Quoted from SuperPinball:Funny to everyone but the folks that ponied up their non refundable deposits. Maybe that's why there are no pics.
Because Stern is trying to F everybody?
I don't think so, deposits are "refundable" and the LE buyers don't give a shit.
The pics are coming and the whiner crybaby crowd will have to suck it or not.

Watch it, you're bound to offend someone in this PC crowd!

Shhhhhhhhhhh. Snapped it with my 1979 Polaroid.
Quoted from iceman44:deposits are "refundable
Sorry iceman but you are ill informed, my distro told me today that Stern's new policy is that the deposits are not refundable. Stern was burned in the past by people backing out of their orders.
Quoted from iceman44:LE buyers don't give a shit.
LE buyers of which I am a part of do care and shouldn't be asked to pony up over $10k on a machine solely on faith without even a pic.
Quoted from eggbert52:Sneak peak picture of the $10,000 LE
Hell yeah, glad i got my deposit down!
I offend the "pc crowd" every day, all day. The Pez army has taken a break i think.
A vocal minority is ok, knock yourselves out.
Quoted from SuperPinball:Sorry iceman but you are ill informed, my distro told me today that Stern's new policy is that the deposits are not refundable. Stern was burned in the past by people backing out of their orders.
Stern never had a deposit policy. In fact, they've warned potential customers from placing deposits with distributors.
This is new.

Ok, my deposit is "refundable" although I'm not refunding it because I'm happy with what's coming.
Stern "burned"? Maybe distributors but not Stern.
$10k for an LE? I don't think that's reality from what I'm told. Maybe there are scalping distros out there but not what I have agreed to.
Pricing will come out in a couple of weeks and if its in line with a modest increase from GBLE based on what I know then I'm in.
We all have a choice, "pony up" or not. Stern has 240 people that did this time, like it or not.
Quoted from Air_Pinball:Stern never had a deposit policy. In fact, they've warned potential customers from placing deposits with distributors.

true but their new policy is that we are required to make a deposit that is not refundable.
Quoted from SuperPinball:true but their new policy is that we are required to make a deposit that is not refundable.
For this game. It's a special situation.
I think their regular business model goes back into play after this game.
Quoted from iceman44:Ok, my deposit is "refundable" although I'm not refunding it because I'm happy with what's coming.
I got one better. I had my distro hold one for me while I get a chance to see pics at least without giving a deposit.
The smart thing to do, as usual, is play it first, decide if you like it or not, then buy a premium or pro later.
Never said I was that "smart".
This time, 30th anniversary, great theme, LCD, etc. I'm in..............................
Quoted from SuperPinball:I got one better. I had my distro hold one for me while I get a chance to see pics at least without giving a deposit.
Good for you! I don't need that. Isn't there only one Canadian "distributor"?
My mental images tell me that the "pics" will be awesome! No worries for me.
Quoted from iceman44:Isn't there only one Canadian "distributor"?
Technically there are more than one but they all must go through Starburst.
Quoted from SuperPinball:Technically there are more than one but they all must go through Starburst.
Well, I'm glad you have one held for you because this one is gonna be awesome, yes no pics yet, or coding or whatever. Gotta love Lyman? I do
Just gotta believe it makes sense! Little birdies give me much confidence.
Quoted from SuperPinball:Technically there are more than one but they all must go through Starburst.
Nope, there are Stern resellers, but Starburst is the distributor.
So speculation. What if the game turns out to be - mostly BDK - rethemed (like mostly dead from Princess Bride). New artwork, same crane, Joker can goes away and replaced with a Bat TV, and path of the dead becomes just a ramp with diverter.
The new LCD is JJP like, and all the sounds and movie scene sequences are taken from the slot machine Joe K. worked on (remember dude who helps JJP worked on casino slots too). Game cabinet design taken from Raw Thrills design. Special "video modes" from slot machine.
It could be a cool frankenstein built pinball machine with bells and whistles. But the pinball game layout could still be similar.

