Entertainment, free pinball machines to play all night. Etc. Etc. Stern had to rent the venue and pay for the entertainment and workers to haul it all over there and set it up.
Jared running it makes it worth the money alone. He makes things happen.

Not necessarily. Stern's Event is away from Expo and long sold out.
Plenty of people still at Expo that didn't care or didn't know about Stern's Event. So having something great to do at Expo is a good thing. And Pat's game is well worth seeing in depth, not all people are in town Thursday night to see the fireside chat.
And the Friday night Deep Dive may have things besides Pat's game.
So your cost of going to Expo doesn't go up, and you get even more to do. Way to go Mike and Jack !
