Let's not forget Lyman on TWD. One of best pins ever.

#435 5 years ago
Quoted from Manimal:

Yes, but let's not forget the part where Eric also said they don't have final pricing yet, but their projected sales figure is going to be somewhere from 8500 to 9K Or a bit more on the LE

I was told $10k to $10.5k on the LE.

#446 5 years ago
Quoted from TomGWI:

Was that the super LE price or just the LE?
What was the premium price?

No that was the LE. But that pricing hadn't been settled on yet.

Maybe they saw how people were flipping GBLE's for big money initially, before the PF issues, and figure that 1/2 the total, with an LCD, why not $10k?

At least its "not by christmas"

I didn't ask about the premium.

#559 5 years ago
Quoted from Pimp77:

I find it strange they even announced the Super LEs. Nobody can buy one apparently. Invitation by Gary only? So what's the point in putting it on the flyer other than saying "neener, neener, look what you can't buy"? It's all very weird.

Maybe its the Jpop Batman limited edition? Doesn't really exist

I think the theme, LCD, Gomez and Lyman is gonna be awesome! Lots of $$$? No doubt, compared to Jpop though it's a F ing steal!!!

#587 5 years ago
Quoted from BoozeMarlin:

Just got off the phone with my Stern distributer (GBLE shipped today) and inquired about the new Batman LEs. Said his 20 Batman LE's sold out within an hour.

You are gonna love that GBLE!

#590 5 years ago

Can someone please tell me why everybody is so surprised by this Batman LE and super LE pricing?

JPop got 19 people to pony up $16k or so on MG for what? Nothing.

Then another $10k on RAZA, 125 people. Nothing. Not to mention AIW.

There is a HUGE "collector" market for pinball and its not going away.

Big $$$ to be made off of dummies like myself.

Ring the register, this one's going to be great, I'm loving my GBLE and TWDLE. Batman LE next.

Eventually, the whole "LE" concept will change, evolve, etc. But lots of f ing $$$ to be made in current environment

#593 5 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I'm not. I figured $15,000 and $20,000, respectively.

Hehe, incremental steps Odin. One day?

Who f ing knows

#603 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

Funny to everyone but the folks that ponied up their non refundable deposits. Maybe that's why there are no pics.

Because Stern is trying to F everybody?

I don't think so, deposits are "refundable" and the LE buyers don't give a shit.

The pics are coming and the whiner crybaby crowd will have to suck it or not.

#607 5 years ago
Quoted from eggbert52:

Sneak peak picture of the $10,000 LE

Hell yeah, glad i got my deposit down!

I offend the "pc crowd" every day, all day. The Pez army has taken a break i think.

A vocal minority is ok, knock yourselves out.

#610 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

Sorry iceman but you are ill informed, my distro told me today that Stern's new policy is that the deposits are not refundable. Stern was burned in the past by people backing out of their orders.

LE buyers of which I am a part of do care and shouldn't be asked to pony up over $10k on a machine solely on faith without even a pic.

Ok, my deposit is "refundable" although I'm not refunding it because I'm happy with what's coming.

Stern "burned"? Maybe distributors but not Stern.

$10k for an LE? I don't think that's reality from what I'm told. Maybe there are scalping distros out there but not what I have agreed to.

Pricing will come out in a couple of weeks and if its in line with a modest increase from GBLE based on what I know then I'm in.

We all have a choice, "pony up" or not. Stern has 240 people that did this time, like it or not.

#615 5 years ago

The smart thing to do, as usual, is play it first, decide if you like it or not, then buy a premium or pro later.

Never said I was that "smart".

This time, 30th anniversary, great theme, LCD, etc. I'm in..............................

#616 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

I got one better. I had my distro hold one for me while I get a chance to see pics at least without giving a deposit.

Good for you! I don't need that. Isn't there only one Canadian "distributor"?

My mental images tell me that the "pics" will be awesome! No worries for me.

#618 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

Technically there are more than one but they all must go through Starburst.

Well, I'm glad you have one held for you because this one is gonna be awesome, yes no pics yet, or coding or whatever. Gotta love Lyman? I do

Just gotta believe it makes sense! Little birdies give me much confidence.

#624 5 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

So speculation. What if the game turns out to be - mostly BDK - rethemed (like mostly dead from Princess Bride). New artwork, same crane, Joker can goes away and replaced with a Bat TV, and path of the dead becomes just a ramp with diverter.

It's not. The only thing "vault" is the crane and Batman.

New layout, code, everything else.

#625 5 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

Check the 4:00 minute mark. Sort of cool sequence if they incorporate in game.
Man you can lose a shit load of money in 3 minutes on a video slot.
» YouTube video

Especially that $$$ eating slot, but its fun to play!

Look at the slot video and that's what is going into the LE.

#626 5 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

Check the 4:00 minute mark. Sort of cool sequence if they incorporate in game.

That.....is f ing funny!

Everybody needs to watch this

#632 5 years ago
Quoted from dragdaily12:

My moneys on the layout being close to the same. Not much can change with the crane swing across the pf.... just my thought thi

The GB issues will get resolved for those that have issues.

Onward and upward and Batman is next. In or out.

If things were absolute total shit do you think the LE's would be gone? Nope

Believe what you want.

#636 5 years ago
Quoted from QuickSilverShelby:

It's just that $10k machines are insaine!

I was guilty of Jpop insanity. Horrendous and stupid.

I'm in for the Batman LE, not the "super".

Love my TWDLE, GBLE and this is finally getting the LCD.

Time will tell.

#641 5 years ago

Batman is just another pin.

240 people will buy the LE.

Others will buy the premium.

Aerosmith is next, then Star Wars.

Are $10k pins sustainable over the long term? Probably not.

#667 5 years ago
Quoted from QuickSilverShelby:

Obviously you must be an optimist and ultimately it's your money so do as you please but how on God's green earth can you make this claim?

theme is really cool
LCD finally
Lyman Sheets and Gomez is no stiff
30th anniversary, Gary wants a great pin to mark the anniversary
Reports are that its "awesome" in so many ways

Haven't seen layout, might end up being terrible? can't say yet
Pricing? don't know yet, still a lot of $$$
PF issues getting worked out?

