Base Hit score 0-9 score reel issue

Hi. I'm new. I have a 1967 Base Hit machine. It was working perfectly when I got it. 2 weeks later the 0 - 9 score reel started sticking. It resets. I cleaned it and put it back together properly. When the reel needs to advance to show the first point scored the coil energizes but won't advance the score. When I turn it off, it advances the scored point. I have missed something or the problem is not where I think it is. I'm having trouble finding a forum post with a similar issue with a similar game. Perhaps I need to look further, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for assistance. Thanks for your time. Have a nice day.

So it sounds as if the the 0 - 9 coil is remaining energized when a run is scored. I went through a few
Williams Pitch & Bats, and the 0 - 9 drum unit energizes from the Run Relay. The Run Relay should be
in the backdoor. When this happens, you'll want to check if the Run Relay is remaining energized..
I'm thinking that it probably is, and if so, the Run Relay is energized from the Run Switch which (if
I remember correctly), is on the Man-Run-Unit near home base. Sounds like the Run Switch is maybe
sticking, but if it is staying stuck, it seems the Run Relay would energize immediately at first start up, but it"s
not until a run is scored, right?

Correct. The coil is not energized at startup. Only when a run is scored. I'll bust out the test lights and check everything in the circuit beginning with the run relay tomorrow. Thanks again. I appreciate it.

I did not have much time today for Base Hit. I decided to run an experiment before anything else to see if the 2nd player score reel was exhibiting the same problem. It was. But it's not what I thought. The score reels turn after a moment or two. I did not want to inadvertently damage anything by leaving the coil energized after a score, so when the reel didn't turn right away after a run, I decided to power down. As I was reaching for the off switch, the reel turned. I did this a few times for both players and it needs a second or two to turn the reel. When you score two runs only one point is scored. That wasn't right, so I powered down. When I powered up again the unscored point registers, the bell rings, the reel advances, and gameplay starts up. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

This is what has me wondering a little bit. You might want to make sure that the contacts in the Game Over Relay are
adjusted properly, and also, there's a make/break set of contacts in the 3rd Out Relay you'll want to check for true
adjustment. There may be other issues, but resolving this one first may be the best bet..

Thanks. I'll be checking things out after Christmas.
