Quoted from Grizlyrig:

Intersting to see where that playfield will go.Looks old school with the pop in the middle of flippers like that.

Quoted from o-din:

Looks like the wrong catwoman too as Lee Meriweather was not in the 1966 Batman TV series. She was in the movie and a couple episodes later. It should be Julie Newmar.

Quoted from DCFAN:

If it is an early Stern drawing of the BM66 playfield maybe that circle would be the 2nd LCD screen.

Attention everyone, that playfield is NOT the game, it's one of the two currently ongoing Batman '66 re-themes.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled speculation and nonsense.

Quoted from rotordave:

They've spent $X developing Hobbit, they need to maximise return on $X by selling as many Hobbits as they can, for maximum ROI.

Yet somehow Stern manages to have six or more titles available at the same time.

I wonder if Frolic - Mr. LE - is still in at $20K CDN.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Stern has never - in history - raised prices, only to lower them with a subsequent release.

November / 2012 / Avengers / Pro / $5699
April / 2013 / Metallica / Pro / $4995

Quoted from kpg:

Taking a look at this 2017 Yamaha FZ-10 you can just look at this machine and think, wow, there are some expensive parts on this machine and it probably cost a pretty penny in parts and labor to assemble it.

Comparing a Stern pinball machine, made by a tiny manufacturer in very small numbers - less than 4,000 probably - to a production bike made by one of the largest manufacturers in the world that is probably going to make 50,000-100,000 bikes isn't fair to Stern. They have a much smaller run and don't have thousands of other product lines to offset development and production costs with.

Man, JPop really took the air out of Batman '66.

Quoted from docquest:

Little bit of the Batman 66 whitewood visible in latest facebook post.

Is that Ed Robertson? Getting a little inside info?

Quoted from Manimal:

Let me be the first to throw up just a little. They are failing on all levels on this one........

I dunno, the composition isn't fantastic but the art is good. I wouldn't call it a "fail".

#3185 3 years ago
Quoted from Manimal:

But I figured there would be more surrounding artwork and less cut and paste.

Yeah, it's definitely a little too much "floating head" and not enough cohesive illustration. Like, the GB art is one piece of art for each part - cabinet, backglass, playfield. It doesn't look assembled.

More shit to dust.

Quoted from iceman44:

I'll take my BM66LE

You mean your BM66 Premium?

'Cause that's what you're getting.

#4535 3 years ago
Quoted from taz:

It's looks and price actually make BM66 (non SLE of course), look like the Belle of the Ball.

No, I think Alien is the big winner this year. BM66 is just a re-tread with okay art and an insane price.

#4539 3 years ago
Quoted from iceman44:

No, I think they both are BIG winners. You downgrade BM66 because of price and i get it, but that's irrelevant because they sold out, easy.

No, I downgrade it because it lacks any real features when compared to the other games. I mean, the art is interesting, but it's still a Stern.

Quoted from Mr68:

JJP made a comic book they handed out with an introductory story about this game. Character development and theme.

If you need to read a book to understand the theme, you've failed.

I see a lot of people upset at game prices. I'm certainly in that camp - I can't even afford used games anymore, let alone new ones.

However, from a manufacturing standpoint, selling fewer high priced items is a lot easier than selling a lot of lower priced one. Less parts on hand, less time to build, less after sales support. Easier to run off 200 games than 2,000.