So I think it will be a great pin too but you never know until you play it. But I'm optimistic!

#747 5 years ago

You guys can think what you want but it's "all new" except for the crane concept

Nothing "vault" about it

#826 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Yeah, it's going to be basically the same game, or they wouldn't have bothered keeping the crane
It's funny the crane is a pretty pedestrian feature on an undistinguished game. I haven't heard so many comments about how awesome it is until this thread.

You guys want to make a few wagers? It's NOT basically the same game, it's "all new". How much?

Unless it just makes you feel better, no need to hate on it before you've seen it

#832 5 years ago

Have you heard, there is a special "30th anniversary edition" pin coming out! Special, different, unique and set to mark a big occasion.

They aren't changing their core business model. Shouldn't be that hard to understand.

Congrats to Stern for 30 years of success, great accomplishment

#837 5 years ago
Quoted from DaveH:

There is plenty of reason to hate on it before seeing pictures. The biggest reason is that it is for sale right now, without pictures, or even a price.
It's really that there is no reason to be selling them without pictures or price. The bitching without info has as much right as the selling without info... In fact, bitching in that situation has more right. Bitch on Levi.

I wouldn't expect anything less, from a group of natural bitchers and whiners, myself included.

It's hilarious to me to whine about "where are the pics", "where is the price", get it OR don't.

They sold all of the LE's, one is coming to me.

Let's recap:

Option A - Buy now and reserve your LE

Option B - Wait until you see the pics, play it and then decide

Let's all now whine about people picking Option A!

#894 5 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Conversely, no reason to proclaim it the as second coming before you've seen it.
Best to maintain a neutral stance and say nothing. Boring, I know ...

I'm not saying its the second coming, just should be awesomely cool!

You can be the neutral boring party RD, the mediator.

I am in serious need of some ice cold beer tonight and a long weekend. Been a busy mofo last few weeks.

Throw in a little "real football" RD and we have the makings of a great weekend.

#918 5 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Don't be "that guy" ...

Those rugby dudes are a bunch of sissies!

I'd love to see an NFL team steamroll those turds without pads. There would be a bunch of Ruggers on the ground!

The only guy I saw tough enough was the dude that kept playing with a torn scrotum

#960 5 years ago

Check out the slot machine video assets for Batman. They have a ton of material to work with.

As for why would anybody jump in before you see it?

1) Read the flyer, what's not to like?
2) My last 3 Stern pins are AC/DC prem, TWDLE and GBLE

I'm pretty happy!!!

#984 5 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

And the other side of that coin was Badbilly who bought AVLE, XMENLE and then said I'm done NIB!!
Love my HOU AC/DC premium & HOU TWDLE though with Met Premium on the way. I've opted to wait based on past stumbles.
But love this theme!

Thank goodness I didn't like those themes, I've been pretty lucky so far.

I've got all the dust covers off, pins lit up tonight, making the rounds, watching football and throwing back some cold ones. It's heaven!

I'll tell you what, after playing my GBLE for quite awhile and stepping away from TWDLE, holy crap, I'll take the flipper gap ALL f ing day over the outlanes on TWD.

Good lord its a brutal pin, its kind of like the amusement park basketball hoops game where the ball barely fits through the hoop, the inlane on TWD is freaking joke!

Gotta love pinball! And GBLE is a great f ing pin too.

Can't wait for Batman ladies.

#986 5 years ago
Quoted from TKDalumni:

Any pics of the slot machine?

you tube

#989 5 years ago

Look at the show clips from the slot machine on you tube.

That is a sample of what's going in the pin. Giddy up!

#992 5 years ago
Quoted from PW79:

So it was cash flow?

That's what they said, "cash flow". Investors followed.

ala Stern, sinking ship, Investors followed.

#996 5 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

All we have to go on is history. Based on JJP's history, guessing that JJP's pin #3 won't be shipped for 18 months from now is actually a bit optimistic, if anything.

If that's true Rob, then that's F ed and they better sell a whole bunch more of TH's.

I'm guessing shipping by 1st quarter of 2017.

#1002 5 years ago
Quoted from PW79:

Thats so weird because I seem to recall anyone making that assumption during the years of delays was accused of "libel" commentary & threatened with legal action.

JJP got investors.

Stern got investors.

Politicians lie.

Lawyers win.

#1037 5 years ago

There is nothing "photoshop" about if you listen to the people actually making the game unless you don't believe Gomez.

They have 4 artists working on it.

I'm sure Stern wants to crank out a re hashed piece of garbage for the 30th anniversary

This pin will be more standard body JJP style.

Some of you guys can believe what you want and just make shit up all day! You are gonna be wrong

#1044 5 years ago

They will make it great!

Just saying. Happy to be in.

#1097 5 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

Feels like an FU to buyers every step of the way. Net-net our prices went up by this move and we still have to "call around" in order to see who's closest to the floor pricing (feels like car buying). Really starting to turn me off how these pricing changes (and not sharing pricing info on Batman 66) don't reflect costs or improved products, but rather a money grab at the detriment of buyers. The crazy thing is, I don't see an end in sight because the community keeps buying at the higher prices.
Thank you mam may I have another? Anyone want to build a TrueCar service for the pinball hobby?

After the METLE debacle, they keep trying to find the "sweet spot" to take out all of the flipper profit.

I think we will see a move in the other direction pricing wise, the demand for $8k+ plus pins isn't endless.

The secondary market is starting to hit the brakes a bit on the higher priced pins.

People have been able to buy a pin and sell it for what they paid for it or more for the last 5 years, with the exception a few titles.

When the price tag jumps over $8k and people start having to take a $1k hit or more to sell a pin I'm thinking the demand is gonna slow down.

Either way, I agree Billy, just tell us what the F ing price is and quit playing games!!

#1191 5 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

You know you love it, Rare. Come on now ...

