Since the update to code .69 the magnet sometimes grabs the ball and won't let it go.

I have to take the glass off to move it or turn the game off. With the glass of, I played until it did it again and tried to pull the ball off. There was some resistance but once it was off the magnet stopped.

Only played 50 or 60 games so I don't think the balls are magnetised, I think the magnet is staying on.

Anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Cheers

Magnet would get real hot if on.

I suspect balls or magnet pole has become magnetized.

call stern. It's under warranty

If that is the case, wouldn't it do it every time not just sometimes?

Does it take some force to get the ball off the magnet ? If so you could have transistor leakage.

Not a lot of force by hand but I cant nudge it loose. It tilts.

Can you stick the ball back onto the magnet after you take it off ?

Can you stick the ball onto another ferrous object to check it for magnetization?

No

Sounds like residual magnetism. Try some new balls in it.

After only 50-60 games?

If the answer is no, I would think there is no residual magnetism.

A buddy had this issue with his Iron Man VE. Game one with new balls and it would still stick. In the end, a mild adjustment in slope helped a ton. I think that the core can stay partly magnetized. Raise the back up a touch more and see if it happens less often.

Absolutely. Cheap, shitty balls can become magnetised VERY quickly. I found a good way to test them for residual magnetism is take them out of the game and rest them on the glass/lock down bar of an adjacent game. You can then make them touch each other and gently pull a ball. If they are magnetised they will stick and move together. Sometimes it is just one ball that is the problem.
