I thought I was the only one with an NOS Barracora playfield! I got this playfield back in 2006 and had it CC'd locally. Barracora is one of my all time favorite games. I fell in love with it when I first played it back in 1983 at a local pub in Taunton, Somerset (UK). I later purchased a really nice example from Gary Flower - that game had just one a "best of" category at some show in Blackpool. This is my second Barracora now and it isn't going anywhere!

The backglass is OK but the blacks are getting a bit blotchy though you don't notice it in the dark. My only regret is that I didn't scan the NOS playfield before I installed it.

Quoted from mof:

I'm going to install another bulb socket to get some light next to the 30k 60k 90k where it's dark. Don't you agree?

Does your playfield have the lamp hole already drilled next to the switch hole?

I really wish I'd scanned my NOS playfield when I got it several years ago... CPR had only just done Centaur at the time so it was early days in the playfield repro market. LMK if you need a pics.

The purple Barracora text looks good but I don't like it around the eyes.

Great pics - thanks for sharing

Did Roger give you any interesting information about the game? I've never been too sure about Barry Oursler's involvement with the design - did he wire the whitewood?

This may help with part #'s

The parts supplement is available on IPDB. I only extracted the page

I do have a full manual that I will scan when I get the time..

The two wires look like they should go to the connector in the bottom right corner "GI In". The GI fuse has been replaced by a yellow wire link - that needs to be fixed! Replace the wire with a good quality fuse holder.

FYI Flipper Fuse F4 is installed in my game.

What's the deal with the cabinet?

I'm pretty certain I have seen white bumper caps on Barracora as well as yellow so they may well be factory originals.

Check out the white bumper caps on this game:

I don't think a repro backglass has been done yet. I do recall Stu at CPR looking for a Barracora bg to scan (and I believe he found one). Hopefully there is a repro in the works as mine is a bit funky in the blacks.

I wish I'd scanned my NOS Playfield before I installed it That was back in the early days of CPR.

Here's a pic of my Barracora pf (just cc'd) and my friends CPR Centaur pf back in 2006.

Don't need a playfield but I would love a new Barracora backglass!

It's a real shame that the black ink always seems to separate on Barracora backglasses. IIRC my old Cosmic Gunfight had a similar affliction.

I knew it was a great game when I first played it back in 1984

Quoted from pinwiztom:

My main complaint about the game rules,
is that the spinner only stays lit for about 9 seconds
and it is not operator adjustable on the mpu.

I like that feature

My only complaint would be that Multi-ball needs some sort of jackpot/incentive otherwise it's not really worth going for.

I don't know of any other games that used the dual action lane change feature - are there any? Mustang looks like it's similar but I've been unable to figure out exactly.

Anyone in WA or BC want to let one go?

Is that your ad on the Vancouver CL? You have very good taste in pinball Good luck with your search as Barracora is IMHO the best System 7 game!!

Quoted from Dayhuff:

To me the colors of the glass look a bit off, the reds and the flesh tones I think.....but it's hard to tell sometimes until you see it in person.
John

Could someone that has purchased the CPR repro Barracora backglass please post a side by side shot to compare colours? The lower sky appears to be a shade of purple rather than blue...

#257 1 year ago

@dayhuff is that because of the colors?

#262 1 year ago

g94 thank you for posting the side by side shot so quickly That's made my mind up ...like Dayhuff I'll be sticking with my original which is really only suffering in the black areas (like all Barracora backglasses I've seen). It's a shame that the colours are off as everything else looks really good except for the Williams logo as previously mentioned.

Maybe with the new digital process CPR can get the colors right....I'll wait until then

Working on a swap for a friend. Going very smoothly. Looks great on the rotisserie after a fresh coat of wax[quoted image]

It's that a Mirco playfield?