Sorry RD, one of the worst Stern pins. I love Borg but not this. Oversized Wolvie destroys the left side of the play field. No amount of code can save it.

#1326 5 years ago

On final descent to Vegas!

High stakes fantasy football this weekend.

I'm ready to unload.

Playing some Batman slots to celebrate and get psyched up.

T minus 45 minutes before the drinks start flowing......

#1426 5 years ago

Batman slot machine video clips are very cool and will be awesome on the pin. Even though it took my $$$ in Vegas

Gomez can say that "pinball is under the glass" but they know they can't stand still in terms of innovation. There is a reason slot machines are more and more starting to look like the Batman slot machine and the new GOT.

They ATTRACT people to put $$$$ in them. Get it?

#1553 5 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Funny.. you all flock and foam to buy LE versions of Sterns... and now that Stern is offering a LE you can't just buy your way into you all cry foul. So funny.
This is not people upset at Stern's actual offerings... its people upset they can't get their hands on the most exclusive thing.

And/or there are plenty of haters that are just pissed that they can't afford or simply won't pay that much for a pinball machine

Bottom line is plenty of people are willing to pay up for the LE and "super collectible" or whatever the heck it is.

I'm one of them for the right pin like Batman66

Stern has got it right. Satisfying all segments of the market

The whiners and complainers will always be out in force no matter what they do

#1588 5 years ago

That application is hilarious KPG

The application is a brilliant move by Stern, they will have a data base and "indication of interests" for future super duper LE's buyers!

Look at freaking Jpop's MG for crying out loud. This Batman Super duper LE is a f ing steal by comparison!!!

How people want blow/spend their money is up to them.

If i have a client that is a degenerate gambler and have to wire Seven figures to casinos for gambling losses, from his account, then I have to wonder, is that a totally f ed up thing? Seems crazy to me, not to him because it makes him happy and he can afford it.

I used to watch guys over 35 pay $15k to play in Michael Jordan's fantasy camp every year. To me, what a waste of $$, to those guys, it was the time of their lives.

At least with a pinball machine, no matter what it costs, you have something tangible forever, no?

#1674 5 years ago
Quoted from Chambahz:

I dont understand why so many people are acting insulted, or offended at Stern's SLE model.
It's not for me, cause it's just too much money. That doesn't bother me though. Nor do I mind if someone else with more disposable income wants one.
What I care about is the following:
1) Quality product that's backed by the company. Stern has a program to replace the play fields that went out that are defective.
2) The Premium version has all the play features that the LE and SLE versions do. -the moment I see that an LE version has an extra playable feature on the play field, or better code, I'm out for the Premium model.

Bin....f ing.....go....

It's ok to bitch and whine, that's what we do on here. There would be no Pinside without it!

Some of it is funny as shit (Kpg).

Some people though just have a big ole boner of hate going on. Just can't get over the fact that they can't have it.

#1676 5 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Celebrating deployable behavior as entertainment leads to this...

Hehe, i'm a big proponent of "deplorable" behavior, whatever that means.

#1696 5 years ago

woke up

headache hitting the wall

#1806 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I think that concern is understandable to most understanding folks.

Who said they are going to sell a "shitload" of $8,500 premiums?

This is a "JJP style pin".

Besides, these are the MSRP prices.

#1857 5 years ago
Quoted from Kiwipinhead:

Still in for a LE Ice?

I'm still in for LE.

Prices are going back down after this "anniversary edition".

This pin is blinged out "way beyond" anything else they have done before.

I'm not saying they won't have SLE's in the future, I think they will and would be stupid not to have them if people keep buying them.

100 SLE units, 400 LE's, premiums and pros.

I predict $10k, $8500, $7200 and $5800 respectively.

#1861 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

IF this is a success, It's pretty clear to me this is new pricing. I guess the Pro will be around $6000-6500 street price on the next model as well. And clearly you haven't seen the last "Super LE" either if these actually do sell out with customers humiliating themselves by begging for them on video.

The LE and SLE are already a slam dunk success it appears, so no doubt we will see more of the same.

I think premium goes back to $7200 range in future and pro stays under $6k.

$15k pins for me? Likely not for me. $10k is crazy enough.

#1863 5 years ago

You guys are some funny M fers

When you see BM66 you'll understand why prices will go back down.

But hey, a GBLE at $8k isn't like some screaming discounted price.

What is clear is they are intent on not allowing "flipper profit" and will price accordingly

#1871 5 years ago
Quoted from fnosm:

There is no way for the producer to eliminate "flipper profit".

They have already done it. After the METLE debacle that's exactly what happened.

They have greatly reduced "flipper profit".

The after market for $8k plus pins is only going to get more difficult for sellers as JJP, Heighway and Stern keep cranking out the new latest and greatest Nib pins.

That will keep a lid on prices, people won't keep buying Nib to sell their pins later at a $2k loss. Forget "flipper profit". More like "flopper loss".

But yeah, I know the laws of supply and demand and price elasticity don't apply to pinball

#1891 5 years ago

Dadgum Stern is destroying their business.

I see all the people that say they aren't nib buyers ever again, where are all the people like me that is buying the LE?

GB selling like "hot cakes"

They can't make pins fast enough to satisfy backlog demand.

Who the heck are all these people snapping these pins up?

Yep, Stern is in really bad shape, I feel sorry for them

#1912 5 years ago
Quoted from kpg:

I agree, here's a recent pic of Iceman!

That definitely was me in Vegas last weekend.

I managed to lose a Batman and have nothing to show for it!

It's all coming to a head soon enough. People will get tired of buy $9k pins and selling them for $7k or less. That's when the party ends.

#1947 5 years ago
Quoted from Magic_Mike:

Who cares?
You're not buying it for an investment!

I don't care.

That's why i turned back my RZ spot instead of trying to sell it for a profit.

It's been a long run of people being able to buy pins and sell them for "mas or menos" the original price and not have to worry about getting hit hard on the future sale.

