Quoted from museumofpinball:

Friends, staff and volunteers...stay tuned for an update coming in a few weeks...and please in the meantime, try and be nice to each other.
We all share the same interest and love of pinball, so let's try and be respectful of everyone.
I understand there are a lot of questions about the future of MOP, and truly appreciate all the support, ideas and concerns. Please stay tuned.
Regardless of what the future holds for the MOP, let's be thankful for the good times we have had over the last 5+ years. All of which was made possible by the staff, fantastic and dedicated volunteers, friends and visitors and of course my father John Weeks. He has graciously shared what is probably the most epic collection in the world of pins and arcade games with thousands of people.
P.S We have not painted ourselves into any corner We paint outside the lines, always have and always will.
Thanks again and hope everyone can stay happy and healthy,
Johnathon Weeks
MOP

Gentlemen, guys, guys, guys.
See post #89, please.
We we're all lucky in the first place the Weeks family brought us this amazing collection and let us play with it.
Thank You John and Johnathon, Chuck and all the techs on both sides.

Quoted from DakotaMike:

There are many in the pinball hobby who don't want to see us lose another public collection of this magnitude.

To late. Looks like a big auction coming soon.
It does not appear to be the August 7th auction at Captain's.

#134 2 years ago
Quoted from gamera9:

Where is the auction info?

Not published yet. Coming soon.

Quoted from uncivil_engineer:

Man I hope not, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

We've all been hoping for this not to happen.
But Alas, it has and auction will take place.
I have not heard numbers or quantity of sale, but i know it will be large.
I respect what the Week's family created and their decisions. As much as it sucks and saddens me, all good things come to an end.
We were lucky we had it in the first place for the time we did.
I Thank the Week's family for the good times we shared.

#139 2 years ago
Quoted from Knxwledge:

May I ask how you know for sure? Direct contact with them? Article?

Quoted from MrBally:

Those who were part of the team/staff were told a week ago by Mr. Weeks.

Thanks MrBally, you said it best.
I was reluctant to answer that question.
Been there since the beginning, have the red shirt.

#199 2 years ago
Quoted from rvdv:

Sorry to hear museum is done
Great times
Those are not his cars by the way
Lambo is mine

I can confirm this. Robert, thanks for posting.

The clever deep dive Ive seen in this thread im annoyed with.

#270 2 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

Fry's was great if you wanted to go see the shelf space where the item you wanted to buy should be.

The last 3-5 Fry's was open I thought they were selling the empty shelves.

#306 2 years ago
Quoted from nsduprr:

My point is that the auction can be logistical nightmare for a buyer unless you’re local and looking at only a few games.

There are operators chomping at the bit nation wide wanting to fill a c-container or 2.
Many people have this idea already.
Personally, i might grab 1 or 2 machines.
Definitely becoming the Biggest Pinball auction in History.

#362 2 years ago
Quoted from thechakapakuni:

PinBallPeteFromSD so the Auction and machines will be at Captains in Anaheim instead of Banning?

No, they are all at Banning.
The auction will be held from there.
In person day of auction at Banning.
Captain's is the Auctioneer.

#375 2 years ago
Quoted from nsduprr:

WTF: Next time try making it harder to read.

9. Bidders can not wear cargo shorts.

Have to go deep pinside for that joke. Levi?

#417 2 years ago
Quoted from xsvtoys:

There are 3 specific machines that I played there a lot and would not mind having. So I would appreciate it if you peckerwoods would all refrain from bidding those up on me. And no I am not going to name them here!!!!!!!!!

Hope its not the 3 I want!
Still debating what size uhaul to rent.

#457 2 years ago
Quoted from Code_Blue:

Having never made it to a Banning show - did the MoP have a selection of non-pinball EM games and similar? Like rifle games, shuffle bowlers, etc?

Yes, there is a smattering of just about everything. I'd say about 15-20 gun games. Couple bowlers, etc.

#510 2 years ago

Since we're on Captain's yesterday....
Anyone see the Killer Queen go for 10k with premium?
Good deal there. Hope it stays local and we see tournaments show up again. Covid kind of killed the queen stuff.

