Getting a BM66 from the March run.

Considering putting a playfield protector on the game before I play it.

Anyone installed one on a BM66? Installation easy? Which supplier did you use (not sure if there are multiple ones)?

I started another thread on this but now I am specific to BM66 experiences.

Thanks

Quoted from Sako-TRG:

If this is a new Batman, shouldn’t it ship with the riveted fix?

Speaking of new, anyone hear when the next run will be started?

Quoted from Budman:

Hmmm. I sent my money in February and told mid March delivery.... now told April.

Me too, oh well. Worth the wait for me

My Batman is arriving Friday. Have a playfield protector. Anything else I need to install before I fire it up?

Got my new BM66 yesterday, also a playfield protector.

Anyone have a link to instructions for how to install this?

Thanks

So played my new Batman 66 tonight for the first time and the turntable suddenly stopped working. The motor is engaging but it gets stuck. See photos. Anyone else have this issue?

Quoted from JimB:

Yes, check the wires underneath. They can get pulled into the motor causing this problem. Need to be carefully tied up out of the way.

No wire issues. Also before the turntable stopped working, I never had the batcave come up. So something is not right mp

I'm going to say the cam assembly needs to be moved down on the motor shaft a bit. Here's a picture of mine. Notice the black set screw for adjustment and the gaps between the different parts.

When I loosen the set screw with an Allen wrench I cannot move the assembly down any further on the shaft, won't budge. Do I need to remove the motor assembly in order to move it? Or am I not understanding how you fixed it? Thanks

Quoted from Sutol:

Not sure if your still playing but you can move the gear assy round by hand so it fits back in to the slot on the plastic scallop.
Had the same issue and Thunderbird advised me to white grease the scalloped white cam edge and now it works great. It's not the greatest resolution but you'll see what mine was doing.

Yes, mine is getting stuck in a similar fashion. So you put grease on the plastic white edges?

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Does your turntable have an even gap all the way around when looking down from the top of the playfield? Or is it lodged against the back of the play field?

Fairly even gap, but higher above the playfield in the back and fairly flush in the front

So is this a common fix for this issue? No available tweaking or adjustments of the turntable mechanism itself? If not, grease here we come.

Also is the amount of play in the attached video normal?

And this, seems like a lot of play in the mechanism. Normal?

#13055 7 months ago

Sorry for so many posts but this is driving me nuts. Why does the metal clutch even goes to this position? It is turning counter clockwise and not even in one of the slots. trying to move but only the edge so no turning possible.

One more post coming...…….

So I finally figured out maybe the cause of my issue. When the playfield is in normal position the Wheel is too low and blocks the clutch assembly from moving at all. So...is there a way to adjust this and raise the turntable so the wheel will be free to engage and move?

Quoted from Rob_G:

Use this image of my game to determine what is out of position on your game. You can see there should be 1/16 gap between the cam arm and the plastic.
[quoted image]

Fixed, put 2 washers underneath each of the four screws that attach the motor mount to raise the cam mechanism. Works great now.

I will do the same for the turntable playfield as well as the back is too high and I have already adjusted to the lowest it can go.

Stern should provide washers/spacers with this machine.

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Has to be one of the best games made as in fun theme and awesome integration of that theme. Definitely a keeper!

This pin makes me laugh every time I play it. That is a good thing

Quoted from TronGuy:

Ok, I’ve owned the game for 8 hours. It is time to power it on. Got the side rails, most cliffys (gotta do the shooter lane still), plastics, inside side art, crane add on, speaker kit. Maybe more, I’m tired. Gonna play for a bit.
How d9 I set it for freeplay?[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

What method did you use to install the inside side art? Did you remove the playfield?

I put a protector on my BM66 before I played a ball. I notice zero differences in play. Will put one on all my games in the future. Very easy to install as well.

Quoted from Happy81724:

Is it Mylar? You don’t have to take anything off the playfield to do it?