Many other people are going to care as they buy these $8k plus pins and try and sell them a year later, for 10-20% less. Nib buyers might get a little more picky at that point.

Either way its a great hobby for any type of buyer and pinball enthusiast. Fun factor is off the charts. How much is that worth? A 10-20% discount off of a Nib theme you love? For me it is.

So i guess Stern will always have dummies like me to push their pinball drug to.

#2063 5 years ago

Got call today and was going to stay in on LE no matter what the price was.

Yes $9500 was at the high end.

Funny how people cream all over themselves when they buy a GBLE or RZ or any other pin and flip it for big bucks before they even get it.

Some of the same guys are whining about the prices.

Can you really blame Stern and distributors for taking your flipper profit if people like me are willing to pay $9500?

Pissed? Why?

Buy or not. Spooky has one for $6250

#2072 5 years ago
Quoted from Ed209:

Buyers have more options when they're not being gouged straight from the source. I didn't pay close to $9500 for my GBLE.

Exactly, you paid $8k like me and could have sold it for $9500

I mean hey, I'd rather pay $8k not $9500. Not gonna get pissed about it

#2074 5 years ago

What about the line out the door for people offering distributors over $9k for an already taken GBLE if they would just pretty please sell it to them and cut the early guy out?

Begging to pay $9k

#2082 5 years ago

I was once charged $9,995 for a pin I never got.

$9,500 is a f Ing bargain.

#2110 5 years ago
Quoted from chet218:

-QC issues leaving with leaving customer in the dark
-keep producing games with QC issues leaving customers in the dark

Totally agree, the communication is terrible from Stern, like every other pinball company

Yet they can't keep up with production and apparently August was their biggest month ever per Gary. People aren't voting with their wallets yet despite all the whining and complaining.

-implement a program to Replace playfield (at their discretion)

Stern is taking care of the issue like they always have. Maybe not in the most desirable way, but we all know people here that would do anything to take advantage of the situation. I'll partly blame the few jackwads that can be crappy and pain in the ass customers.

-announce 30th anniversary party charging customers to attend

The room is limited in numbers that can attend. I think we can come up with better things to whine about.

-release new game with a substantial price increase

So what, the bom is going way up too and prices will revert back to where they were in future releases!

-make customers apply to purchase super Le

Smart PR move, an identified group to sell the niche SLE's to in the future

The bottom line is there is a lot i don't like about the communication either and some of the QC issues, but all the bitching and whining isn't going to do a bit of good except make you feel better I guess.

This BM66 is a "special edition", I don't know why its so hard for people to figure that out and understand what is going on. If you don't like it, fast forward to the next title, that you will line up to buy despite all of the current teeth gnashing.

Buyers have brought much of this on ourselves, and I'm talking about the ones that buy a GBLE for $8k and try and flip it right away for $9k-$10K, or RZ.

WTF do you think is going to happen? If people are willing to pay those prices, why wouldn't Stern or JJP charge them? That merry go round is going to end soon enough but they are tapping it out right now like any business.

They screwed up the SMVE pricing experiment, maybe they will find this was a bad move too, who knows, but at the end of the day people will keep buying great pinball machines, PRO, PREMIUM and LE'S, that they like if the price is reasonable to the value they are getting.

#2111 5 years ago

How many people here are on a "list" to buy a Star Wars LE? Sight unseen? Hmmm? Not me this time.

So much for voting with your wallets. Let the Star Wars craziness begin.

#2113 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

After seeing the rage that people had over the way Stern released Batman66, I doubt that Stern is crazy enough to do it again. They most likely will return to good ole fashioned show the product and let people decide if they want to buy. At least I hope so.

That IS what they are going to do and the rage will die down. And the Star Wars love fest, and the "take my money" chants will begin. It's almost comical.

I don't agree with everything, especially lack of communication and QC, but I'm just presenting the other side of the argument.

Its not like operators won't have 3-4 pro models to choose from just around the corner from the October Bat66 hype.

Ok, so i might be a bit crazy, dumbass, whatever, but I'm not making any F ing video for a pinball machine. Nor will you ever see me dressed up in a GB costume.

C'mon Ice, we want to see you squirm...

No, but we could have a rugby match in your house with R Diddy, and film crashing through the screen door in a drunken stupor.

That would catch Gary's eye and be a winner for sure.

I was thinking about doing a Todd Stuckey and pushing one of my Bally's off the roof.

Or rolling it outside and setting it on fire?

Quoted from pinballrockstar:

I refuse to pay 12.500 euro for a batman pinball.
That is about 13.800 dollar?
I paid 8700 euro for woz?

As crazy as it seems to pay $9500 US for a Batman pinball, $13,800 for an LE is yes "fuck those prices"

Isn't $8,000 for a GBLE crazy too? Nobody complains about that price because you can sell it for more.

People have gotten so used to being able to buy a Stern Nib pin and be able to sell it a year later for little to no depreciation, with the exception of a few titles.

They saw what just happened with GBLE, people were BEGGING to buy one for $9k-$10k and then watched as pre orders bought for $8k and immediately flipped the LE for $9500.

They just simply weren't going to let that happen with BM66LE.

The end result is going to be the 240 LE buyers will take a hit on selling if they ever go to sell. That is going to be the NEW reality anyhow on EVERY new pin.

More and more supply is just going to lead to more and more people moving out last years "gotta have it" to get this year's "shut up and take my money now" pin.

It's kind of fitting that the battle with the "dark side" will play out with STAR WARS.

Let's see how people feel at that point. Might be the beginning of the end? Or not.

#2212 5 years ago

Maybe Stern has shifted to the 80/20 rule

80% of profits come from 20% of their customers. No that can't be it

Maybe 80% of the complaints come from 20% of the people.

Maybe they just don't give a F about bitching about PF, QC or prices

The orders don't seem to be slowing down. Maybe that is about to change

We will see with Star Wars

At least you have great choices now. Heighway, JJP and Spooky

Nobody is holding a gun to anybody's head

#2219 5 years ago
Quoted from Pimp77:

I have a feeling that this game will have an extra toy or two that Stern uses to justify their prices (and the color LCDs). $50 more in toys, thousands more in price. People will be blinded...again. Watch and see when pictures and the matrix is released. People will be tripping over themselves to buy.

