Placed my order yesterday... haven't been this excited in quite a while.

Quoted from jfh:I have the Mod Couple sticker on my game too but have never had a problem with the ball sticking. But I also have a playfield protector on.
I have a few questions...
How much of a PITA was the playfield protector to install?
Did you have to adjust any switches after the install?
Does it affect play at all?
How does it look?
I have a BM66 on order and have contemplated on getting a playfield protector.
Thanks in advance.
Quoted from TomN:I've found that in a home use only environment Cliffy's aren't needed as much. Unless you play your pins almost nonstop which I guess some of us do. To each his or her own I guess...Honestly some of them are such a pain to install that they are just not worth it to me. I wonder what the general pinside opinion is on this?
I just got my BM66 on Friday. I ordered the full Cliffy set. All have been installed, with the exception of the Penguin Cliffy. It looks like it's going to be a be-yach to install.
Quoted from iloveplywood:I'm just wondering why should I care if to protect a part of the playfield I'll never see because I'm covering it by protecting it. Who am I protecting it for? Is there a benefit to protecting it for other reasons, for example will the damage spread outside the future cliffy covered area?
Ed Zachery... that's what you're trying to prevent.
I've seen the Star Lord scoop on GOTG and the right scoop on Houdini look like they were attacked by a ravenous beaver within a couple of months on route.
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:I'd be interested to see this. I like the idea of leaving the lip exposed as that helps drop the ball in there and you lose that lip with a Cliffy.
The ball doesn't drop into that scoop, it is slammed down into it when it hits the angled metal behind the scoop.
Quoted from Jahkub:You can hold the gadget button for ~1 second to change between modes, it also changes the music so you don't even have to look up if you're familiar with the game sounds.
I just learned something... Thanks Dude!
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:Yes. Those 2 are not working.
I fixed Dan's Aerosmith that had a similar problem. There were 4 or 5 switches not registering. They all went to a single plug on a node. Two other switches on that plug were working.
The switches that were working were the first two on the ground loop. The switches further down the loop were the ones not working.
It turned out to be a broken ground wire between the second and third switch. A quick solder job fixed it right up.
Your issue sounds very similar.
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:Will you be around for a call later? I figured it would be something like that too, but I'm fearful the wires I need to access are buried under the turntable components.
I'll take a look under the hood when I get home and see what I can see.
Quoted from DeathHimself:Question:
When starting a villain and you shoot the scoop to setup the bat poles shot for 2x scoring, and the game now prompts you to shoot for the bat signal shouldn't the bat signal light be on? I notice mine is never lit when it prompts me to shoot for it. Thanks
The left orbit light is lit orange to signal what shot to hit.
Quoted from melumga:I'm thinking of adding a subwoofer to my premium. Does it make much of an improvement? Any tips on the best way to hook one up or what sub to use? I was just planning on alligator clipping from the cab speaker to the sub, however I've been told that doing it this way would just be getting the amplified signal and that I'd be better off getting the signal direct from the source. Thanks.
You should seriously consider checking out pinwoofer.com (@pinwoofer). It's so much better than wiring up an external sub woofer. I've installed them on 3 of my pins and they ROCK!
Quoted from thundergod76:...baron playfields
Got something against Barons?
Would you be happier with:
- Vicounts
- Earls
- Marquees
- Dukes
