Quoted from TronGuy:

hey guys maybe this has been covered, and maybe it's truly the opinion of each owner, but what are you guys doing for pinblades?
I see a few out there.
I don't need 10 links I suppose, I have found a few. I see one style from pingraffix that looks like the city of gotham, and another style that looks similar with some POW , WHAM, BOP, type of words on it.

You can get the ones put in the LE/SLE designed by Chris Franchi, "Thunk Crash Clank Awkkk Arrrrgh Bonk Pow Crunch" against a city scape background. They look great!

Wondering if my left ball guide is off?

From watching some gameplay vids on YouTube, seems the ball guide should feed to the left flipper, but mine goes to the top or side of slings.

Can any who gets a feed to their flipper, share a photo of the guide as it meets the rubber post.

That's just about where my guide is and goes to the left flipper most of the time. Re-check your level from left to right, check the front and rear to make sure you're good.

Do the metal corner braces look like something that could be easily added to earlier games? I can’t really tell from the pics.

Goo

Quoted from Sutol:

Yes as I have some fitted on mine which stern kindly sent over. Only problem though was the bolt that comes through the side armour on our early pins is not long enough to fit the corner brace onto and then put its nut back on.This has your ground braid attached.
Stern again sorted me out with a couple of extended bolts which I swapped out and all sorted.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Very nice!!!...Think I'll call Chas tomorrow

I find that if I spend $20-$200 a day it doesn't seem like I'm putting $9k into my machine all at once.

What are you guys doing (if anything) for button protectors (hand wear)?

I think when I got my star trek pro 6 years ago I bought something clear plastic sheet that stuck to the cab. Is there any super cool batman themed button wear protectors out there?

edit: also are you guys installing those plastic leg protectors on all new sterns automatically? do they come from stern with them? Sorry for being a newbie clown, I just haven't been in the pin-owning scene for awhile.

Pinball Life sells some nice side rails that cover up the button area, very easy to install.

The guide is sort of angled as you see in my photo. Is yours the same?

My guide is less than halfway to the center of that post, maybe 30% of the way covered. From the photo it looks as if yours is about the same. Maybe post a side shot.

I’m thinking of turning off my shaker motor to avoid the risk of it causing node board damage. I don’t remember too many places it’s used in the game.

Does anyone think it adds significantly to the game experience? Is disabling it too much of a nervous Nellie move?

#13363 4 years ago

For those of you who had swapped out the Dog chew toy phone for the Mod couple's upgrade phone, did you guys pull the whole turn table to reach that dam plug? I read the instructions like six times and cannot reach that plug no matter what. Yes bat computer plugs etc are all disconnects as well.

You should be able to to do it without removing the turntable. A set of picks and hooks from harbor freight work great for helping reach things like that connector inside the bottom of the turntable.

I used a hemostat to push the wire through on mine. On another, I pushed the harness wire up from underneath and was able to connect the extension cable that came with the kit.

Adjust your shaker motor by moving one weight side ninety degrees and then you’ll have the best of both worlds.

#13369 4 years ago

Unless you physically throw your shaker motor at your node board, it will not hurt it.

If the phone mod is harder than the Atomic Pile to install, I’ll pass. Famous last words, “ easy to install”

Quoted from Budman:

It was a PIA for me, but so worth it to get rid of the chew toy to have a more realistic bat phone look and room to add Shakespeare bust there as well.

#13372 4 years ago

A YouTube video would sure help a guy like me.... their pictures really are not clear quality and thus not very useful.

#13373 4 years ago

But then you would hear all the curse words during the install process lol.

#13374 4 years ago

Maybe I just got lucky, but I had no problems installing either the Batphone or the Atomic Pile. I did use a forceps to guide the wire.

Fellas, two things please....

1. I installed the last update just a few days ago, I played yesterday for the 1st time since the update and my Stern Bat Signal doesn’t works at all, never had troubles at all before... any ideas what’s the issue or what can I check please?
2. I just saw the topper was "ON" while playing in a Bat-Turn Mode... (It is just the only way to see the Dynamic duo topper "ON"?)

Thank you

Can someone help me with the rules?

1. How do you know when you finish a minor villain?

2. Is there a way to switch between screens? For example, when you stack a minor villain with multiball, you get two screens, a large one and a small one. Is there a way to switch them on the display?