What's the point? Good marketing, stupid buyers?

I don't see pinball buyers as generally stupid. Maybe making stupid decisions from time to time, myself included.

Not that it matters to me but I've made $$ selling the pins I've sold.

And I just let RZ go back rather than sell it for a profit because I view this as just a hobby. An expensive one for sure, but a fun one!

Maybe what this is all about is people rushing to buy a pinball machine that everybody wants and flip it for big bucks.

After GB and RZ those days are over, get used to it

You can blame Stern all you want, but people are gonna buy what they want, until they don't want it anymore

As for BM66LE, I'm buying because I love the theme and I grew up with it. Plus is has the first LCD from Stern which I put a big value on.

And there are only 240 of them, like it or not, it's "collectible"

While I respect everybody's opinion and can see where they are at, I personally don't give a F what anybody else thinks about my purchase decision

#2260 5 years ago

How F ing dare Ferrari!!! Making 799 LE's celebrating 60 years of doing business in the US. WTF is going on. I'm outraged

#2263 5 years ago

It's shame the LCD didn't make it into TWD and GOT, two other Aristocrat slots.

Having recently played the Batman slot machine and getting to see the video clips that are going into the game, it's gonna be very cool.

Mix in voice work by Adam West and Burt Ward and Stern's 30th anniversary should be a special pin. They have set expectations sky high and I'm betting they deliver on this one.

The wheel on the slot make its way into the pin?

#2270 5 years ago

So Homepin is going to make great pinball for $4k-$5k and bury Stern and everybody else? rotflmao

Who does this sound like?

"Our goal and sole aim at Homepin is to get the machines finished and running - I don't like paperwork or accounting so that comes LAST as far as I am concerned! LOL."

#2296 5 years ago
Quoted from clg:

If he were to partner with someone doing design and software and he did the manufacturing things could get quite interesting.

JPop sounds like a good fit. Magic Girl, RAZA and AIW ready to be revived?

Neither one of them likes paperwork or accounting.

I don't see pins on route as a booming and growing business. Maybe in a few locations. I don't care how much they cost. Still gotta fix and maintain them.

Ops are raking in $$ with Key masters and other rigged games like that, not pinball, in general.

#2331 5 years ago
Quoted from pinmister:

As for being "priced out" that is not the case, plenty of people have plenty of money-it is the "principle" of it all. These pricing structures simply do not support the product being sold.

They are selling the 30 SLE's for $15k and people are lined up to buy it.

They have sold all 240 LE's for $10k.

This is a boutique, special anniversary offering. You don't like it, plenty of others do. The "unjustified" price increase? You haven't seen it yet, you don't know. I would rather NOT pay $9500 for the LE but I get how they "justified" the price.

It's real simple, once again, Stern announces GBLE at approx. $8k street price. People fall all over themselves to buy one so they can flip it for $9500 to $10k.

They made 500 of those, 240 of Batman, with MUCH MORE bill of material than GBLE. Now tell me again how its not "justified" for the 240 LE's that would have sold for that much on the secondary market?

For the "cornerstone" games, they are going back to NORMAL pricing. It doesn't seem to matter to Stern that they haven't publicly put this info out there. Maybe they should, maybe they shouldn't.

I have "justified" the price increase for me. Sure, I would rather pay less, but I want this LE pin, period. And I dropped my RZ because of it.

Going forward, I'm not on the list for buying $10k pinball machines, from anybody. It would take the right combo of theme, developer and software.

#2334 5 years ago

Let me highlight it one more time succinctly.

GBLE $8k. People falling over themselves to buy so they could flip it for $9500-$10k 500 units

BM66LE $9500. With an LCD that is huge for me, another great theme and 240 units.

Hard to understand? You have to really want the pin because the "flipper profit" is gone.

Yet you see a couple of dopes listing the LE for $11k!! What a f ing joke.

#2337 5 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

I disagree, so far only 4 videos of guys wanting SLE's and one rage video. After the first week I would have expected more but that's it. So presumably 26 more available. The plus side of this marketing train wreck is that we get to see the guys begging and grovelling for an SLE and have a good laugh. " Oh please, pick me. I want the honor of buying your pin". Sad....Very Sad.

It is funny, but hey, different motivations for different people. I wouldn't want the SLE but 30 people will. Those videos are just the you tube video. There is no telling how many Stern has received privately.

And plenty of people that aren't pinheads think its "very sad" and/or "stupid" that a grown man would spend any amount of money on a pinball machine.

#2355 5 years ago

Some of you guys are living in total denial and will have to eat a mile of sh*t when it gets released. Just sayin

As for the video. This is 2016, I can make a video with my iPhone and email it privately to Stern sitting right here at lunch.

I know it's fun and funny to watch but the last laugh will be had by the BMLE and SLE owners because it will be great!

#2376 5 years ago

I'm so glad the preachers on here have determined what price is acceptable for EVERYBODY!!

What a F Ing joke!!!

Hate away

#2389 5 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

Did you even read my post?

Not talking about you. Just in general and Rare of course

Is the price "ludicrous"? Sure it is. To what degree of stupidity. I'm not sure

When I bought my first pin, a Lotr LE I thought I lost my mind then when I paid $5200!

Can I justify it today? Yes, because I want it and don't care if I lost a couple of grand later selling it.

If I had to sell it for $7500 with all the bells and whistles, how far has Tron Le and everything else dropped? It's all relative

At least this time I know I'm getting a pin in a couple of months. Yes, Jpop was beyond stupid, but I've been fortunate otherwise

It's a hobby and I'm having a blast!!!

