So I’m considering this pin and want to know...... Long term does it get to easy ? And if does. Does it stay fun or does it start to collect dust ? Shots seem like maybe they would get a bit old?

Reach out to biglaw . He has a few left. You can buy a few ways to connect it. I bought his Heli so he made me a jumper so mine come on and off when I hit the mystery. You could just have it stay on as a option B.

They are the last touch and good riddance to those plastics. HAHA.

For us game is fun and my wife and I absolutely love the theme. There is plenty in the code to explore and find different ways to play the game.

Only downside for me is the long ball times.

Yo All,

Any ideas on how to get rid of the awful speaker lights glare on glass? I have seen those panels that go over the glass.

Other options?

Thanks.

The bookworm, freeze strategy is certainly powerful, but hopefully that doesn't discourage folks. If you guys haven't done the mini wizard modes, simply focusing on playing those is worth it and a real fun deal. Shoot for the tv targets, left orbit and start a minor villan. Go for whoever you want for their cutscenes. Try to get one from each season to play those mini wizard modes and keep your minor villain on the main channel. If you don't know about changing channels it's a long press on the action button. You will likely beat some main villains along the way too and get to villain escape.

The game can have longer ball times, but with so much to explore because of the code depth I feel that the difficulty is balanced perfectly. There is so much to do and so many different ways to play, plus the theme integration is second to none!

#15409 4 years ago

The long ball times really depend on how you have the game set up, give it a steep tilt plus moving the outlane posts can change times drastically.

Personally I added Pinstadium lights and glare is gone while Playfield art pops. Some also go with Invisiglass.

Going to order those as it made my JP come alive....I was reading up on Invi versus PDI- PDI out of stock. Hope the glass removes the big red rings from the speaker lights...super distracting.

Thanks for the input.

All good. We have our game set up at 7 degree pitch with the out lanes all the way open to help reduce ball times. If the ball times are still to long you can set the ball save timer to zero.

Good luck!

With the PS lighting no more glare and you really don’t need Invisiglass.

This game would be the last, if ever to leave my collection. We’ve played the heck out of it and it never grows old. It is the one game constantly played and we have some great titles to choose from. It stays fun and challenging, so don’t think you’re ever going to say it is too easy, unless you’re a super pro and even then, there is so much depth, you’ll keep on finding new things to explore. No dust ever collected on our Bat66 in nearly 2 years playing it. Great lasting fun!

Yep still my favourite pin ever made. Can't beat the magic Lyman put into this game. Mine won't ever leave either.

I agree with everything stated above except the longer ball times, I wish I can keep the ball in play longer then I do lol. I also loved LOTR but those ball times were like going to work, when I'd go down and play a game my wife was like see you in an hour or so.... but on BM66 I go down faster then an old man who ran out of Viagra!!!

Just an awesome pin all around and one of the best integrated themes ever!!! LOTR is long gone but the bat is here with no plans of moving it.

You can move the out lane posts to their closest position which will help with ball times. Also, when you shoot the orbits, does the ball feed the flipper, or does it hit the top of the sling? We had one in leagues that hit the top of the flipper. Giving the machine a hard enough bump to get it off the wall would get you a tilt warning. It made the game crazy hard. I'm not sure if there is adjustment under the plastic for the metal guide or not.

There are also super bands to make ball control easier and you can even go so far as to adjust the slingshot switches to reduce sensitivity if you're getting a lot of side to side motion.

I'm recommend setting it up so you enjoy it and have longer ball times. The game is so deep with so many cut scenes, it's worth it so you can play longer. Other games are really shallow, so you don't really lose anything with short ball times.

On a side note, I heard rumors about a potential code update. I'm hoping they add more call outs. There are a lot of cut scenes with no sound. I'm wondering if you can add call outs in places where there aren't any with Pinball Browser?

A few months ago we kept hearing on Sterns SOTU "BM66 code coming soon" then when it finally drop it was very anti-climatic to say the least. Now are you referring to that one or did you hear of a potentially new drop? It might be hard at the moment as I believe Lyman is still on Elvira but boy I sure hope it's true for I'd love to see Villain Vision finally come into play like they stated when they advertised BM66.

Villain Vision was never committed, only offered as a possibility of what could happen. After Lyman reworked the overall design early in 2017 the original concept for VV didn’t fit.

Personally I don’t think we’ll see anything more significant added to the VV screen, certainly not taunting of the players while they are in modes. I could see a new mode where villains taunt you to make specific shots but suspect that would require A/V assets not in the code and some addition speech from the narrator.

Newbie did it. Been fun and frustrating at times with some mods. Most are easy.

I am all done. Whew. Now it's time to break 2-5 bill.

Cats are up and alive....blinking at times versus constant on.

What you guys think??

Have a great day.

I had the craziest magnetic encounter today. Think Area 51 and play some Skully Music.

The ball I swear was eaten buy something, kinda like the American Gods Lady...well you know what I mean if you have seen that.

When the ball appeared it hit the two hard targets, bat computer and then swirled around and hit the other. Whoa Batman Reward.

I hope someone else can join my hallucinations.

B I Z A R R E.

No I was not drinking , smoking or anything else . HAHA.

Hey guys, Joined the club recently buying a used BM66 with under 400 plays. I am having some flipper issues(they go dead before ball drains sometimes or while you are holding (cradling a ball). With out looking through the whole thread has anyone seen this or know if there is a fix. (node board?) (flipper switch?)
Any help would be appreciated

Congrats on the PIN. I love it .

Someone will post soon to help you out. This is a great group.

Did the used BM have any mods?

A complete reach guess based on the info but do check that the switch at the coin door is fully engaged as that disables high voltage. Also test that all the trough switches are functioning correctly as it may be assuming a ball entered the end switch signaling game over. The trough is a guess. Do check all plugs and connectors.

Love my BM66 and am thinking it could be a long term keeper (have had it 9 months with tons of play). I'm contemplating getting some kind of invisible type glass for it, but my one concern is that my machine is fairly dimplely. Would Invisiglass just make the dimples that much more apparent. Still worth it?

Are you asking if clearer glass would make those dimples easier to see? If so; yes - it will.

However, invisiglass also makes everything else seem clearer too, so if you can see past the dimples it will be a great upgrade.

Thanks, I am pretty sure it is not coin door switch but will check it tomorrow(i don't recall seeing a coin door interlock sw). I will check trough switches as well but last night I was playing and both flippers went on and off intermittently . Also cant seem to get it to happen when I first turn the game on but 6hrs later is when it starts to happen. I did check and re seat all connectors on the node board closest to the flippers.
Thanks for the help guys

I have only had one game with invisiglass (hobbit black arrow). I would offer another option of getting some stadium type lights (DIY or pinstadium, either would be great). I barely notice glare on my BM66 that has stadium lights installed with the standard glass. Plus it brightens up the game.

I don't think the dimples are as noticable on this game.
Mine is lifetime 736 plays (may be a bit higher, but got it later in the code life).

You have to get close and look in the reflection to see them well.

A big source of dimpling is from airballs coming off the carousel targets, if your getting a lot of airballs off of those targets you might have to adjust the height a little bit most likely needing to lower it.

I agree. The lights are expensive, but they are nice too. I posted a bit ago in this thread, that I would take them over the antiglare glass as they provide light and reduce glare.

Thinking of ordering the Pin Stadiums.... suggestions etc...?

Get the "Hover" install kit. Will work well on this title and is SO much easier when you want to life the playfield.
They do take a little more patience to install, but worth it.
And hook the UV flashers to the shaker motor. This way they go off whenever exciting action occurs in the game.
