We must look like a bunch of hapless buffoons to Stern. They've got our pre-order BM66 money and we're strutting around complaining like Peacocks making honking noises every Thursday like we have some clout in the matter. Stern couldn't give a rat's ass about us and that's crystal clear right now, even us big spender $10K plus regular LE buyer folks. Four hundred LE-buying idiots will jump on GotG sight unseen in a few weeks and we'll be forgotten. I feel like a sack of sh@t being a part of this mess, but what can we do? Keep our wallets in our pockets when GotG is announced and that's the only game we got.

I'm done with new Stern until this is worked out, which looks like it may be a long time. My original estimate based on the progress so far was April 1, 2018 (really, great coincidence), but maybe it will be even later than that.

Houdini and JJP#4 are plenty for the next 6 months. In my book JJP has earned the trust Stern seems to not care about.

Just posted on the FB page ( again), they might respond, or I might get banned. I’m hoping the former. This is just too important of a title for them, and us. So much passion has been poured into this game by so many...something real is needed regarding communication to all. I just don’t get it....

I know you read the forums, move closer to the monitor, no closer closer thanks that's it ! I have purchased about $120,000 worth of Stern Pinballs from you, moving forward I will not be purchasing anymore Sterns from your company. Why you say ! well im glad you asked why, it's because I payed $14,500 for a Bat66 LE and you keep pumping out machines without looking after you client base.

Lean back from that chair, take a deep breath and take control, focus and walk out of that office and ask Mr Sheats why the code hasn't been released. Then come back here and tell your customers the latest news.

If you can do that for me from waaaay over here in Australia I would appreciate that.

If Mr. Sheats was allowed to work full time only on BM66 code from the start I believe it would be further along. I don't believe any blame lies with Lyman but Stern management.

Well spoken - but at this time I think that Stern not himself but as a company is simply over-challenged with the SPIKE(2) system. And they know it, but there is no way that they will confess. Either the architecture is not well designed or it is badly implemented, so software development is a pain in the a**.

It took several days to come up with a bugfix for a fairly simple issue which unfortunately could grill a node board (Star Wars).

This pretty much sums up the "A dark night for Stern" thread - Stern isn't addressing the concerns of its customer base.

That customer base has to apply pressure by keeping their wallets closed. It's up to each and every one of us to help, no matter how enticing a new title/theme may be. We might miss a game or two we might otherwise by at release or miss out on an LE, but if we don't change our actions, Stern will certainly never change theirs.

"Over 2 weeks ago we were told there would be a BM66 update "very soon", or within a week, or 2 weeks depending on who was asked and where . Now it has been over 2 weeks and we don't even have the code that was good enough for the people to play at Expo. We trusted you when we ordered bought this game with unfinished code - if you can't provide the code that was promised perhaps at least a little honest communication with your customers?"

I don't care if I get banned from their Facebook - frankly I'm about to remove them from mine.

Wow - that's crap. You paid them thousands of dollars, gave an opinion on your purchase (and one that I view as mostly positive), and they banned you.

It seemed to play ok at the expo. It didn't have a ton of new stuff in it but what was there was still better than a few more weeks of radio silence.

I looked at that a while back and there is no menu option to back up the code like their used to be. Must be on purpose.

Regardless of some vocal negativity around some sort of expectation for an epically coded Kiss game, Kiss is fine and always has been where it was expected to be; a reasonably deep and varied game in line with Lonnie's history. Expecting a whole lot more was just not very reasonable. Look at AS as well, VL has offered up multiple reasons to point out that AS is not as well coded as Kiss... and AS remains higher rated. Kiss is pretty well coded. Other than that, it's just another Stern game needing a bit of coding housework. TWD still needs a code update to fix a few glaring bugs too. (and TWD housekeeping is now pushing two years)

I expected Stern to release BM66 code by/at Expo because of the obvious. The optics are even worse now; people hopefully will consider this when looking at future NIB pin purchases. I will.

I hope all you BM66 owners get a great Lyman coded pin soon. Get the code out Stern.

I thought George said they would put it on any Batman66 games that were at the show (there was one in freeplay area the start of the show but it was gone after first day). I don't recall him saying they would give out the code via USB for people to bring to their home games.

All this hope for code is like flogging a dead horse or in this case trying to make humour out of this shitty situation flogging a shark.