#2413 5 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

Me too.
I thought you sold your LOTRLE? If not, I'm glad you kept it. GB Premium is my first NIB, well should be, unless the deal goes through for a Bally I'm working on
Really hoping it does

I did sell my LotrLE a few months ago, trying to make room for the new stuff! I'd think about getting it back when they do the VE with LCD and great sound

I'd stick with that GB premium, its really good

#2423 5 years ago

I think Stern is in a tough spot trying to find the pricing sweet spot for all concerned.

Does Stern keep making high demand LE's and watch people flip them for big bucks before they even take possession? Like GBLE.

It kind of sucks that everybody that actually wants the pin can't have it at a more reasonable price because of the profiteers. I can't say its wrong for them to take advantage of it while it exists, but Stern obviously sees that and wants to close the flipper down.

How many RZ's have you seen up for sale, many of which have even been delivered yet? I decided to give up my RZ to the next guy that wanted it, because i wanted BM66 instead.

What would you do if you were Stern and in their shoes?

Either way it goes, Stern will have to adjust to the market and whatever the demand will be at higher prices. Good, bad, or ugly.

I love all the sexy kitty cats.

SLE BM campaign. Record karaoke version of "I like Dreamin", in a Batman costume, surrounded by my current Stern pins?

And finish it off with the Bee Gees "Night Fever" remade to "Batman Fever", along with appropriate attire and dance moves.

Winner for sure, but happy with my LE, good tip for you applicants though.

#2473 5 years ago

See. The artwork alone is worth $14k out of the $15k

Nice one Kpg!

I love Cat momma

#2475 5 years ago

If you listened to the podcast the artwork is being done by 4 different artists. All hand drawn and nothing photoshopped about it.

Artwork will be great. Box checked and mic dropped

#2498 5 years ago
Quoted from CaptainNeo:

indeed. What's folded and square and weighs nothing? Your wallet after buying this game......

Spooky just went past your $6k limit

30 pins are $15k. Might have its own Picasso

Mine is $9500 and I'll take the renderings of the characters. Hard to beat that

Plus you haven't seen the rest of the artwork.

I got a tingle up my leg

#2515 5 years ago

Some of you guys can't help yourselves.

I'd be jealous too

#2524 5 years ago

Stern brings on the best hand drawn artist of classic Batman in the world and still get whining. Nuff said

Dont eat too much before expo. That mile of turd carries a lot of calories

Seriously, if you can't like that art you are hopeless

#2535 5 years ago

It's how art is done today, including how Yeti drew GB, MG, RAZA and everything else he does.

You don't "reinvent" Batman characters, take the best rendering out there and turn it into shit.

Chris Franchi is good enough for me as far as Batman goes.

#2542 5 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

Dude I like you but that's just flat out incorrect. He may have used photoshop during the process but the assets themselves were original.
If you're happy that is all that matters.

Sure, the assets are original yeti. So are these assets from the "original" artist hired by Stern to integrate into the game. You don't get to just paste these in like clip art.

It's based on Batman 66 series, see pics above, they are awesome! I'm not sure what more you can ask for.

#2545 5 years ago
Quoted from pinmister:

I think that tingle down your leg is a stream of piss from pissing yourself for the potential money you are about to throw down on something you know nothing about. You will take what Stern gives you on this one-which is photo shopped cut and paste at its best. What is the difference from cutting and pasting other graphic images v.s. hand drawn custom art images?-nothing. "Oh its custom art"-bullshit!

No hoper

#2548 5 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

You got real dollars at stake. As long as you're happy it doesn't matter what I think. I hope it's all you want and more. Someday a dream theme pin will come up for me and I know it will be criticized. All good.

I appreciate that, not everybody is going to love everything.

My last two pins are a TWDLE and GBLE which are fantastic for me. The BM66LE is going way above and beyond those two, I'll take it and be very happy with it from what i know so far.

#2551 5 years ago
Quoted from Jeekayjay:

Original artwork made specifically for this pinball machine.

There is some "original artwork" in the pin, this is one of four artists, and while we are at it, I'll take the best of the best from the once again, best hand drawn artist of classic Batman in the world.

Thank you very much.

Another "no hoper"

#2554 5 years ago

While they are at it, let's have Adam West and Burt Ward shoot some new "original" scenes to put in the pin at expo

Or maybe they should change up and redo the clips from the TV series that are going to be on the LCD screen because they aren't "original" or they look cheesy?

#2557 5 years ago

Let's get the old gang together and cut a few new scenes at Expo. Julie is still hot. That would be "original".

Seriously? Maybe you didn't read the thread?

Had to be joking right?

#2590 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Both would have been better served with original art, as would this game, but hey, what do you want for $15,000?

This is "original" art from the "original artist" who Stern hired and brought on for this project, not a cost cutting move.

Is JJP revealing #3 at Expo Crazy?

#2594 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I don't know, I guess we'll find out at Expo. All of this advance gloating is unseemly.
If this is "original" art from an "original artist" why is it "the same" as a "product" that has already been "released?"
Or is that inaccurate? I haven't been following this as closely as you.

It's been released on a toy box with Moebius and modified for the pin and integrated with the other artists on the project.

Anybody ever seen those toys in the marketplace?

Why would you totally reinvent the character art that already looks awesome? Wait until you see the overall package, the characters are just part of it and look great.

#2605 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

What I've seen looks great.
If I spent $15,000 on a pinball machine I'd probably not want to see the exact art on some cheap toy box at the same time.
I've never bought an NIB game and I'm not gonna start now so it's kind of moot anyway.

Exactly, everybody is going to the $15k tag and that's for 30 people, not me. Who knows what that looks like or other "stuff" it has to justify price beyond just "collectability".

Yes $9500 is crazy on some level too!

For the Overseas guys like Cooked, $14k plus would be a tough pill to swallow

Since people like to just make shit up on here, I'm going to say that the artwork was designed specifically for the pinball machine and he happens to be using a variation of it with Moebius on the "High end" toy box.

Yep, its been in the works for quite some time, just for the pin.

#2641 5 years ago
Quoted from Jvspin:

That is wholly inaccurate.
At lease a couple of eyebrow hairs were moved to make it completely new original hand drawn art.

