It's been 25 years since the highly successful Fish Tales pinball machine and there hasn't been another fishing theme since. In this day and age of licensed themes it only makes sense that pinball should pay tribute to the longest running sportsman TV show in history.

Thoughts?

Absolutely bring on bass masters.

"gone bass fishin', leave a message!"

#6 6 years ago

Umm, no - unless of course it includes a real water feature...

Probably no real water, but would you buy one if it came with a singing topper?

River Monsters all the way. It is the last season . April 23, 2017

I'd rather have another fishing theme then most of what's coming out. Fishtales is a ton of fun.

#12 6 years ago

I'm not a fisherman at all but it would be cool to have the balls in a lock mech that locked the balls. Once the balls are in you have to hit a few targets. As you hit the targets the balls get closer to the boat but every 5 seconds the balls get further from the boat. The mech would act just like if you were fishing and that the balls would be the fish trying to getaway. Once balls hit the boat... "What a beauty" MB

Tennessee is right in the heart of bassmasters country!

I think Jaws is about as close to a fishing theme we'll see anytime soon. But would love a fishing game that featured a sub level playfield that appeared to be underwater. maybe a magnet on a string/pole toy ala Junkyard crane.

#16 6 years ago

I wouldn't buy it but I'd give it a shot. Super Black Bass fishing on the SNES was one of my favorite games, for whatever reason. I don't fish, I didn't fish as a kid. Would be interesting to see a game with a reeling mechanic by making certain shots to catch fish. Could do a really nice risk/reward setup with a "catch or release" shot and the bigger the fish you go for, the more points it's worth, but if it breaks the line you're just dicked for 0 points.

"Here's a little song I wrote...."

I hate that f'ing fish!

#18 6 years ago

That would be very fitting.

Bill Dance will gladly endorse this new game, or anything else that will pay him anything. They can use video of him fishing in his private stocked pond on the LCD.

I'm hoping they can get Roland Martin on board too.

I agree 100 percent and have been wondering for some time why there is only one fishing themed pin!

#26 6 years ago

Oh, there's more than one. Just not lately.

"It's a fishing show!"

#31 6 years ago

Speaking of fishing does anyone else remember that show on ESPN (before Disney took over) called Fish On? Girls in bikinis fishing that was basically soft core porn? I don't really have a point, that show just popped in my head when I read the thread headline.

Yep, that's the one. Hard to believe ESPN used to run that.

Hey Odin, that's a nice fish!! (said in a redneck drawl). BTW what's with the Kolchack avatar?

Quoted from poppapin:

Kolchak is on every Sunday night at 10:00 on MeTV and I've been watching them all just like when they first aired. My favorite show of all time. Last Sunday was Mr. R.I.N.G.

#38 6 years ago

for a minute there i thought you we're talking about me

#39 6 years ago

Maybe Ed Bassmaster. That might be a theme to consider!

#41 6 years ago

Old Bill does have some funny bloopers.

Yeah, I liked that show back when it 1st aired, tried watching now but seems kind of dated.

#43 6 years ago

There are more people that fish than play pinball. Billion $ industry, I would not put and old white guy on the LCD though.

#45 6 years ago

Sadly,...the truth is Bill Dance never danced, not even at his daughters wedding.

That yellowfin weighed about 100lbs. Fought him for a good 45 minutes.. He was mighty tasty.