And on the subject of buy backs.
Dont see that happening at Banning.
To much inventory to move.

#513 2 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

How is that a good deal? I got it for $2 on Switch.

You know your right. And i got robbed, i spent 25 for the switch version.

Quoted from gonzo73:

Man that walk through is just depressing.
Seeing the Museum fall apart is just awful.

I know I'm probably misreading this.
But, is there a current walk through video?

#606 2 years ago
Quoted from clodpole:

Is there a way to find out winning bid amounts as the auction proceeds? Early sales may show whether prices are good, bad or crazy.

There's 1300 lots. Prices will be all over the place.
Yes, when watching live the past lot results are there and you can see activity.
These will be very long auction days. First day will be 8-10 hours, Sat theb11th, min 12 hour day.

#609 2 years ago
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:

Check the captains facebook page. They posted a walk through video a few days ago.

Watched video and CC did a good job. Thanks
Need to buy a lotto ticket for a few of these titles.
I hope I get 1 or 2 of the maybe 5 I'm interested in.

#612 2 years ago
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:

Yes, in classic engineering style, I already have a spreadsheet setup with all my ‘wants’.

My mind is spinning.
It's like a candy store for pinball.

#781 2 years ago

When my cousin in Colorado texts and asks...
You know about this Banning pinball auction?
My 85 year old mom calls and asks...
Did you hear about this pinball auction in banning?
When everyone at works asks.....
You going to Banning this weekend?

I'd say...the whole world knows about Banning, and my buddy in Australia is calling in an hour.

#783 2 years ago
Quoted from fridgejam:

Sorry if I missed this info if it was posted earlier, but is there any way to see the final bid price live as soon as the bid for that items ends, or better still monitor bids as they are made online?

It's live. You will see final hammer price as it happens.

#804 2 years ago
Quoted from mostater:

Is it possible to watch the auction live without having to register? I'm not bidding, but would like to see where the prices go.

Yes, it's live. You can just watch it.
In regards to pick UPS.
Captain's is a business and auction house.
Of course, they will help you make all arrangements. You pay, they will help you figure out a load out.

#875 2 years ago
Quoted from Oneangrymo:

lets start placing bets on how much machines go for. The first one - THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN PINBALL MACHINE GOTTLIEB
I will bet you 100 bucks itll sell for 420.00

Don't go to Vegas. Auction hasn't started and your out a $100 bucks already.

#929 2 years ago

There own press nation wide is killing bandwidth. 10,000 people logging in.

#2063 2 years ago
Quoted from AnimeDude892:

HOLY SHIT!!! JUST WOW. $14k FOR BTTF?!? JUST WOW!!!

Quoted from patrickvc:

14k for BTTF. Stern you listening? Old tired theme huh. I think not so much

Quoted from BC_Gambit:

Only 14K for Back to the Future? Makes my GNR LE purchase seem.... conservative

Quoted from Asmig:

14k hammer price on BTTF
I cannot even

Quoted from EJS:

You went to bed as BTTF hitting 5 figures in 12 seconds.

So glad I own a BTTF.

#2406 2 years ago

:-/=Listing my BTTF for 10k on pinside right now!

#2411 2 years ago
Quoted from fosaisu:

Do you suspect the final bids are fake? Or just that there’s shill bidding going on? If the final bids are fake what’s the angle (seems like they’re just failing to sell their games then)?

We will see in the weeks after auction when Captains announces the next auction of the barn non working project lot and everything that didn't get paid for.

#2649 2 years ago

I've decided I can't start drinking today yet.
I might accidentally bid on something.

#2717 2 years ago

I just want to let everyone know....
If Popeye sells for more than 8 Thousand.
The End Of The World Is Near.

#2722 2 years ago
Quoted from NPO:

Dude, DH is already $8.5K without the auctioneer even starting....get your canned goods and shotguns...

Beat me to it! My eyes and ears are bleeding.

#2749 2 years ago
Quoted from o07eleven:

At least I shouldn't need to stock up on canned goods.

