The main topper which was Batman and Robin in the batmobile with blinking antennae stalks and rotating red beacon and light up Bat logo came with the LE and SLE machines. On the SLE machines the Bat signal projector was also included. The main topper was never available to order as a standalone part to buy. It was exclusive to LE and SLE buyers.
Stern made 2 versions of the batsignal projector topper, one for exisitng LE owners and another for existing premium owners. The LE version part number is 502-7038-00 and the premium version was 502-7037-00. The projectors would turn on the Bat signal at various points during gameplay.
The LE version retailed for $199 and didn't come with node boards since the LE machines already had them in the backbox to run the main topper. The premium version retailed for $249 and came with the node boards and a metal box to hold them on top of the backbox. Compared to todays prices, they were a real bargain.
Stern also made a "Villains" topper. It was a static display of the major and minor villains against a Gotham cityscape. Stern part number for this was 502-720-00. This topper had no node boards so it had no gameplay interactivity. It lit up once the game was on and just stayed on until the game was turned off. Ironically it retailed for $399 even though it was less interactive than the cheaper Bat Signal projectors.
I have an actual full Stern LE topper (Batman and Robin in batmobile with rotating beacon) with all the node boards so it can be used on a premium BM66 and have the full interactivity. I just need to finish up the wiring harness for it. Still not sure if I will to sell or trade it and if so for how much since it's pretty much made out of pure unobtanium.
I'll pay more than most. Please PM if you decide to get rid of it. I have an original Premium Bat Light o could also throw in/ discuss.
