What is the SLE speech? Was this something to do with the the names of purchasers who was supposed to be in the code?

I was wondering that as well....

Yes. Personalized callouts for SLE buyers.

Then why did they add it to the Premium Code???
Quoted from AUKraut:Then why did they add it to the Premium Code???
I was assuming the same readme file was used for all 3 versions.
so I finally got the game to recognize the usb stick and started the update process. I chose "full install no verify". It's been stuck on 292/5707mb for about 10 minutes now. Do spike 2 games freeze a lot during code updates? Is it safe to turn it off and back on again to restart the update process?
Was there a table or list of the SLE speach. I think I saw it posted before.
Also how does the software distinguish an SLE game between an LE?

SLE serial numbers are matched to the custom name callout of each owner. The software knows which callout to use by the serial.

Only bm66 freezes for me a lot. Yes restart when stuck.

Welcome to the club; you're gonna love it!
Serious question...why is the LE so much more expensive than premium? Any gameplay difference? There is a local LE for sale but I’m not really inclined to pay the difference.

Art package, armor, topper and Adam West autograph. If those don’t matter, consider a Premium.

The LE has the perfect topper for the game and one of Stern's best. Also the black flake armor is a nice upgrade.

LE has very cool interactive topper, different translite, different cabinet art (that I much prefer) metal flake powder coated bat wing armor and legs (same as SLE) Adam West signature, art blades ect.. as for if it’s worth the extra money or not, only you can decide. They only made 240 of them so they are much more limited than a standard LE. Stern just sold an Elvira SLE and it comes with different art and a piece of Elviras couch and it cost $5000 more than the LE (insane) but it sold out same day.
Quoted from Thunderbird:Absolutely zero difference in game play. In fact the PF is the exact same as the premium. Only cabinet, translite artwork and topper are the difference. Save your money and get the premium with all the improvements over the old LE. Example: new premium cabinet is miles better than the old LE cabinet made several years ago. I had that cabinet and it felt like I could pick it up and toss it, compared to the new premium cabinet with reall plywood, corner bracing, etc. Numerous improvements on the PF as well.
I think you are overstating this, I’ve played all versions except the SLE and I didn’t notice a difference in cabinet feel, make sure your cabinet has the Williams style brackets and you will be fine with any of them.
Quoted from marksf123:The LE has the perfect topper for the game and one of Stern's best. Also the black flake armor is a nice upgrade.[quoted image]
For me the topper, cabinet art and translite made the decision for the LE. Especially the topper. It doesn’t do as much as some, but it is a perfect fit for the game. I also like that the LE is actually limited, not like some games with 500, 600 or 800 copies.
Quoted from MightyGrave:The le Topper is top notch. As a Premium owner i'm fine with my diy Topper
Your topper looks good - just not sure I like your translite.

I thought the LED lights were cool

Shaker as well

?? How?
LE is the best Bat66, if you can find one. That topper is awesome! Like the armor and red habit trail too. Would love to buy the topper.
Does anyone know where one can be purchased? I know Stern didn’t sell them separately, which is unfortunate, but makes the LE elite because of it.
I love the LE topper and the cabinet artwork. Just a shame they made so few of them at such a high price. Oh well.
Quoted from Thunderbird:Would love to buy the topper.

Your only realistic option is to buy the topper (and control boards in the back box) from an existing LE/SLE owner. But I can’t imagine any LE wanting to sell the most visible part of an LE.
(You are correct about the cabinets. New ones are significantly better than those during LE production. But adding WMS style cabinet supports should provide enough protection, especially in a typical home environment).

Thanks! I removed my cabinet comment for fear I offended any LE owners. LE cabinet is fine, just put in corner bracing like you said.

The Villains topper you might be able to find. I have one and I added the bat signal to mine and it all hooked up perfect. Bat signal works with game play.
For some reason on Batman 66, when install new code I get issues with quick mode vs full. I have had to install full on updates with quick updates freezinh. Only game I have had issues with is Batman. Never had issue on any other game.

Fat chance. I've been trying to buy one for a while now

That was my polite way of saying “highly unlikely”.
I know of one person who converted a Premium into an LE (except the playfield autographs) but he was able to get parts from Stern that he shouldn’t have been able to get. I don’t think many are going to be successful in their quest to get an LE topper added to a Premium game.

I have a pinball refinery SLE "clone". Just need that darn topper!
Performed the latest update and was greeted with a blown Node Board 8. This is such fu**ing bulls**t!!! Both service bulletin fixes were implemented within weeks of release. These things are literally ticking time bombs! Marco has no stock of these boards. I'm literally at the mercy of Stern to avoid having a $7000+ paperweight. What the Hell is the point of owning these machines if they are so fragile and parts support only lasts 5 years?
Bat fans so to answer the question some have asked yes this update is indeed the update the SOTU has been telling us about for the last 6months.

If the node board went kaputt during a software update I’d be on the phone with Stern and nicely explain the situation to them, they may cover the replacement even if it’s outside of warranty.
After a month of waiting, my Catwoman edition is coming next week! Should I update right away? Or does the Catwoman edition come with a fairly decent code to begin with?
Also, are Catwoman editions still in production? I feel like I lucked out, I got the last one from my distributor.

I'd update right away (if necessary) and be done with it before you have any high scores to be lost.

Yes I've already sent an email to Chas with less colorful language. Their support has always been fantastic. Even if they sent a replacement I'm still worried about future availability of these boards. I honestly believe Stern does not want these machines to last longer than 5-10 yrs max. They want to keep selling new machines and not compete with themselves.

Well then, this was a bigger let down then that time my Viagra pills didn't work.

Williams were only supposed to last - few years?
This is supply and demand. If there are enough games, and there is demand for parts, someone will make them. There are a lot of Spike games out there now. A lot.

It’s all about the node boards. They are specific to the game and Stern isn’t going to make them forever. Will someone else make them or will Stern even let them?
Older games are easier to fix. It will be interesting to see how it works out in the long run.
Quoted from imagamejunky:I have a pinball refinery SLE "clone". Just need that darn topper!
A member made 2 or 3 topper clones and showed them off either in this thread or somewhere else. Can't recall. He was not selling, just showing his skills. With the right tools and materials, a reasonable facsimile can be made, but without exact and full integration due to the missing control boards. At some point, I'll bug my buddy with a SLE and do some scanning and measuring, etc.

I really hope someone is able to make them so we can enjoy these awesome games for a long time to come.