No he just changed the original pinball art up a bit for the toy

#2651 5 years ago
Quoted from rai:

I really don't mind paying a large sum of money but not if the code sucks for a year and may or may not get finished but probably still have some missing features.

You can buy when its complete Rai, or just buy Lyman or Keith pins. No stress that way

#2669 5 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

Good is a relative term, but typically includes the quality of build. In that sense Stern hasn't built a "good" product all year. No argument there. They have major issues.

Whatch you talkin bout Minus! They have built a GREAT product in GB. The PF issues are way overblown and being handled as they say "on a case by case basis"

Getting ready to pull the tarp off, grab a beer and flip me some awesome GBLE.

As for the artwork, you haven't seen the whole package and "not what I'd expect from a $10k pin"? You'd like the artist to hand paint every pin, separately, and that ain't gonna happen.

You could probably hire Yeti to create your own one off if that floats your boat. Leroy Neiman is dead so he isn't available.

#2671 5 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

How about you actually see the game and the sum of its parts before you think you are gonna drop the mic.

Minus ain't dropping any mic, he might drop a load in his pants after he sees the entire package though

#2679 5 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

But Gary keeps giving us the finger...I hate him for making GB. It kills me giving him money. It's like every time I buy a Kanye song. I just want to hurt myself after. I disgust me sometimes. I need to go take a shower with a Brillo pad now excuse me.

Well well, that really disappoints me, you actually buy Kanye's crap! The wardrobe, shoes, everything.

It's good to be critical, no problem, but my last two Stern pins TWDLE and GBLE are kick ass. I hate that others have some PF issues but my GB is excellent quality.

I have a Woz sitting on the other side of the room that looks great, oozes quality and I still like it but its running a bit behind the other two in fun factor.

Quit screwing around and get that GB pin you want!

And F Kanye that POS.

#2694 5 years ago
Quoted from robotron:

on a game you havent even seen the finished package? what if bm66 looks great and is mediocre gameplay?

Sorry Robo, let's just all stop the nonsense. This pin is going to look awesome and will play great. Why?

30th anniversary and Stern doesn't want a POS. And what we know already.

Lyman is doing the coding and it has an LCD. WTF, you guys know 2+2=4. Not that hard to put it together.

This one is first for me. Period. I have been in on AlienLE pre order for a long time, depends on Expo reveal. JJP #3 and Lawlor, no F ing brainer! Any time either Keith or Lyman does the code on any pin it has the chance to be great, the rest is IFFY.

I'll say this though, my GBLE is F ing AWESOME right now!!!

And Vid throws that Clueless pic up and she is the fattest, ugliest batgirl, right? No such thing.

This might end up being a great thread with the bat girls/ladies.

Quoted from bigd1979:

We will see but stern has let us down so many times im not real sure anymore, especially for this amount of money and nothing to go on except what they have mentioned . One thing is for sure ....the people that spent this much money sight unseen sure will pump it up regardless if its really good or not.....hope it ends up being great then people can get a premium down the road with same gameplay.

I won't pump anything up if it doesn't live up to expectations

I've done very well with my Stern pins, love them, so maybe I'm a bit overconfident but there is good reason to be

#2770 5 years ago

That's from Gex, and JJ just following orders. He told me that too.

The 30
SLE was botched but hey, it's 30 yrs and I guess Stern is afforded a screw up like that every decade or so

As for the LEs they have contorted this thing every way so as to not have "flippers" take over this "special" project.

The mistake that was made was locking in the deposit AND pricing it at $9500.

Makes no sense. The flipper market is gone with that price and you run the risk of pissing off people like Kim and others.

I don't think this will end up being the final policy upon reveal at Expo

Yep, that's good for the long term viability JV? That's genius.

#2852 5 years ago

You know what they say "the road goes on forever and the party never ends"

I'm not sure why it's so hard for people to believe the pinball industry can't take a hit.

If somebody is paying $6500 for a CV "beater" then that person has zero patience or just clueless. Makes my GBLE look like a bargain

#2853 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

At the end if the day stern is still the only company with any kind of solid credibility. We all know BM66 buyers will have their games soon.
The rest of this stuff is just a sideshow as far as I'm concerned. You'd be nuts to have any faith or make a financial committment to this Houdini nonsense and god knows when or if any of these other games will actually ship.
Plenty of "air" will be back for stern once they reveal.

Couldn't agree more this time

#2859 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

The "industry" isn't 20 year old games, it's the 6 pinball companies attempting to sell $7,000+ brand new machines to consumers and operators.
The collector hobby is completely different, and it isn't going to collapse. In fact, it'll be the last thing to go, and if that happens we are all gonna have a mess of more important problems in our lives.
I don't care what happens with all of these companies and the "industry" you keep confusing for the hobby. The bottom isn't gonna drop out of the vintage classic market.

The "collector hobby" is the only thing keeping the "industry" going.

Everybody that has multiple pins is a "collector". Whether they are "new" or "vintage".

Whether you have 12 pins or 120 pins, you "collect" them because you can't play them all the time.

The "vintage" market can certainly experience a downturn. Especially if more people desire the new "industry" pins that you care nothing about.

What is "vintage" today? EM's?

#2863 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Do you get "paid" by the "quotation mark?"
Even when "Stern" was limping along and "in" serious doubt of "suriving," prices on classic 90s games "were" still healthy.
That won't change. It has never changed. The "industry" can collapse in part and that won't change.

They were still "healthy" then because there was NOTHING else to buy. Get it?

Many more options today. The vintage games were more desirable than the crap Stern was pumping out

#2868 5 years ago

Ok got it. So the 90's classics count. Ive got a few myself so I'm relieved

Who is saying it will collapse?

Over time, if Stern, JJP and others keep making great pins the classics will lose a little bloom off the rose. But they are priced that way now

I def don't lose sleep over what my classics will do or not do in the future. I like them

I agree that some of these new guys won't be around in 2017-18. And we might hear about one at expo.

