Apparently 2016 is also the 50th anniversary of the "Jingle Bells, Batman smells..." schoolyard song. Interesting article on the provenance of the song and how it spread so rapidly:

https://www.yahoo.com/movies/the-jokers-still-getting-away-celebrating-50-years-of-jingle-bells-batman-smells-233532830.html

It would be fantastic to have this jingle hidden in the Batman '66 pin somewhere. Midnight Madness? When you TILT? Schoolyard multiball? The possibilities are endless...

Interesting trivia about the original Batman series here. I was watching some old Stargate shows last night. The 7th episode of the 4th season of Stargate Atlantis opened with the two main characters (the head military guy and head scientist) in a far off galaxy walking the halls of their facility quizzing each other on the actors who played the various villains in the original Batman series. I thought that was pretty cool, and timely.

It might be because I'm in tune to the pin now, but seems BM is everywhere lately. Was in Toysrus last week getting my granddaughter toys, and BM everywhere, it seemed.....

Seems they focused a lot of energy in a small space to me.
Look forward to someone close getting one in the spring.

Glad your sarcasm of word insertion made you laugh....still downvoted , given the word "shit" inserted in any sentence with " my granddaughter" is not funny to me.....

Thanks Stern for the Batman 66 game video this week.
Hope y'all have a safe & happy Christmas. Hope to come up and visit again.

enjoy your pins. enjoy your theme. hell i dont play my arcade or pins alot- i really like the ambiance. many times i like having a game in the collection just to have it. maybe its not a great pin. maybe its average. hey i really like south park. just bash the ball and no crazy ruleset. batman looks great. i cant see them making a crappy bm pin with all this hype. alot is riding on this pin.
2017 gonna be great for pinball.

Great picture book, maybe, but seems to be light on actual information. From Amazon reviews:

"What I did not get was detailed information on each (or hardly any, for that matter) of the games. The author spent 80% of his effort tracking down the designers, programmers and sound guys. This is all very interesting, but each one is asked the same question: "Tell me how you got into the pinball biz." Each one has the same story: "I was in college and loved to play pinball. I sent Williams (Bally, Sega, etc.) a letter asking for a job. Whattaya know, they hired me. I worked on lots of cool games--it was the best time of my life!" Man, this gets old after the first twenty such stories! I loved hearing about these guys (at least at first), but this format is amateurish and shows a lack of imagination by the author. Ask a different question, perhaps?"

Unfortunately I missed the Dead Flip playing video, and don't see it online yet. So how did it go? Did the game play like a rehash? Or did it seem new?

It's a bat gadget LE.

#6676 7 years ago

looks like it shipped with inner sideart.

Batman Xmas trivia... Apparently Eartha Kitt passed away eight years ago today.

According to the latest feature matrix the inner art blades are now standard on the LE.

#6679 7 years ago

At expo and in the fliers the back box decals for the premium feature batgirl while the LE back box decals feature batman and robin. Looks like this LE has batgirl decals. Maybe a mistake or could it be an intentional change? I think batgirl version looks nicer.

On the recent factory video all the back boxes had white film on them so you couldn' tell what decal was on them.

and with metal rails on the side of playfield instead of wood looks like they engineered it so you can open and close the playfield without damaging the inner art.

Yep but article does state Super LE...even if it is *just* an LE still really cool to put on location.

Looks like the the "BATMAN LE" is stamped on the box, but the S was handwritten - perhaps by Adam West himself.
