there's a setting for that, but I like the extra challenge later in the game. There are also combos which will produce various cool bat vehicles crossing the screen.
I find BM66 to have longer ball play than most of my games, other than Avengers, but it seems to be just about right for this game. I don't know if there's a way to setup the game to make the tight orbit shots easier. Some have tweaked the left orbit to widen it up a bit by moving a blue playfield piece to the left ramp. Regardless, there is a little bit of flailing around sometimes if you aren't on target. Also, to be fair to the playfield layout, a little necessary bit of side to side flailing helps build up gadgets and light TVs without a high risk of out lane drains. Once the modes start though, there's too much chaos to notice much. Oh, and another thing I've noticed. It's impossible to try to focus just on Minor Villains, for instance. The rest of the game modes insist on participating.
There are lots of mods developed with TLC by owners available in this thread, from a lit Batsignal for the back of the game, improved topper Batsignal, lots of Yelobird mods like the Atomic Pile, the Batparachute Van, left ramp upgrade, etc.
Can you take a picture of what you did to make the left orbit flow better?
Quoted from Concretehardt:Ok last health update on me here on this my favorite Pinside thread. After a successful “craniotomy” last Thursday (tumor removed) I got the call that I had been stressing about since my diagnosis.. my pathology report, It turns out my tumor which was the size of a lemon was a benign grade 1 tumor (not cancer) which was the best possible news I could have received. I was able to sit down with my Daughter and tell her that her dad didn’t have cancer which was a pretty special moment. I can’t begin to say how lucky I feel and considering that 1 week ago I was in ICU recovering from brain surgery and today I am resting at home. I am still struggling with my speech a bit as it can be difficult for me sometimes to put my thoughts into words and I am dealing with some serious headaches but all things considered I feel very very lucky!!
Fun fact I got off of my anti seizure meds 2 days ago and finally me and my Bat Dog (Noah) went and played my BM66 and I beat my all time high score! The thing is that I have never been a great pinball player and have always struggled with making consistent shots, it seems that this tumor was pushing on an area that affected my motor function because I am hitting shots and playing better and more consistently than I ever have!
On a side note I am probably going to have to think about a different hairstyle.
Amazing news rest and heal up
So i took the rubber and mount off the ramp and due to design i dont see a great way to shift it into the inside the ramp. My gut tells me our best option is to add a rounded stainless steel re placement for the rubber that wraps around the front of the ramp or install a post which requires drilling
Moved my rubber to inside the ramp. Had to file the corner on the metal plate to fit the slope of the ramp. Haven't ground off the ramp but i can testify huge gameplay change. Zero issues on ramp flow. I also set my coil strength to hard from normal. Found the magnet grabs 10x more and shots flow better
Quoted from DVDA:yes, they made a huge difference and are worth every penny.
Agreed. Flasher UV model
Quoted from KLR2014:Are there known problems with installing a shaker motor in this game ? I understood from a reseller that stern advised not too
It has settings in the code. I added one on my premium a long time ago and its been perfect. I love it
Is it just me or does the mystery video seem much more fluid as well as the game and video flow seems to be greatly improved by the node update. I feel like the videos react alot better. I remember during multivall many times the screen would lag. Seems all cleaned up
Quoted from docquest:I think the bat signal topper from Stern gets used a lot during game play. It lights up at the start of each game, for each major villain start, villain escape, and bat turn mode. Not sure how it could be more interactive than it already is.
I agree the crane could use some more variety on how it moves. The same crane in BDK has a few different ways it moves depending on the mode you are in.
The mini LCD will probably get more interactive once they figure out the best way to use it.
A sweeping mode would be great, continuous fluid movement and in set mode see how many times you can hit it. Each hit adds a ball maybe and have a crane hit champion.
Quoted from PBMAN:Couldn't afford the LE so I am bringing my Premium to that level. Robert just Powder Coated my Batman 66 Wire Ramps in what he calls Catwoman Purple. These pics do it no justice as it looks amazing. Thanks Robert for a great job and great price.
Looks great
Quoted from TimO:I like your idea, but it would only work if the magnet held on to your ball after you answer the phone long enough to make your selection. Nine out of ten times I answer the batphone the magnet fails to capture the ball.
Agreed, im over the magnet, seems to do almost little to nothing
Quoted from dts:Yes, my magnet is exactly the same, solid everywhere, built Feb 27, 2018.
Do you feel it helps the magnet grab better?
Quoted from AdeptJR:Question, adding Mods with lights and such, is it easy for a newbie to install? As I am waiting on my BM66 Premium, any recommendation for MOD add-on’s? Anything I need to know when first opening and setting it up?
Thank you advance for your help and advice,
Jeff
Mods are pretty easy and designed to be mostly plug n play. Yelobird of the mod couple has a couple great mods.the atomic pile, and speaker lights are top notch. I also really like the crane mod on mezel which is super easy. Art blades are great but read up first they can be tricky. Pinstadiums are very easy as well.
New villian rewards are great. Penguin phase 3 has the magnet in use. Shame reward is killer. Videos are much smoother.
Quoted from Yelobird:Sure I like a challenge and discerning eye! If you squint you can see which is the non-clone.... Close and function was my goal.

Daddy likey
Just did a Batman 66 in what i call Penguin purple. I think it looks pretty rad. Excited to see it get installed

Robert I want to do my right ramp in whatever color it came in for the LE. I think it was Blue. I will pm you. You did an amazing turnaround for me the last time.
Hit me up when your ready
My crane seems to be getting tougher to activate crane hits. anyone got any suggestions for adjustments. Its just a ground and the spring
Quoted from Royale-W-Cheese:Nice Pin-stadiums I see. Also great powerdcoating.
Lol thanks!
