It took me 3+ years to finally buy mine. The guy never played it and it was covered with piles if work papers. He owned it for 12 years and bought it from an operator in 1990.

Fun game for sure.

Does anyone here have a good list of LEDs for the controlled lamps?

Quoted from patrickvc:

I just joined the club and I have a question regarding the playfield. Mine did not have mylar when I got it, but it seems like it has a clear layer that looks like a dull clearcoat, but the weird thing is it is cracked all over. Not like planking, but looks like big cracks all over like cracks in a road or crank in a windshield all over the playfield.

Would you be able to post pictures? It it the same on the upper playfield?

#65 8 years ago

Does the cracking extend into the left or right outlane or below the bottom flippers?

If not then whoever pulled the Mylar caused that. Unfixable in my experience. I saw something similar on a bk2k.

I am replacing a fried jet bumper coil and my picture shows the red wires on one coil on the left leg while the neighboring coil has that red wire on the right-side leg. The problem was caused by the playfield protector not being fully aligned and the jet bumper skirt got trapped underneath it causing the coil and associated Q77 transistor to lock on. Both need to be replaced.

In the one picture I have already pulled the blue wire.

It appears to be original wiring. Can anyone compare to their alignment?

**Edit** I now see that there is no diode on the coil so wire orientation does not matter.

The head is just barely wider than a standard system 11. It sits flush (ie stacked) on either side of the cabinet, so roughly 1" thick like the thickness of a sheet of the plywood on each side.

#206 5 years ago

It is typical for the machine to reclibrate up and down two or three times before coming to rest when the batteries have been replaced and memory lost.

After 5 (?) years, I finally received a CPR repro playfield today. Very very nice!

My new left slingshot plastic broke. Rather than buying another new set, does anyone have an extra one that they would sell?

Quoted from antinea:

I'd be interested, since mine's bottom is rubbing away against the glass, but the outline isn't of the same colour as the ones I see online...[quoted image]

It looks like you have a plastic lift channel on your backglass that might be the cause of your decal rubbing. It might also be causing more strain on your carrier bracket.

If you haven’t already put the word out, I suggest that you try and find the original metal version.

I disagree with Yelobird and I can all but guarantee that with the legs off on its back end the machine will probably tip over at some point. The head makes it unable to stand upright without additional prep work and padding underneath the head when standing.

It’s a three person job, or two with arm forklift straps because of the backbox shape.

I’d leave the legs on if I had to ship it. I’d also ask the seller to raise the magnet, pull the extra carriage bolts needed to fold the head down and put pillows between the playfield glass and backglass when prepping it for shipping. You could possibly leave the captive balls in, but pull the other three in the trough as well as the Freestyle ball.

Put no moving blanket between the head and machine as the width of the cabinet is almost identical to the width of the backglass. What this translates to is that the additional thickness of the moving blanket along the sides of the cabinet will stretch the sides of the backbox which could cause some damage.

Is anyone here interested in a brand new Mirco reproduction main playfield for $850 shipped?

Does anyone have the dimensions of the four wood lower playfield rails?

I believe that they are 1-1/8” tall and 1/2” wide so just the various lengths is all I need.

I’m getting ready to do a playfield swap and the machine is offsite.

CPR Playfield clear coat should have had enough time to harden up.

Could a fellow owner tell me what is the height of a Banzai from the tallest point of the head to the lower edge of the cabinet straight down from that point on the head?

I’m wondering with the head up and legs off, if it will clear the door on an enclosed U-Haul 5 x 8 trailer with a door clearance of 4’10”.

Added over 3 years ago:

I can verify that this machine can fit inside of a 5 x 8 U-Haul trailer with the head up, legs off of course. It clears the roll up door by 1-2”. Short distance haul on smooth roads.

We’ve moved into 5th place!

New oak rails, most ball guides and GI wiring strings are installed.

We’ve moved into 4th place!

The wiring harness and light boards survived the dishwasher and the other assemblies have been cleaned up (ultrasonic cleaner when possible) and rebuilt. New foam backing for the recycled stand up targets. The Yellow Belly targets were replaced.

I will start soldering and making other adjustments over the next couple of days.

Does anyone here have a good picture of the upper right, ramp mounted playfield plastic? Mine is scratched and chipped.

It appears to have been shifted to account for the chipped off piece. Also it appears to be missing a stand off and it is notably above the mounting point built into the backboard.

Nice find,

Lap Count is very different and inserts leading to saucer are different.

Quoted from orlandu81:

Hello BR owners! I have a quick question, not a big deal and it doesn't bother me much but I am wondering what metal part is supposed to go here and utilize this small hole. I imagine it is not a necessary part, since I have been playing my machine for many months without it. I thought at first it was from a prior owner but notice in a few pics there is some sort of thin metal post that is in some pics.[quoted image][quoted image]

Maybe this pic helps.

I’m clearing out my parts bin. This is a partial set of used plastics and some wiring, flasher boards & switch from the ramp.

Make a reasonable offer and add for usps shipping.

Quoted from pindel:

Upper playfield is already nice but mirco has them. The main one is a Cpr silkscreen

I went the same route of keeping the original upper playfield and swapping in a cpr silkscreened version I bought in 2018 for the main playfield.