Quoted from vid1900:Mustang had a few dozen 50th anniversary "to the day" games.
Since they were only made a single day, they are much rarer than any LE.
Hey, I can finally see the Stern LE plaque at that distance! lol. Hmmm I can see the flyer now, "Rare Super LE plaque that is readable up to 5 feet away, a Super LE exclusive!".
Check the 4:00 minute mark. Sort of cool sequence if they incorporate in game.
Man you can lose a shit load of money in 3 minutes on a video slot.
Quoted from badbilly27:What if the game turns out to be - mostly BDK - rethemed
That was my suspicion at first, but now I've been told and have read it's a new game.
If that's the case, I just wish Stern would have just rolled out this announcement like normal. I don't know why the need to hold things back. Only spurs the rumors and speculation.
Quoted from badbilly27:So speculation. What if the game turns out to be - mostly BDK - rethemed (like mostly dead from Princess Bride). New artwork, same crane, Joker can goes away and replaced with a Bat TV, and path of the dead becomes just a ramp with diverter.
It's not. The only thing "vault" is the crane and Batman.
New layout, code, everything else.

Especially that $$$ eating slot, but its fun to play!
Look at the slot video and that's what is going into the LE.

That.....is f ing funny!
Everybody needs to watch this
I've had it with Stern. This is just jerking people around. They're asking for people to send in money before any sort of reveal. That's just wrong. Either they don't have the confidence in the title to ask for deposits after a real announcement (this is just a cheap tease), or they're really wanting some of that free loan money from buyers as a new way to squeeze every last available penny that this hobby has to offer.
Stern doesn't give a crap about the customer. This is just one more sign of that.
After the GBLE experience I've had, I can't understand why anybody would be putting money down on a total unknown, especially given Stern's current quality issues. This whole rush to preorder is nothing short of madness.
if my gb le would have not had playfield issues i would have been in. but i will sit this out and can always find an le later on. heck look at st le that have been for sale the past few months. they wont be unobtanium. i am waiting for my alien le. it will have a nice big screen on the backboard and lcd on playfield.
just got word from my dealer that stern wants pics of faulty playfields and will be replacing them on case by case basis. so basically if you have light ghosting it is gonna be a battle to get a playfield? i wont take another chance. right now i am out.
Quoted from robotron:just got word from my dealer that stern wants pics of faulty playfields and will be replacing them on case by case basis. so basically if you have light ghosting it is gonna be a battle to get a playfield? i wont take another chance. right now i am out.
I've heard this too, and it's total garbage. Any manufacturing flaw should be fixed. I'm afraid that since I just have ghosting, and no cracking (yet), that they won't do anything for me.
Quoted from jar155:I've heard this too, and it's total garbage. Any manufacturing flaw should be fixed. I'm afraid that since I just have ghosting, and no cracking (yet), that they won't do anything for me.
play it like you stole it. mines had slight ghosting and now cracking at inserts it gonna be a complete mess.
i admit i am anxious to see this reveal of batman 66 and pricing.
Quoted from dragdaily12:My moneys on the layout being close to the same. Not much can change with the crane swing across the pf.... just my thought thi
Nope
The GB issues will get resolved for those that have issues.
Onward and upward and Batman is next. In or out.
If things were absolute total shit do you think the LE's would be gone? Nope
Believe what you want.
Quoted from dragdaily12:My moneys on the layout being close to the same. Not much can change with the crane swing across the pf.... just my thought thi
Exactly - it takes up a huge footprint. Take a look at the Costco Batman...this has a one way ramp instead of the teeter totter, no Joker can, and no POTD. I think you can imagine where B'66 goes from this layout. Some new toy where the Joker can was, some new toy where the POTD was, and an LCD either in the corner (like Hobbit's book) or embedded in the playfield (Heighway style)
Quoted from iceman44:Can someone please tell me why everybody is so surprised by this Batman LE and super LE pricing?
JPop got 19 people to pony up $16k or so on MG for what? Nothing.
Then another $10k on RAZA, 125 people. Nothing. Not to mention AIW.
There is a HUGE "collector" market for pinball and its not going away.
Big $$$ to be made off of dummies like myself.
Ring the register, this one's going to be great, I'm loving my GBLE and TWDLE. Batman LE next.
Eventually, the whole "LE" concept will change, evolve, etc. But lots of f ing $$$ to be made in current environment
I gave you a "thumbs down" not because I don't disagree with your post. I agree with everything you've said, it's true, 100%. It's just that $10k machines are insaine! Does anyone paying these prices fully comprehend that it's 20,000 games at 50 cents a game if you were in an arcade? Does anyone on this whole damn site have 20,000 games on any stern game they've bought in the past 10 years?
And please don't tell me that you can recoupe a bunch of your money if you sell it especially after you claim "it's my grail pin" or "this is never leaving my collection". 20 thousand plays man......
QSS