I wonder if Stern knows that we're practically rebuilding the machine (wire form, atomic pile, etc) while waiting for code drop. At this rate we'll all have custom playfields in our machines before this damn thing is near finished.

multi-part storylines. After each part, the Penguin VUK will light
for Super Jackpot, which allows the player to either quit out of the
mode or continue to the end. Scores increase by 1x each stage.
- Implemented a setting that allows the user to turn on/off major villain
mode collect/continue during multiball.
- Added topper light effects to the parts of the game where Batman and
Robin are in the Batmobile.
- Added an adjustment to allow or deny gadget use to hurry-ups
(cliffhangers). Added additional shots for gadgets (GADGET TARGETS).
Removed gadget use for super jackpot and collect/continue.
- Removed batcave sequence timer.
- Added video clips, sounds, light effects, and speech.
- Added custom speech from Adam West and Burt Ward.
- Batphone hurry-up now handled as choreography (stack w/ super skill
shot, tilt warning, etc.).
- Award major villain shot on penguin VUK before super jackpot or
collect/continue.
- RGB arrow (blue) would be lit to indicate batturn start when the
turntable was facing in a direction where batturn could not start.
This has been corrected.
- Reset batcave targets at the start of a new major villain mode.
- Implemented light lock difficulty for main multiball.
EXTRA EASY = ONE TARGET LIGHTS ALL LOCKS.
EASY = ONE TARGET LIGHTS ONE LOCK, WITH STACKING.

The file sizes are different than previous updates. Like a couple of previous updates, this one has two files. But instead of roughly 3.7GB and 300K files sizes, this one has two that are similar in size, about 1.6GB and 1.9GB in size. One for game code and one for Spike II updates?

I think this is more than was at expo just going by the read me list. I dont think cliffhangers at expo were for all the villains like they appear to be in this drop.

Wonder what this means:
Added additional shots for gadgets.

Looks like Batgirl is in the intro now.

This is confusing,near the top it says this:
Removed batcave sequence timer

Than later on it says this:
Batcave sequence combo shot is now timed

I'm supposed to be watching Stranger Things tonight with kids so I wont get to it until later. Keeping fingers crossed all my node boards survive the update.

Credit where credit is due. On facebook, they talked about the biggest features of this release. They also said they are planning for another release around Thanksgiving, and then another at Christmas.

That's all I think we wanted. Not to be kept in the dark. (and some awesome code lol)

Can anyone tell me if a 16GB Sandisk stick will work? The one I can't find was 8GB.

Loads of little Lymanesque touches to overall theme integration:

- The Cliffhangers
- Added video clips, sounds, light effects, and speech.
- Added custom speech from Adam West and Burt Ward.
- Batcave sequence and police headquarters take priority over primary shots for major villains.
- Added villain vision effects - really want to know if this is the early foundations for the Villain Taunts....?
- Added Batgirl animated intro to attract mode. This is displayed whenever Batgirl is seen anywhere in the previously played game (Villain Escape).
- Added episode-specific batphone hurry-up video clips.
- Reworked the batphone hurry-up so the hurry-up clips are retrieved from the individual episodes.
- Added rules to pre-batcave sequence (gordon target hit before making
the first shot in a major villain mode):

Just some of the highlights that jumped out at me, but the bonus of the update has to be the added topper light effects to the parts of the game where Batman and Robin are in the Batmobile.

I will say it again "THANK YOU LYMAN" this update oozes passion and your clearly putting a lot of thought into making the game play out like an episode of the show would which is simply awesome!

I didn't, but this is my first code drop since I got the machine in July. We are supposed to get emails, right? I just sent an email to Stern and told him that other owners are not receiving emails about updates, fixes, etc. I'll post when they give me an answer.

I didn't, but this is my first code drop since I got the machine in July. We are supposed to get emails, right? I just sent an email to Stern and told him that other owners are not receiving emails about updates, fixes, etc. I'll post when they give me an answer.

In the past we have received the CG emails within a day or so,of the code being posted on the website. Makes sense in case some of the early downloaders find a nasty bug.

One more quick question. In earlier posts, it was suggested that you use the "Stack Villians" mode, so I have been. Is there any advantage and/or disadvantage to doing this? What mode are you playing and why do you like it better? Thanks!

For anyone wondering, this update adds a TON in terms of personality. It felt like there was a lot more video. More callouts. It felt like what I expected it to be. I'm not saying there isn't a lot to do to finish it, but this update is the first real taste at when I think the finished product will feel like.

I picked up Star Wars when it first came out, and it felt very robust in terms of where the code was at on release. Almost like a complete game. That's where I'd say Batman 66 is, now.
