Time for a hard plastic shield on all play fields installed at the factory.

Quoted from davidSpumpkins:Maybe Stern is too small to afford a team
Doesn't equal enough sales to make up for the labor costs. Look at all the cost cutting that has happened up to now just building the machines.
Thinking of getting a Premium. What should I add on besides the side art and shaker? Any good ideas for toppers on the Premium?
Quoted from docquest:Yes here:
http://tmmello1965.wixsite.com/fanmade/bat-signal
I posted that in my DIY mini batsignal thread. His looks great but its quite a bit more expensive. I'm more of the DIY type so I want to see what I can do with the cheapy amazon mass produced version.
Did anyone get one of these? If so what size is best 1/12, 1/9 or 1/6 scale.
Thanks I'll check it out, also wanted the projector one for the wall since the reviews for the Stern accessory is so bad.
Quoted from iceman44:You probably have a bad node board. #8 if i recall.
Is the assembly turning at all?
The wires got pulled up in the motor and bent the plastic stopper and broke the solder on one of the diodes on that board under the motor. Have to call stern for a replacement
Quoted from iceman44:Same thing happened to mine. Had a mangled mess with wiring caught in motor.
Had to get whole new assembly
I think I was able to save the wires ok so hopefully just getting a new board will get me back. I really love the way it plays so far with just a few games.
Quoted from ASOA:I really wanted to be in this club. Now here comes the negative nancy.
Wow I totally disagree and I'm not even a comic/batman fan. It will only get better but I love mine so far the way it stands.
Quoted from NeilMcRae:yellow submarine would be a terrible theme for a pin.
Sergeant Pepper could at least have the Cirqus Voltaire theme incorporated. Better choice.
Quoted from docquest:I was going to buy the Stern topper batsignal but have decided not to based on reading this type of feedback from you and others. I think I'm gonna try one of these and see how it looks:
amazon.com link Ā»
Its only $17, 5" tall die cast metal, has a full 360 swivel plus up/down tilt. I'll try and modify the lens to be the TV style and see how it looks.
Did this turn out ok? Amazon listing makes it sound like it's only a hardback book.
The small things we think of have never been on Stern's radar and they are still in business so go figure.
That sure sounds like nothing is coming, employees would be sure or at least play dumb saying something clever.
I'm thinking all the complaining has gotten them to open up the code very recently and just add a few tweaks and features. They can't have spent months getting ready if we are just getting this very minimal feedback.
Quoted from twenty84:The real question is why don't they just release the code? /blockquote>
Probably cause it's just a beta and they aren't ready, nothing unusual here. They need a ton more time i'm sure.
Quoted from docquest:Finally had some time to install my pin stadium kit
Did you order direct from their web site and what options do you need for BM66?
Quoted from 82Trooper:So maybe I am an idiot....what did I do incorrectly here?
The other pictures I see posted the led ring is centered in the grill.
Mine looks like yours, I have the ring centered over the speaker so itās going to be offset.
Quoted from twenty84:Did anyone get the Expo code on a USB drive, as they mentioned this would be an option? I'm starting to think they just don't care.
I looked at that a while back and there is no menu option to back up the code like their used to be. Must be on purpose.
same thing happened to me adding the side art. Don't turn it back on. There's some wires that can get pulled up into the motor. Carefully lift the playfield and you'll see the problem, pull them all out, make sure none are cut or semi-cut and tie wrap them out of the way.
Quoted from thundergod76:Also added another post light to the top of my atomic pile. Turned out great!
Ā» YouTube video
Very nice, would you consider jumping into the mod craze and offering an upgraded light kit for the atomic pile?
Quoted from jfh:Thanks. I just wish I had thought of theming that room before we were almost done building it..
That entranceway is need of automatic sliding doors with sound effects. Amazing detail looks great.
Rule question. When you defeat all 4 and the playfield goes dark and the bat signal flashes, what do you do next? Nothing seems to trigger any more modes.
With so many new posts I thought code dropped but all I got for Christmas is play field protector talk
I can, I work, watch TV and everything possible without lights on. We even alternate days at work meetings where one day lights off one on after a vote.
I always do 5 balls. It puzzles me why arcades continues to stick to 3. Iām no beginner and the little Iāve tried Star Wars locally my $1 is over quick. I end up walking away. You would think if people could play a bit longer they would spend more.
2nd game on .87 and it rebooted during 3 ball lock multi-ball. I had played villan escape first then got the multi ball last. Would have been a great score too
Quoted from PinMonk:Possible this is the known issue with spike machine power supplies and not software.
Not so sure that explains it. I played the same way for many games on the last two updates and zero reboots but now .87 has failed 3 times for me.
Quoted from docquest:grabbing the ball more during the bat phone sequence. Anyone else notice that?
Haven't loaded the code yet but i thought .87 also was doing that better.
Quoted from rotordave:When it starts a villain ... before you shoot the batphone, you can change villains. In your example, just shoot Riddler (if heās ready to go) and it will change to Riddler. Then shoot the phone and away you go.
rd
I got all 3 villains but Riddler and every time i hit the phone another completed villain starts. Where on the playfield do you shoot to hit Riddler to make him start?
Quoted from Bearcat:Has anyone had this happen? Turntable stopped working, received this error:
yes, wires underneath gets pulled up into the motor. check it.
Quoted from PismoArcade:Well, you can always go this route. [quoted image]
I just did that on Aerosmith and it didnāt help on just scoring like I thought it would. Multi balls on Aerosmith doesnāt seem to score as good as BM66. Wonder if a code update will improve scoring on Aerosmith?
Quoted from TigerLaw:We did have some issues out the box. Check out this wire that was wrapped about the motor of the turn table.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Join the club, same thing happen to me and I got mine a long time back.
Quoted from Breger1:So I'm new to the newer machines with code updates. When updating does it erase all high score information?
yes
Yes, check the wires underneath. They can get pulled into the motor causing this problem. Need to be carefully tied up out of the way.
Quoted from Jakers:so I finally got the game to recognize the usb stick and started the update process. I chose "full install no verify". It's been stuck on 292/5707mb for about 10 minutes now. Do spike 2 games freeze a lot during code updates? Is it safe to turn it off and back on again to restart the update process?
Only bm66 freezes for me a lot. Yes restart when stuck.
Quoted from thundergod76:He asked when I bought my game. After I told him he said it wasnt under warranty and didnt offer to sell me a board. I have no idea what went wrong with the board. I have both service bulletins in place for Nodes 8 and 9. There were no broken transistors on the board either.
Considering they can easily repair and resell/reuse they should at least offer a purchase discount for sending back the bad board.
Quoted from kermit24:Node boards can be repaired by people with the right knowledge, skills, and equipment. The schematics have been released.
And Stern doesnāt offer this repair service because?
And I understand that but when you build an expensive board with a higher than normal failure rate how is it you donāt want to keep your customers?
Quoted from planters49:I hope not since I paid in full a while ago.
The increase is supposed to make up for the higher price on freight which would have to be added to your cost. Hopefully Iām wrong.
