Added another mod to my 66SLE. Concerned about the pinstripe getting worn off near the flipper buttons. I cut some pieces of PET-G and crafted some protectors for each side. Removed 3 screws from Stern siderails, drill PET-G with 5/32" where screws hold it on. Used my punch set to pop out the flipper button holes, installed and they fit perfect!
BTW ... still very concerned about wearing the pinstripe on top of lockdown bar and red bat sticker around the lockdown bar action button. Only solutions I can think of are mylar or clear coat

If these wear in a HUO environment pinball is dead and buried in the wild.

No biggie, I protect it somehow and I think replacement would be about a 10 second job if and when it got damaged.
Think games like GOT and ST - the action buttons on the top of the LD bar are surrounding by laser cut metal

So just a direct decal with no clear? I assumed there was clear shows what I know!

You are very right then it will probably get worn off quite quickly. They should have cleared it!

Every time Stern does something people say they will boycott them, it doesn't happen and stern keeps selling games. I think they have learned some lessons there!

Having said that I can't see Stern being dumb enough to abandon BM66 but I could easily see them delaying it to work on something else. Stern needs to keep its production line running so I suspect that is what drives everything they do. This is a niche game for them so I would think it would be hard to keep their lead programmer tied up on it for a while.

JJP was a lot slower on code for a while and they kept releasing base software updates. It took a while but my guess is they have the base system nailed and a bunch of that initial time went into making the base system easier for them to code. I believe b66 is the only game code Lyman is working on but bet he is putting a bunch of time in on their system which given the node board deaths I suspect they still are working on. Just look at the system menus they have not changed from dmd.
