Quoted from HEAD_boss_HOG:

I might have to make a trip to ann arbor. If I wasn't such a Michigan Wolverine hater, I would buy my tix tonight.

Good news, it's not actually in Ann Arbor! It's off a dirt road in the sticks about 20 minutes north of the city. You're more likely to run into a literal wolverine than a college athlete.

Quoted from Black_Knight:

Most pinball auctions end up in ridiculous price territory, and with the visibility this one has it will be worse. Add on to that a big buyers fee, CA tax rate, and the extra cost of logistics, I'd be better off just overpaying locally.

Agree with all of that. Only silver lining is that it might keep distributors from swooping in and flipping truckfulls, if games are already going for retail after fees/expenses. I could see desperate operators overpaying, assuming they'll make it back in coin drop. Collectors of course will pay whatever they go for. Prices don't have to make business sense to us.

I totally get sprinkling the high-dollar pins amongst the average stuff, but mixing pins & vids across two weekends would only exasperate fans of each. I have zero interest in buying vids, and I'd assume there are plenty of vid guys with no interest in pins.

Three full days of one type is already pushing it for most bidders' time & attention spans. How many pin collectors would make two trips, AND sit through hundreds of vid items? Anyone interested in both pins & vids will have to be there both weekends anyway.

Quoted from Code_Blue:

So you would rather they organize it better so it's easier to bid and drive prices higher on you?

If I was driving a truck halfway across the country, I’d rather risk paying a bit more per game than make that round trip twice. So, yes?

...and with internet bidding you don't even have to disguise the shill(s).

Spooky figured out they don't need Danesi, Priepke, Kerins, or anyone to sell games. Theme alone sells out the entire run instantly. Buyers made their bed, now they gotta lie in it.

Quoted from Heretic_9:

What sort of dolt would drop that extent of change sight unseen?

Only a couple thousand of your fellow pinsiders.

Quoted from Heretic_9:

(Pins are large, heavy machines, not so easily re-sold or disposed of.)

Not sure if you've seen the market lately but they're pretty easily re-sold.

Unless those comments were sarcastic, in which case you found a sucker. *shakes fist*
