Quoted from Manimal:

Remember, there are 2 LCD's in this model.....whatever that means. But with that said, it is a stiff price jump. If the LCD is indeed the major cause of the jump, then you could probably estimate 500 to 700 permanent increase per model once things settle back down. And as much as we will all gripe, the price will be paid. The 10K by Christmas is more of a reality than folks think.

if they use this as the justification, then they must truly think their customer base is naive. off the shelf LCD displays (which are widely produced) are a lot cheaper than the custom LED display panel that they've been using for the past 6 years.

I wonder if adam west had to agree to do the meet and greet to be considered and have the opportunity to purchase one of the 30 super LE's (or does he have to fill out the application like the rest of us?

lol to the "science" part of the article:
As part of advancing science, several experiments observing the reaction of frogs to slowly heated water took place in the 19th century. In 1869, while doing experiments searching for the location of the soul, German physiologist Friedrich Goltz demonstrated that a frog that has had its brain removed will remain in slowly heated water, but an intact frog attempted to escape the water when it reached 25 °C

I was amazed to read that a brainless frog remained in the water

what happened here?!? julie newmar looks all paunchy like she just downed a case of beer and a tub of KFC (or someone accidentally didn't maintain the aspect ratio when they resized the image. although, it could be batman's cape throwing everything off

I truly think that the animations have evolved into something that is meant more for the spectators of the game, making pinball a more social event.

simply put, there so much information conveyed with the newer pins, it serves more as sort of a "guide" for those watching, giving them hints as to what to do, rather than for the person currently playing.

heighway's alien may be an interesting evolution and a look at things to come [from other companies] with the 10" display located in the playfield directly above the flipper area (and who knows, stern might be doing the same thing with batman '66).

to me, it's in the perfect position to indicate objectives needed and/or accomplished without the player having to take their focus away from the flippers.

Quoted from Mr68:

The cards I collected as a kid came with a piece of chewing gum. Maybe that's what Stern is including with the $15,000.00 Super LE.

but will that piece of chewing gum be randomly stuck on a playfield plastic, flipper or the translite? and just like the gum in the pack of baseball cards, will it de-value the piece that it's stuck to?

Quoted from docquest:

Where is that rumor coming from? Definitely not looking good though for a Dec delivery at this point.
The Johns Arcade Stern tour video released this week unfortunately didn't show any Batman66's on the floor yet. They were making some harnesses for it though. "Shark" is the Stern internal code name for the game.

they were building harnesses back when they were giving tours during expo in october