Quoted from lifefloat:

Under 8K
the sun will rise tomorrow

Quoted from Budman:

The world is not over, thank goodness!

PHEW, we made it gang. We will see Monday.
For a moment thought this auction might be one of the signs of the apocalypse.

#2774 2 years ago
Quoted from NPO:

For $22.5K, I will deliver my TAF to your door and take your money as well as a swift kick to the nuts cause I deserve it for robbing anyone like that.

Take 20k and skip the kick to nuts.

#2787 2 years ago

It just occured to me that I know have a base price to adjust my collection for insurance purposes..Calling insurance company tomorrow.

#2792 2 years ago
Quoted from Agent_Hero:

No mention of ColorDMD on TotAN

Boo, colordmd adds value at this auction.
What's Captain thinking?

#2796 2 years ago
Quoted from Asmig:

At 14k would it even make a difference?

Don't hate me. I see my collection today and would love some of this action.
Combo deal. Back to future, Totan, Black rose,...
25k, today only.
Pm me.
And my Totan and Black Rose have colordmd.

#2801 2 years ago
Quoted from rvdv:

I sell all my shit also
$500,000 as is /where is
Combo deal - “ right here “

Good deal here, I've seen your collection. Totally worth it. But. You have to throw in the car in bay 3.

#2811 2 years ago

Full disclosure, I bid 4200 on the catacomb. And almost hit bid at 5k.
Why am I having Bidders remorse?

#2835 2 years ago
Quoted from fireball2:

I just sold a Catacomb for 2k. No regrets.

Ouch. Your bread is awesome.

#2865 2 years ago

See Honey, no really. Baby look.
I did good, our collection is worth a fortune.
No....No I'm not selling. I'm just showing you our back to the Future is worth 14k. And our ToTan, no I'm not selling the totan. Wait, what, sell the BTTF? You love that game!
Sell the Totan too! Wait, wait. I was just showing that I did good with all these purchases.
No baby...shit.

That backfired.

#2879 2 years ago
Quoted from xsvtoys:

Was wondering where that Strikes and Spares came from, there was never one there when I visited that I saw.

John bought like 50 games last year during covid. Yesterday I saw at least 10 vids from Previous Captains auction last year for sale.
And John did good.

#2923 2 years ago
Quoted from Knxwledge:

That was probably the dumbest shit I've heard him say yet

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Greg Freres the artist confirmed BMX was originally ET but they couldn’t snag the license lol.

Indeed BMX was supposed to be ET.
I had one for 4 years and did a bunch of research on it. Best outlines ever with flipper button saves. Miss it.

#2930 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Just got back from my pretend auction ![quoted image][quoted image]

Tell Us. How Much?

#2932 2 years ago

only 200 more lots today.

#2944 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

hammer price - 1100 cdn funds ..No fees, just 3 hrs and gas. ...And a bottle of pirate whisky was added to the deal.
[quoted image]

900 usd, Nice. And the whisky, score!

#2950 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Thx Eric ...already in the whisky!

Thats a great Game.

#2955 2 years ago

I would have bought 15-20 of these EM's for 1000-1500. Oh well.

#2968 2 years ago
Quoted from o07eleven:

Wait so they take 18% from the buyer and then another 18% from the seller for the price? Jesus...

No comment.Cough, cough.
Chris and John are good friends and captain's has been involved with most every banning event the past 5 years.
So, relationships help. Think Shriners and masons.

#3194 2 years ago

Just saw a great segment on our local spectrum news. About a 5 minute piece. It will play about 10 times today if you have spectrum here in so cal.

#3204 2 years ago
Quoted from Heretic_9:

Ditched Spectrum TV, but still have their internet service. Is there a URL where this can be found ?

My wife won't let me cut the cord.
I'll try and find and post.

#3207 2 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

It's worse than that Bob.
What about all the pins that were either donated to MoP for free, or at greatly reduced rates by people who thought they were doing a good deed for the pinball community?
What a racket.