1. You should see the villian behind bars animation on the screen.
2. Hold the lockdown bar button for a second or so and it will switch through your active modes, including bat-turn.

Speaking of Bat-turn, what exactly is Bat-turn?

#13380 4 years ago

On a complete side note, I ordered my Batman '66 Catwoman Edition from Cointaker yesterday, so I'll officially part of the club in a few weeks!

#13381 4 years ago
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

Speaking of Bat-turn, what exactly is Bat-turn?

That's where you are shooting for the rotating bat mobile:

Building Value And Starting Bat Turn
This is a 40 second timed mode with a base shot value determined by switch hits to the spinning post batmobile feature prior to starting the mode. Each switch registered to the batmobile spinner adds 25,000 to the value, which starts at 500,000. Hitting the spinner 10 times will light bat turn mode at the atomic pile, this will be indicated by a blue insert at the turntable. Additional starts require +2 hits to the batmobile spinner with a maximum of 20 hits.

An additional 20 seconds can be awarded via mystery award
The Mr. Freeze minor villain award freezes this mode timer (and hurry up?).
This mode can stack with all other modes.
Switch hits to the pop bumpers and Penguin scoop temporarily pause the timer. (?)

Bat Turn Rules
After starting bat turn all major shots will light blue and a hurry up based on your built value will appear on the screen. Hitting any major shot will award the current hurry up value and un-light that shot. Hitting the batmobile relights all shots and resets the countdown value, with all successive spins adding more points. The minimum hurry up value is 250K.

When bat turn is running while the turntable is in the villain vision position, it has slightly different rules. In this case the hurry up value freezes, all shots are re-lit if they’re not already, and score 2X the bat turn value. Shots made will un-light and re-light the previous shot made.

Did you create your own or use one from the database?

Made my own, as I wanted all purple.
It’s really easy to do. Let me know if you have any questions.

#13384 4 years ago

Not long ago someone had a problem with their LCD screen on the villian vision. The screen came loose and was slanted. Well, mine just did the same thing. I fixed the screen, plugged it back in and now the screen is on but no video. Can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. I did run the node test on the tv and it was fine.....Confused.

Update......Got a hold of Chas at Stern. My ribbon connector separated from the screen.

2. Hold the lockdown bar button for a second or so and it will switch through your active modes, including bat-turn.

Beyond the animation, the corresponding season insert between the flippers will be lit solid, this is helpful with shame as the mode keeps running.

Yes indeed Thunder, just happened after I installed the new code, never had troubles with the Bat-Signal before.

Ok, here are some pics of the left guide rail. Not sure if it's apparent in the pics, but the it's on an angle with the bottom closer to the rubber post.

Does this look right? It feeds to the left sling, and never the flipper.

I just tried adjusting mine a bit too with some partial success. Maybe just try to bend it out a bit. Try something with a bigger surface area to get a flatter bend if that makes sense. Like try a butter knife between the guide and the post.

Yeah, that might work. Just don't want to slip and tear into the pf.

So can anyone confirm that the angle it's on is correct or not?

Would love to assist but I have no idea what your games issue is. That rail goes to the left sling return, thats the game.

Think he's talking about the left loop guide. Sometimes the ball hits the left sling on a right-left loop or ball launch. Mine does that on a slow shot, but a good clean shot/launch it goes to the flipper. You can try and bend it out slightly - but not too much as you don't want to make the entrance to the left loop any narrower than it already is.

When the ball orbits around, and exits the left side, it drops down to the top part of the left sling, and often ends up going into the right drain. Doesn't seem right, and the angle of the left ball guide is oddly slanted.

I don't have editing software on my phone, but here's the best I could do.

Does this look right?

That sharp metal lip there makes me mad, it chews up the balls crazy quick. I ended up bending the end of the guide inward to fix it.

Also, the ball guide is slightly adjustable if you loosen the lower mounting screw under the plastic. Set it as you like then tighten it up.

Can you post a pic?

And does the ball feed to the flipper?

Adjusting the rail dialed in the feed to where I wanted it, the bend in the rail I did was to get rid of the sharp metal edge, not to adjust the feed. (I did have to re-adjust after bending the rail)

It would have been much easier if I did... I tried to remove it but I couldn't seem to lift it out as the alignment pins were really wedged in.
