That's Canadian cost. It should be 8K street price for the domestic sales (not MSRP) unless Stern increased the pricing again.

Quoted from rubberducks:

If true that probably means it'll be significantly more than a WOZ Ruby Red or Hobbit Smaug in the UK - currently £8995 (~$11,800). Good luck selling those.
Edit: or are you talking C$ ... ?

Since we are talking about bad guys, check out this link to all of the villains from the 66 tv series. Amazing the amount of comedians and actors they were able to get on the show. Love it.

No a little smaller.

Quoted from frolic:

Is that same as Lebowski?

#965 3 years ago

It's already been stated they are using a 15.6 inch display in the speaker panel so it will be the same size as a atman forever display . I am curious what resolution they will be able to display with the spike 2. Probably something like 384x192 max

C

Quoted from vireland:

Talking about adding color to recent Sterns retroactively, given the coarse resolution of the screen, relatively speaking, a color DMD solution replacing frames as they come would work, even on full video, so the SAM/Spike limits don't really matter. And, since Stern has the source for all these (some of the recent ones were probably created in color, then made monochrome) it wouldn't be like they'd have to color each frame.
Going forward, they could have done a colordmd type thing without upgrading spike, even with a screen 3 or 4x as pixel-dense, and it still wouldn't have been a problem. If they're going the JJP route with a giant screen, then I can see why they just made spoke 2.0 and called it a day. That's too many pixels for a colordmd type solution.

George Gomez said Batman was intended to be a low production run. I assume not only LE but also premium so that makes sense. They will return to unlimited premiums with the next title.

Quoted from lllvjr:

I mentioned this before. I heard premium could be limited to 500

Looks like they are following the TV series episodes with the game content. Season 1 episode 1 is HI DIDDLE RIDDLE....

Quoted from Manimal:

Ugggh, that artwork.
Maybe, just maybe, Gary is really the Riddler! Maybe the details to the new pin and pricing are hidden in a riddle, that only the REAL Batman can solve. What a cruel and twisted mind...........Send up the BatSignal!

I agree, the first pics/videos of Batman 66 will be on October 14th at the Stern reveal, since pictures/vids are no longer allowed at the Stern tour.

Quoted from Manimal:

Yea, not until after expo. They want to make sure the topic is about the new game and not a ghosted playfield.

#2002 3 years ago

Stern already said no pics/video until October 14. Four weeks more for the reveal....

Quoted from OldSchoolBlood:

Ok almost 2000 posts in this thread of speculation. Come on Stern, pics please!!!

Looks like the left side of the cabinet. Maybe the second pic is the right side of the cabinet.

Wasn't the Alien launch originally on the EXPO schedule for Thursday at 8pm? It was changed to Friday at 4pm after the stern events were scheduled.

Quoted from ViolinSteve:

Does that guy have the briefs on backwards? WTH? Frontbutt?
Anyway, I think it sucks that the meet & greet is 3-6pm at the hotel and the Alien/Heighway launch is at 4pm. The Alien launch is an Expo event, the Adam West gig is a Stern event. Poor form.

#3457 3 years ago

What if you go to the seminar at 8pm and go to the (if its happening) party at 9pm? Have it all! Last year the party ran for several hours and it was EXCELLENT. Thanks Andrew!

Quoted from ViolinSteve:

If there is a Thursday evening Twin Peaks party for Heighway, it will likely be like last year, where the front party room of Twin Peaks was reserved. It's a short walk across the parking lot from the hotel. And yes, it will conflict with the 8pm JJP seminar/reveal. It stinks that everyone has conflicting parties/reveals/whatever scheduled at the same time as other manufacturers. I want it all. I don't want to have to choose.

Deposits were definitely to fund the meet and greet. Adam West charges between 20k and 30k to attend a show(there is a website that tracks what stars charge for appearances). Stern has to get the money from somewhere to play him/his agent.

Quoted from MK6PIN:

Thanks....my previous reply never got posted for some reason:
a) I reached out to my distributer today, and he reconfirmed the " will call" list
b) He also stated machine would be at the meet and greet
c) Then reminded me to contact him after I saw it, to let him know if I wanted it or not. We would either stay the course, or he would refund my deposit. I'll be happy to share my thoughts to those that care ( and can't be there) after I see ( and hopefully play) it, but it would be just my personal take from an average ( at best) player, and fan of pinball, period.
d) Said there was a waiting list for the LE's , so all is good.
Hard to believe the deposits were simply to fund the meet and greet. This machine is expensive, and maybe they wanted to verify concept ( like the Alien deposit approach).
I'd like to think that Stern is capable of making an awesome machine, and this 30th Anniversery thing is a chance to prove it. Guess we'll see.
I do feel very comfortable with my position on this title in regards to the deposit.....fwiw....

Can't wait to see a gameplay video. Is this flippable yet?

I saw all 3 models at EXPO and I think the game looks fantastic. Too bad we couldn't play the game, so I look forward to playing the game and see if it plays better and more interesting than TDK. Its expensive, but that's what you get with a low production/limited release.

Quoted from DJNOEL30:

I think it's incredible that all we have are pictures and the SLE candidates have a Nov 4th "snooze or lose" line in the sand to pay the deposit if they really want this thing! Maybe I might change my mind and pull the trigger on the 15K if I had a nice video of the game play! I figured we would all see something by now especially after the expo...

Well you can always get a premium. Same game play, less bling, half the cost. Why not wait to play or see a video?

Are the premiums going to be built in January? I assume they will ship near the end of January? Looking forward to playing it somewhere...

Yes, the decals on the SLE are embossed. You can feel the textures of the images as you run your finger down them. They really pop and were the nicest decals I have ever seen on a pinball.

Quoted from vireland:

The SLE cabinet is printed on reflective foil, kind of like a super version of the KISS LE cabinets (someone said it was embossed, too, but I can't tell from video). You can kind of see the reflective effect in the video on facebook when they pan up the head with Robin. Also, the side rails and lockdown bars are textured and have a metal flake in them so they glitter, and the side rails are custom "batwing" shaped. Speakers and grills are upgraded and comes with a shaker motor.

It looks like it 'sold well' already. 80 sle, 240 LE already sold to distributors. Any premiums they sell will be gravy...
The next PRO will be Aerosmith. You won't see a pro of batman 66

Quoted from hoby1:

IMO this was a perfect game to implement the new system and display with little risk to them while having the consumer absorb the costs. Even if it does'nt sell well it transitions the new platform.
Most all of the tooling, rd and main hardware for the playfield were finished already. Smart move by Stern if you ask me but im not buying

Everytime I see another trading card on a Batman 66 machine it reminds me of the fun I had making the puzzles on the flipside of the card. I assume these are the repro cards, do they still have the puzzle piece on the back? I had the whole collection of cards at one point in my adolescent years...