I'm going to keep this a gentleman's agreement and cash on glass among friends thing.
But, I did sell a few games to John Week's and was always happy because they were now part of the museum, and I could always visit my old machines. And they were already bulletproof and no one needed to work on my old games.
Anyway,....John would always talk me down a certain amount and ask for the museum price.
I always gave him the museum price, about 10-20% less than I had it on pinside for, and was Happy to do so.
Edit- after reading some posts below. I'm not bitter. I happy for John. Congrats to him and weeks family for what they built for us to play with. It's his stuff, he bought it and found the best way to sell it.

#3228 2 years ago
Quoted from Coindork:

There are still a shitload of games in storage, other parts of the property and off site that are not in this auction.
The idea was to clear out the main building.

The idea was to get these 2 main halls cleared out.
There will be more auctions announced later in year from what I understand.
This is the core collection and good stuff.
The barn and storage stuff will be a complete crap shoot.

#3336 2 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

It still boggles my mind that they are sending out invoices instead of charging credit cards.
Is that really confirmed?!?! Maybe it’s just for “friends of the museum?”
If that’s really true, there’s gonna be tens of thousands of dollars of bid welchers on this as people sober up / tell their wives. I seriously
Cannot comprehend them running the auction this way.

I've been doing auctions worldwide for 25 plus years. I always get an invoice first.
Believe it. This is how it works.
I've also bought 15-20 machines from captain's for 10 years. Beth always sends invoice first.

#3430 2 years ago
Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

I am retaining my extensive pinball artwork collection of NOS backglasses, translites, prototype sketches, and design diagrams. This allows much less space required.
I do assist with reproductions when no other reliable sources are available. I just don't participate directly in the hobby anymore.

Call Captains in a couple weeks. I'm sure he would fly back and auction collection.
I have a good source that a few arcades nation wide have already called.

#3531 2 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

Magic Girl or JJP Pirates with the three discs.
LTG : )

Lloyd. That's a JJP CE. The pirate's prototype is long gone. It left 3 years ago. Went to a few shows. Then back to New Jersey.

#3551 2 years ago
Quoted from Knxwledge:

A friend of my dad's who has a couple games but isn't a very big collector, doesn't really know how to work on his own stuff, told me he bought the Barb Wire from the Museum auction. He's gonna hire me to work on it for him, he says it's working aside from a sluggish flipper and sling but I bet it needs a shop job. He also said he wanted to put a few color LEDs in it.

Meet your friends dad Monday.
Helped load it into truck. Nice guy.
He was happy to take home Pam.

What did verns world and Jolly park go for?
Working, damn it, missed them.

#3825 2 years ago
Quoted from Asmig:

988 Verne's World Pinball Machine Spinball SS $4,700
989 Jolly Park Pinball Machine Spinball SS $5,700

Well damn. I would have gone to 4800-5000. Oh well, no , damn.

#3828 2 years ago
Quoted from NPO:

Dialed In LE goes for $7500, and this community is ready to pay $11K now for a JJP LE.
The irony is amazing.

When it was holding so long at 6500, I was very tempted.

#3956 2 years ago
Quoted from Coindork:

Whomever bought the EM Monte Caro.
I donated that game.
The spring for the pedal is inside the game and just needs to be attached.
I blows the fuse for the ball eject every once in a while after long periods of time, which is why it would not eject the ball.
Game works just needs TLC.

Umm, Hello. IT Was Me and I'm super stoked!
I think I just got the cheapest lot at this auction.
I know this game. Only from long ago.
Thank you for the heads up.
I'll be in touch and already have an idea about that fuse.
I just wonder we're the ball is?
I won something!

#3968 2 years ago
Quoted from Coindork:

I took the game to ZapCon 3 years ago and it got the shit played out of it there.
The spring broke at the show and we jimmy rigged it with some pinball rubbers from the Marco booth.
Don't trip out when you see a bunch of pinball rubbers attached to the peddle replacing the spring, lol.
Joe, the arcade tech ordered the correct spring, which is sitting inside the machine and never installed.
If you want to know the history on the machine, it came out of an arcade museum in New Mexico that went defunct.

