Quoted from hisokajp:

I am missing one of my kicker switch, the one under the PF that close when the kicker arm goes into the coil. That SW is pretty custom, super short blades with fish paper and a big stack, i do not really have any that would work well. Anyone knows where i can buy a repro? Or if anyone has a spare?

Hi guys. Picked up this Barracora a couple of months ago. Got lucky finding one so soon after looking when I discovered the beauty of it. I’m going through and repairing all as affordable as I can. Upon taking the playfield off to put in LEDs I noticed this number stamped in. It appears to be factory. I looked at every photo in here and on web without seeing another like it. Could this be a prototype or first run sequence??

Does the number correspond to the serial number? I wonder if it's an operator number.

Someone mentioned that in the main pinball posts here. I wondered if that were the case. Wishful thinking that it might be rare. Oh well

Anybody else ever notice the similarity of the gal on the BG to a certain young (at the time) actress?

I believe the artist used that exact Brooke Shields photo to create the Backglass, I think it was mentioned in an article in pinball magazine or book.
Maybe the Roger Sharp article?

Quoted from gonzo73:

Found mine at TPF 2019, it was in the hallway not set up, at a used parts dealers table. Can't believe I got it, we set it up and it was minty.

Hey! That was supposed to be my machine ....Just joking, but I looked at it right before you did, walked away, came back 30 minutes later and someone (you) had bought it. It was behind their booth right across from the tournament room.... It wouldn't boot up when I looked at it, but otherwise very nice machine. I'm still looking for one.....

Not in the club yet, but played this for the first time today. What an awesome game! I really need to find one of these someday. Once I learned the rules, I couldn't stop playing. Would love to have one next to my Firepower.

My quote of 6 years ago. Well, I'm finally in the club! Picked one up at CLE·PIN.

Any must do mods I should consider? It has a Swemmer driver board and Xpin power supply. I do want to put LED displays in and I'm going to do some slight LED changes. I also need to get a new lock box lock and coin door lock. Other than those few things, it's in pretty good shape and plays really well. The playfields is pretty good, only a couple of worn spots.

Happy to take this off my wishlist!

i am not pretty much done with that game restoration, came from a container re-import. I am not touching the cabinet paint at this time but the rest went through the whole process... It sure is a great game, most played in my collection rn

changed the flipper to WPC so you don't get weak floppy original type

Nope.

Would have taken some imagination to come up with that from Brooke Shields...
That image was created based on his gf.

I'll have to look at that, may already have been done because they're pretty snappy.

I bought Wolfpac blue displays and like how they look. The last digit of the second and fourth player displays is out, I'll have some troubleshooting to do. Nothing to do with the new displays because I had that issue to begin with.

Anyway here's the before for comparison sake:

Well been fighting with my Barracora cpu driver board for a year now. We had random fuse blows when some solonoids fires but not every time. Good friend who is very talented electrically found out we had a bad ic chip lock on 4 solonoids at once at random using a circuit breaker and logic probe. He removed board and replaced chip and socketed it also redid the 40 pin connector as well. Went to put back in game last week and now we can’t get cpu to boot. Was hoping to get some info on a repo board if any viable ones are available. Sucks we have really been hammering on it but can’t seem to get this board set working reliably. He spent the hurricane going over it yesterday on his bench test but still no luck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks on the waiting list. They haven’t updated since august hope they are cranking them out. Lots of demand with black knights and barracoras needing them.

Hello, was wondering if anyone has a working 2x/3x PF rom patch I could try?

I was given one, but on testing, we found that the multiplier can carry forward ball to ball, etc. so I was not sure if there are some newer versions floating around.

Thank you!

Hi, I have been lucky enough to pick up a fairly decent Barracora and am really enjoying it! I have a question, yesterday I was playing it with my son in law and at the end it seems to award the winner a timed multi ball. Is there something in the settings that allows for this to happen in single player at all? I don't have a manual and the IPDB doesn't seem to have one to download.

No, not for single player. Just a nice bonus for the winner of a multiplayer game.

I assumed from the setting above, if you set 'bonus ball' that it would give you that?

Never tried tho, and there is some discrepancy on this one between some documentation and what is in the code.

Thank you for the replies. It just seems quite unbalanced, I'm guessing the high score on my game was achieved during a multi player game as you can add quite a lot of points!

Really doubt that. The bonus ball scoring is quite low TBH, as 30 seconds is not enough time to really build up any multipliers or bonus etc.

The key to high scores with the original rom is in the top lock as a ball save, extra balls on the second inlanes, and working up the multipliers and advancing bonus with the spinner for a collect. I'm sure as you get more hours on it, you'll blow away the previous score.

I’ve been hoarding parts, waiting to become a member of this club. However, this weekend I am clearing out my parts bin and I have a couple of these NOS ball lock assemblies. Did any machine, in addition to Barracora, use these?

I was doing a trade deal for a Paragon... but wound up with this instead. Not complaining! Fun learning the rules. Wasn't supposed to be working all the way but moving fixed it!

Anyone got an extra of these top left plastics lying around? Maybe one you replaced with repros?
