Hey guys

If I have access to a projector from the LE can it be installed and work with the Premium version ?

I literally know zero about how it works and connects but I am told it syncs with LE topper?? Hence I am unsure if it can be used / connected as a stand alone item?

Any answers appreciated as always

#12757 5 years ago
Quoted from docquest:

Depends which version of the Stern projector you have.
If you want the projector to be activated via the game code and turn on and off during gameplay you need the projector that came with node boards. Stern sold that version for $250.
Stern also produced a version specific to LE owners for $200. The LE owners already have the topper that includes node boards that activate all the various topper lights and can also control the projector.
If you have the $200 version and you dont have the controlling node boards than it cant be activated by the game code.
You should still be able connect it and have it just be on whenever the game is on. I believe the Stern version requires 48 volts to run the projector. There should be a relay board with your projector that has an input for the 48v projector power and a 12v or 5v control signal to toggle the relay.

Thanks so much for that detailed reply.
Helps me understand it.
Cheers

Quoted from WizardsCastle:

Any suggestions on a good rules sheet to read? I have no idea what I'm doing haha.
Played a couple of games last night, and I jailed all 4 major villains, and then had the Bat signal flashing. Couldn't figure out what to hit to start it, but I eventually got it going (no idea how) and started a 4 or 5 ball mode (no idea which one).
Game is an absolute blast, but really have no idea what going on!

Grab a few beers and settle in for a few hours......

Yes it's probably a waste of money, but damn it's cool.

Nice.
How did you connect that without the topper?

#12859 5 years ago
Quoted from imagamejunky:

There are a few companies selling them. I'm sure some local distributors have them as well. Here's the part number again
502-7037-00

Can you buy just the node board for this ?
(Already have the projector)

#12869 5 years ago

So.....if I have a Premium game, and this projector........do I need anything else in order to have it turn on and off when playing?

#12880 5 years ago

So.it would appear I require 2 x more boards then....? ( refer post 12869 above )??

#12884 5 years ago
Quoted from docquest:

If you want it to turn on and off during gameplay than you need the other two boards.
Maybe pinballaddicted can get you the part numbers of those boards and you can call Stern to see if they would sell them to you.

That would be appreciated

Surely Minerva Mayhem ( last Ep in series ) must come in at some stage as an ultimate end to the gameplay just like the end of series. Even the word mayhem lends itself to a pinball mode perfectly.

Or the best known footage from the movie being the Shark Repellent, has to make it into this game.

I actually thought they would have removed the Bookworm into Freeze combination as its so well known now as a strategy.

#12934 5 years ago

It appears JFH and I were thinking same and posting at the same time

#12936 5 years ago

Arrrrr ok, I thought due to the EB animation that they had movie rights too. Thanks for clearing that up.

See what comes, I'm sure it will be awesome.

Quoted from imagamejunky:

Have any of you seen any mods to replace the cats on the ramps? These flat plastic cats are the only cheap looking “pro” style parts to this beautiful game IMO. I’m surprised I haven’t already seen some molded cat mods.

I concur.

One of the 1st things I noticed on game and surprisingly Mezel or someone hasn't taken them on ??

Quoted from extendo:

I had to turn the pin room ceiling lights on as it was like a mini rave party when playing the game

Couple of Disco Bickies next time and lights off extendo

Previous post not complete,I had this issue as well!! You have to put a small wedge spacer in the rear, and it bounces the ball back into the hole! Now,see previous post

Any pic of this??

Ok, so who else snickers at the chicken noises...... or is it just me

#13167 4 years ago

I have read a little about the crane stop locations "going out " of alignment.

Mines good on the way out yet on the way back it sits about half inch too far to the right at all stops, which of course occasionally traps the ball on furthest right stop.
Not a huge deal, but if easy fixable I would like to sort it as , like a lot of us here I am just a little OCD

I read about adding tape to opto flag, does anyone have an image of this type of fix. Or is there a better fix I have missed. It's not a sticky topic and I have read a fair amount of this thread
before posting this.

Help appreciated

#13169 4 years ago
Quoted from crwjumper:

This worked for me.

Thanks.
That helped a little, still not perfect but moved the stop points enough so far right let's the ball through now

#13172 4 years ago

Lag set to zero.
How it sits on the way out.....

#13173 4 years ago

Same location on the way back...again its not a huge deal, would be nice to have it right thats all

#13181 4 years ago

So I did adjust the opto flag ever so slightly ,it is just now slightly to the right if you can tell in the image. With lag set at zero I now get the results in the other image. And that'll do fine . Thanks for tips

#13183 4 years ago
Quoted from Thunderbird:

Wow, that’s the best I’ve seen. Almost right on the money! Can you mark exactly what you adjusted on the photo or point your finger on the exact adjustment?

Be easiest for people to look at where screw is tightened rather then look at the opto area itself

Hey all.

Question re this added phone mod.
Mine is wired so that it is always on, which is OK.

However, instead of being on all the time am I able to safely join/splice this into the wiring of the main phone on the turntable so it behaves the same as that phone?

Just concerned re node boards, loads etc etc.

Advice appreciated as always.

#13200 4 years ago

And is anyone working on moulded style mods to replace those cats yet?

#13206 4 years ago
Quoted from WizardsCastle:

Noticed when I shoot the right orbit for a lock, it sometimes doesn't make it into the lock because the turntable is higher (not level) with the pf.
The front of the turntable appears to be fine.
Is this normal?

Quoted from Yelobird:

Ummm, why are you installing it there??? It was meant to replace the rubber dog toy phone and work with the game on and off. Not sure I would install it always on in the corner. Maybe just follow the provided instructions for the best effect.

Ummmmm, my game came that way and I'm curious as to the wiring , which I think you inadvertently just answered.

#13231 4 years ago
Quoted from Macca101010:

Yep code is great, easily my favourite pin. If we want more I think most agree:
A bat-climb mode, more usage of the crane and a mode with the turntable locked to the TV and villains taunting you.

That all sounds so good.
Yes more crane mode. Agree

Please stop using big words here at Pinside

#13289 4 years ago
Quoted from RDReynolds:

Weird I hit it when flashing and it does nothing. I 2x checked it in switch test and it definitely works. ???

It only functions in some minor villian modes, and just to screw with your head even more, only within some parts of the minor villian mode it works in

@Rotodave posted a great tutorial on how to repair split cabs.

Hey guys! 2 questions that I didn't see answered in the Stickies.
1. Has anyone had the issue with the left Catwoman ramp and balls flying off the back of it?
Thanks!

Stern will give you a kit for this

Quoted from WizardsCastle:

It feeds to the left sling, and never to the flipper

Would love to assist but I have no idea what your games issue is. That rail goes to the left sling return, thats the game.
