So an answer to my previous question on the ball lock not working. I had approximately 100 plays on my nib machine. The game wouldn’t lock the ball in multiball, the diverter would open and immediately close. The coil wasn’t fully opening as the diverter was hitting the back loop.

I took apart the set screw, with thread lock it was really hard given it’s size to not snap the Allen. I opened the diverter fully and manually operated the coil tightening the set screw. Relaxed both and multiball lock and diverter are working well.

I have a chrome candy batman lockdown button decoration, brand new, I'm selling. It's the plain one without any additional letters or writing you can buy to cover up the sorta lame factory sticker. Bought it for 49 bucks, would sell for 33 shipped if anyone is interested. Perfect shape, never used.

Concerning keeping it simple, I have two suggestions:

1 - Get good at the left orbit, it's probably the most important shot in the game.

2 - Save our Gadgets for Minor Villains.

#11455 5 years ago

Gordon shot 2x before hitting the scoop (or any other Major Vil mode shot) makes multiball worth 2x and gives you +4x bonus. If you don't cash in the 2x MB in this villain, if you do it again on your next major villain, you'll get 3x MB scores.

Exactly the same points I try and do when playing. That left orbit is super important but it also feels great when hit, for some reason really love that left orbit shot more than others.

I was just looking at the rule sheet on the Tilt Forums Wiki, it is based on code 0.88. I have to assume it needs to be really flushed out. I am not well enough versed in the rules to attempt it (hence the reason I was over there looking at the rules). Anyone who is very up tp date on the rules care to update it? Can anyone go update it?? I am not sure how that works over there.

Thanks, Dave

Because the code is running wild now I started playing BM66 almost every day. :X

Is that from a SLE? Or added to a LE?

Right!

I have a fun weekend competition for the group!

It’ll sharpen your skills - or frustrate you to hell. Hahaha!

Post your highest Batphone hurry up score, from today. NO OLD PHOTOS!

Ideal time to do it, cause most have installed the new code and the scores are reset.

Competition starts now - and finishes midnight Sunday, West Coast USA time.

Rules:
- must be new photos, taken in the above time period
- must be on new code - 0.99
- glass must be on! No cheating!
- photos must be as per below, one photo entering your name, and one of the high batphone score.

Fun times for all!!

Winner gets a beer of their choice, straight from their own refrigerator.

I’ll start it off.

All we need now is a Bat Climb mode:

FYI: first attempt, outlanes wide open, small post rubbers on outlanes, glass was on, and I guess a little bit of luck too

Apperently my shot was tripled instead of doubled. I wasn't aware of this rule, how does it work to triple your shots?

I love the idea of a bat climb mode but wouldn’t you have to get permission from all the actor’s to use them? Unless you just make it a generic mode.

The lane multipliers awarded from hitting the commissioner Gordon shot can apply to the bat phone total.

3 hits lights a x2 that can be applied to any lane, (except left orbit) then 4 hits for x3, and up to 7 hits for x6.

Right. Off to get 500m now. It’ll be a mission!

Haha my hands are still shaking!

Maybe one of the coolest things I’ve done playing pinball ... the whole family was gathered around riding on every BONG of the Gordon standup lollll

We were so excited I fucked up the photo taking procedure — cause it also was grand champion score so I got flustered and forgot to take that photo (Just installed new code yesterday)

But this was pretty awesome. I knew I had to do “the thing” and ... I did “the thing”. Which is always great, and it’s what keeps me playing pinball every day.

I noticed something interesting today concerning the priority of Mystery award to the final ball lock and awarding Batcave Multiball vs. the Minor Villain award. So, today I had a really great game after about 10 dismal games yesterday. I had two balls locked, two Minor Villains captured, and the TV insert lit on the left orbit along with Mystery insert lit. I hit a solid left orbit and was hopeful, obviously, to start a Minor Villain and then soon follow up and get a right orbit shot afterwards to get multiball going. But, the Mystery award was the third ball lock and the game went straight to Batcave multiball without giving me a chance to start the Minor Villain. So, I thought okay, I don't like that but it does make sense, as the sequence is Mystery award first and then TV insert/Minor Villain award.

But in that same game, on the next (extra) ball I had all Major Villains collected and was in a similar but not the same situation. The Villain Escape bat signal was flashing and that same unawarded as yet TV insert was lit on the left orbit to start a Minor Villain. So, I hit a solid left orbit and voila, I got to select the Minor Villain "before" going into Villain Escape, which was great, until I played my sorriest ever Villain Escape round and ended the game without ever capturing that last Minor Villain. But that's another story.