All of these $8k plus pins are money losers imo

BM66LE is my last purchase for awhile. After this I'm gonna let the dust settle on the hype train and hysteria that is about to explode at expo

#2876 5 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

The generally accepted definition of "vintage" is 25 years. In case you haven't noticed, the 90s games are either there or getting there quickly.

Ok now you are just making shit up. since we are arguing about it, "vintage" is commonly used as the year a wine was made and has been hijacked for other purposes.

Antique is over 100 yrs. Vintage is 50-100 for eBay description and collector standards.

I don't care what you call it. Old stuff versus new stuff, I'm agreeing with you for the most part.

If it's great now it's always gonna be great. Who cares

For those of you in the US as context so you know where we are coming from. Take the full Stern retail price price, add 15% for tax and then another 15% cause the only Stern distributor in the country says so. That is what we are supposed to pay. Exchange rates have improved for us but our local pricing hasn't changed.

That's horrible. Why does Stern allow tacking on another 15%? I don't see how they sell any pins over there.

#2909 5 years ago
Quoted from Maken:

These price increases will absolutely destroy NIB pinball sales outside of America.

Hard to believe they allow a monopoly on sales like that. Should be able to buy a pin direct from Stern as an option in that case.

Quoted from ATLpb:

A stark contrast to the confidence I had based on the combination of Gomez statements and the flyer verbiage.

So maybe everyone at Stern is lying about the game, Gomez really hasn't seen it and doesn't know what he's talking about!

I'll stick with the facts and the statements from them until the reveal. It's not like they can hide from a comparison to prior Batman right?

And lord knows, it will be picked apart and disected down to a quarter inch scale.

For the record, I in love with Julie Neymar

The LCD clips she is in might be worth full price of the pin

As for Batman LE, the crybabies that keep whining about "omg, I've got to secure my $2k deposit before i see it" is just stupid.

Make your own decisions. If you don't like it, move on. If it doesn't work then they will change it up.

Quit F ing whining about it!!!

Quoted from someoneelse:

By now everyone's aware by that you happily support and promote their price increases and marketing stunts, but the majority of pinheads are not as thrilled by this development as you are.
In Germany there's a popular bumper sticker that Porsche drivers like to use, it reads: "Your poverty sickens me."
I think that sticker is hilarious, still your posts heavily remind me of that statement.

I don't happily support it and have been critical of how Stern has handled the whole BM66 launch issue along with the play field problems and lack of communication.

The price increases are for this unique one off 30 th anniversary pin. Maybe that is still lost on some of you, i don't know. Regardless, all of the bitching and whining isn't gonna change a thing. Buy it or don't. I'll be exercising the latter in the future.

My post was directed primarily at one person who will get it when he reads it! Take it any way you want.

All of these NIB's now come with a built in loss when you go to sell them. How long will people be willing to put up with that?

Then again, you have people that buy a GBLE for $8k and sell it for $9500 before its delivered. Maybe Stern taking that away is what all the whining and bitchfest is all about?

Quoted from spfxted:

If they wanted to celebrate the 30th, they should have made a lower priced pin that all the fans could afford as a Thank You.

That's a great point Ted

Stern isn't dropping the ball on this one. I agree

I get the idea that some people are calling this a "money grab" but I've never heard an answer as to what you think they should do?

If they sold BM66LE at $8k and then watched people flip it for $9500-$10k what would you do?

I don't like having to pay extra on this one but that is why we have to.

And it's the whiner gnashing his teeth over whether or not he should lock in his $2k down payment that is ridiculous. That guy is just trying to figure out whether he can flip it for $11k

I don't buy pins to flip and I know I have an instant loser on this one. I can live with it

How is 240 LEs a false report?

With the premium it's hard to imagine paying those prices as well but maybe people will think it's worth it at the reveal?

#3093 5 years ago

The problem is DC, people want and like the idea of an "LE" and Stern is filling that niche

You could call everything a money grab. They are all trying to make a profit

If all they did is a special edition and they priced it at xyz you would still have people complaining about a money grab

What's happening now is people can't buy a NIB pin and expect to sell it for what they paid. In fact, you are guaranteed a loss.

Let's see how that all plays out

Quoted from DCFAN:

On thing for sure, when it is revealed I am basing the worth of BM66 on a comparison with WOZRR/ECLE since the prices are so similar. The bill of materials better be impressive or else it is a bilking of the customers. One other thing, if the playfields of these inflated priced games start chipping and ghosting in the first month after deliveries start it will be a disaster for Stern in my opinion.

If that's true I'm one of the people getting bilked.

And from what I know and have seen that's not the case. This pin will be JJP like as far as BOM and bling

I agree that the comparison is JJP

#3113 5 years ago

They are able to flip the machine because it is deemed worth more to someone else!

In the cargument, the dealers are making the extra profit, not some customer doing a car flip because they just got a great f Ing deal

When you go to sell that Hobbit of yours you won't get out of it what you put into it. May not matter or you may never sell it. At $6500 I may not get that out of my WozLE some day, not planning on selling

Limited anything usually retains it value better over the long term. That's why some Operators are buying LEs now and when they have recouped cost they go on the secondary market for more

If I got f Ed like you did on that GBLE I'd be pissed at Stern too

I just went to lunch today at my favorite spot Willies and they raised the price on my Chili dogs with cheese by a buck

Cash grabbing m fers

Quoted from kpg:

Did you try their new Super Limited Edition chili dog?
It's the same thing as their regular chili dog, but it comes with a limited numbered stamp on the bun since they will only make 30 of them. It's about 50% more expensive though.

Nah, I wouldn't fall for that one

#3186 5 years ago

I agree Rob. $7500 for a premium is a no go for me. Not gonna do it

I would pay up for what I want like I did with this one. It's gonna be an LE or JJP for me every now and then

Will I end up grabbing my ankles, probably, but I will enjoy the shit out of it

Whoops, enjoy the pin!

#3190 5 years ago

You guys that BM is crap from what you know, take a guess,

How much will I lose on this pin if I pay $9500 today and try to sell it in a year?
