Its clear the majority of folks don't like this application process for a SLE. It seems Stern should of kept 15 and replaced 8 LEs with 8 SLEs and 7 Prems with 7 SLEs and used a golden ticket approach? i.e. I purchased a Prem but inside the box was an SLE.

"LCDs are cheaper than DMDs" blah blah blah

I don't plan to get a Batman '66 unless I win via the Project Pinball raffle but this thread has given me hours of enjoyment!

I also don't want to go to off-topic (lol) but I was curious to hear peoples thoughts. Do we think the next Pro Stern releases will have an LCD screen and if so, would the street price be what GB is now which is $4999 US? Personally with the limited run of SM Vault that had all new dots I can see Stern going DMD with the next Pro and LCD with Prem/LE.

Quoted from dfsays:

For every Pinsider that feels the B66 pricing structure is unrealistic (bogus?), there are two or three or twenty pinheads more than willing to pay without complaint. Prices will be what the market will bear. Maximize profits, that's what they should be doing.
Stern knows we'll (most of us?) always be here for them. Because where else are we realistically going to go? Anytime soon, that is.

Yea, I would agree with most of what you said..

From my perspective Stern lost a possible sale from me on a Pro but if they making $1000 off a Pro and $3000 off a Prem (just guessing) they just need to sell 1/3 the amount of Prems to make same profit.

Quoted from Mr68:

I was just now told my deposit goes non-refundable immediately without seeing anything of the game. My distributor is a good guy and he said this was a directive from Stern. I told him I understand but I was insulted and I just dropped out.

This was mentioned 3 weeks ago via the interview Nate had with Gomez & Jody, im surprised this is news.

Quoted from kpg:

Unbelievable. They are asking for money sight unseen, then when you do finally see it- and are possibly not happy with the product they are selling- they keep your money? That is ludicrous. They could essentially reveal a pinball cabinet with a literal steaming pile of goat shit instead of a playfield, and keep your deposit then.
Anyone else find this to to be a problem? This is worse then a Kickstarter product.
I don't quite get this hobby sometimes. I don't expect this type of sales tactic from the #1 pinball company in history, - a business with 30 years of experience to pull something like this. The customer essentially has to risk a deposit and gamble if they will like what they see or not, and if they don't, Stern profits and their loyal customers lose.
I know spots can be sold or whatever, but this just doesn't seem right for a company like Stern.

How many times does it have to be stated this is a special anniversary pin. It adheres to some "special" policies which includes a non-refundable deposit which also gets you to see Adam West. If this is an issue, you can buy a Premium after its revealed Oct. 14th, possibly find an LE in the secondary market or wait 18 months for a SLE. If you don't like the game, pass and there are others to choose from including a new Stern most likely to be revealed in January.