So, to sum it up. If you have Mystery award and TV insert lit at the left orbit and you have two balls locked, you'll probably go straight to multiball and not get a chance to select your Minor Villain on the same left orbit shot. If you have Villain Escape bat signal flashing and the TV insert lit at the left orbit, you'll get to select and start your Minor Villain prior to starting Villain Escape. Obviously, I wish we could get the Minor Villain going first in that Mystery award of multiball situation as well. Or, pause the multiball until we can get to select the Minor Villain, since both are allowed to be selected on the same left orbit shot in all other scenarios. Has anyone else experienced this scenario, and if so, what do you think about it?

#11484 5 years ago

Talking of finished code - it seems the last bunch of minor villains implemented just seem to be copies of the first few. Like placeholders. I really hope this gets addressed and they're all different.

Tick tock it’s almost 12 o’clock!

Bzzzzzzz competition is over. Good times!

Had an enthusiastic competitor trying it this morning - unfortunately he kept starting the modes.

As far as me, i tried hard to crack 1 billion.

I got EXACTLY THE SAME SCORE again!!

952,500,000!

Then I got 940m

I had the countdown well over 200m with 5x multiplier ready to hit in 3 separate games, and drained. My slings are brutal, they just fire the ball out the side if they get a chance.

But eventually, I did beat the 952,500,000 this morning.

Yes confirmed and no worries this will be fixed in the future.

Thanks @MK6PIN! I was feeling so proud of myself tonight having replaced a micro-switch, complete with soldering, for the very first time! My right upper PF kickout switch was screwed up, so balls weren't kicking out like they should. And, then I get on Pinside and see your finalized left ramp! I'm feeling a little deflated at the moment...

#11492 5 years ago

Played first game today with 0.99. I captured all 4 major villains, the 4th on the "extra" ball. All 4 villain lights were solid, the bat signal was flashing below them, but for the most part, the PF went pretty dark. Is there something I'm supposed to do after they're captured to start villain escape? There were no instructions on the display and I tried several different shots i.e. super jackpot. I drained before I could get anything to happen. I've captured all 4 before and I don't remember PF going dark. Is this a glitch or did I need to hit a special shot once they're captured to start villain escape? Could it have something to do with it being on the "extra" ball? I would really appreciate someone's help so I'll know if I need to contact Stern. Thanks guys!

#11493 5 years ago

After capturing the final Major Villain, the Batsignal flashes on the playfield and back of game. Shoot a solid left orbit all the way around to the upper right saucer to start Villain Escape. I can’t remember the lighting, though I guess it would dim a bit to highlight the Flashing Batsignal. The problem is the Adrenalin of being on your final ball and having a must-make shot. That’s been enough to dim my vision a few times.

#11494 5 years ago

@bamatami you have to hit the Riddler saucer to start Villain Escape.

#11495 5 years ago

THANKS!!! This fixed my issues!

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Had same issue. Fix: pull up table and directly below the Joker target is two nuts. Slightly loosen both and turn joker target clockwise as far as you can. Which won’t be much, but enough to straighten target away from lodging into metal divider on top of PF. Retighten and problem solved. It will remain straight and won’t lodge anymore. Issue is: hitting that target over and over lossens nuts and target goes crooked, then divider lip lodges target. Don’t know why Stern put that lip on the divider.

Don't be deflated....keeping the game running tip top is most important...if you only knew what I went through to get that $#^% ramp done, it would make you feel better....

Start at the left orbit into the scoop, which is the Bat Signal shot. Not the most obvious thing in the world, but makes sense once you realize it. Start shot is the same as before, but the light show dimming is new and adds a nice bit of atmosphere. I can't wait to see what Lyman does with the light show once he's done!

Guys I had a ball jam tonight and found a broken bulb from the left slingshot flew in the ball return, I fixed it but noticed while the glass was off the main spinner seems to be making a rather loud noise when turning. I lefted the playfield and ran the tests and I cant see anything in the way. Here is a video with the noise in test mode. Thoughts? Its working properly but in a years time ive never noticed this.

I'd have to go listen to mine again, but I don't hear anything unusual about yours.

There's a constant noise, and then as it spins a louder noise. I am not sure how all the gears work, but it's noisy.

Do you guys think 1.0 will arrive this week? The past few updates were released in an interval of two weeks each... Or they might take longer to make 1.0 beautiful? Or they are even fooling with us by releasing 0.99.1