Word from insiders is this game blows away ghost busters... Obviously take that for what it's worth.
Quoted from QuickSilverShelby:It's just that $10k machines are insaine!
Amen.
I was guilty of Jpop insanity. Horrendous and stupid.
I'm in for the Batman LE, not the "super".
Love my TWDLE, GBLE and this is finally getting the LCD.
Time will tell.
Quoted from lllvjr:Word from insiders is this game blows away ghost busters... Obviously take that for what it's worth.
Wow. That's a big claim after the success of the reveal of Ghostbusters. People were speculating it would cross the 10k units sold. I just can't imagine but we'll see. Do you think a reveal mid September?
Quoted from frolic:That was my suspicion at first, but now I've been told and have read it's a new game.
Quoted from iceman44:It's not. The only thing "vault" is the crane and Batman.
New layout, code, everything else.
I sincerely hope you're both right.
My speculation (no inside info at all) is if all new design - why the crane toy? Taking a step back, it's not an all new design if you're announcing the same crane toy will be in it. Why even mention the crane if it's new?
Regardless, I'm very intrigued to see the pics of this game. Hoping it's unbatlievable
Quoted from lllvjr:Word from insiders is this game blows away ghost busters... Obviously take that for what it's worth.
The breeze blowing through the gaps in the inserts?
Batman is just another pin.
240 people will buy the LE.
Others will buy the premium.
Aerosmith is next, then Star Wars.
Are $10k pins sustainable over the long term? Probably not.
Quoted from lllvjr:Word from insiders is this game blows away ghost busters... Obviously take that for what it's worth.
Oh, I'm not saying it won't. Lyman programming a colorful and funny theme that we know already has at least 1 awesome toy...and will have more toys and a playfield LCD! It's likely gonna be excellent - that being said, I still think the "bottom" of the pf will be just like BDK, but the upper half will have the tweaks and new stuff.
Iron Man was a tweak of Austin Powers, but it's a million times more fun to play. That will prob be the case with B66, but let's not forget the game was built off a previous foundation.
Quoted from dmbjunky:Do you think a reveal mid September?
I still think we won't see anything until the Epic party during Expo.
LTG : )
Quoted from iceman44:Because Stern is trying to F everybody?
I don't think so, deposits are "refundable" and the LE buyers don't give a shit.
My distributor said the deposit WAS refundable, and I've bought from him before....I'm in....think this will be a great pin
Quoted from CrazyLevi:There are literally hundreds of pinball machines you can acquire for under $5K. Why not give one of those games a shot before going the HOOKERS N BLOW route?
I think you answered your own question...
Quoted from iceman44:This time, 30th anniversary, great theme, LCD, etc. I'm in..............................
Next year will be the 31st anniversary...
Quoted from Magic_Mike:This is the Transformers hype all over again.
We all know how that turned out.
TF didn't have Lyman, hand drawn art, LCDs, humor, or a good toy.
On the other hand TFLE was Close to $5k NIB.
For the record I wouldn't pre-order jack without at least seeing pics/video/playing it.
Quoted from iceman44:Are $10k pins sustainable over the long term? Probably not.
You're right. Pretty soon we'll start seeing threads like: "Will a Batman 66 LE fit in a...wait, I don't have a car. I'm calling Uber Pinball!"
Quoted from Rarehero:TF didn't have Lyman, hand drawn art, LCDs, humor, or a good toy.
With that snoozer of a layout, Lyman, LCDs, and art couldn't have come to the game's rescue. Even a killer toy instead of that awful rocking upper playfield wouldn't have saved the game.