Quoted from Coindork:

Whomever bought the EM Monte Carlo.
I donated that game.
The spring for the pedal is inside the game and just needs to be attached.
I blows the fuse for the ball eject every once in a while after long periods of time, which is why it would not eject the ball.
Game works just needs TLC.

Quoted from Coindork:

The ball is probably in there.
If not it used the same ball as Ice Cold Beer, Zekes Peak and Fire Escape so its easy to get.
John fell in love with the machine at the show and I was out of room on my trailer because I bought two pins a the show, so I gave it to the museum.
If you need help with it when you get it, let me know.
I pretty familial with it.

I can't thank you enough!!!
I owe you, and I'll let you know it's progress.
Super fun. I seriously think this is the cheapest lot so far at Banning.

#3979 2 years ago

oh man, would love the Green Monster! This thing is cheap at 12k. No room.

#3980 2 years ago
Quoted from NicoVolta:

Man... I wish I had the space and 3-phase power for that FX Simulation unit. Whoever buys that and can put it to good use is getting an incredible deal on a legit thrill ride.

This thing is a steal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#3986 2 years ago
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Not running. Nutting.[quoted image]

And a working amusement park ride sells for 14k? WTF.

#3987 2 years ago
Quoted from Karnov:

Sold for 14k. The pump motor is 240v 3 phase, but it's all standard industrial parts. So it can be swapped out. Everything else is 120v.

This is really a 110k machine. Who just stole this? Best deal so far.

#3992 2 years ago

PONG for $20k? Did that just sell for LOTR LE price? I've seen it all. Good night. Varkon comparable. What the.....more than Fx green monster.

#3995 2 years ago
Quoted from Karnov:

Why pong, why. Can nobody find this game any other place? Was like 5 of them made?

I own an original TV PONG. Wow

#3998 2 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

You have 440AC and a lot of space ?
Huge things often don't go for much.
Years ago a big Sega game, looked like a gyroscope you rode in. Went for $500 at a local arcade auction. Not many people or places have an area about 25 feet by 25 feet for the fence around it to protect bystanders. And a big game like that you almost need an attendant on duty by it.
LTG : )

Lloyd, wow I know. I was trying to figure out during bidding if I could take it to our local fair circuit. The hassle along had me out.

#4004 2 years ago
Quoted from Coindork:

I now own a Sub Hunter.
The number 1 game I wanted in the auction.
My dad would give me quarter to go play in the arcade while him and my mom were playing in bowling league.
This is the English version of Depthcharge (of which I own two), however this has a two way mirror with blacklight reflective art and a way radder cabinet.
Im soooooooo stoked right now, and my kids feel like they just involved themselves in part of my childhood.
Sooo happy to own this.
This was my favorite game as a kid.

OMG, wow. Can I come visit bring Monte Carlo?

#4010 2 years ago
Quoted from iCaryl:

Have they mentioned when they're calling it quits tonight? Time or lot #

22 more lots tonight.

#4019 2 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

How often can you own memories ?

You will get your Punchy the clown someday.

#4046 2 years ago
Quoted from rvdv:

You did not miss anything
Vernes is toast
Spinball I can get you for halve that price
From Europe

Thanks RVDV, that makes me feel better.

#4055 2 years ago
Quoted from kevmad:

Thanks for posting the hammer prices. Does anyone how much more to add for fees and taxes? For some of these probably a few thousand more in fees and taxes!

Add about 25% to hammer. Shipping extra.

#4061 2 years ago
Quoted from Wolfanoz:

Much like the news, better to just shut this off and do your weekend thing since it's going to cause more stress than not. Ain't helping the hobby (nor future purchases) if this does infect the reality of things. Realize it's a unique situation, but you can bank on most who do watch / read the news to point to this and the cost of their collection.

I'll be using the banning results as my basis for replacement insurance purposes.

#4273 2 years ago
Quoted from bobmathuse:

There's still all the stuff in the other buildings. He doesn't have to sell those yet. Tim's seen it, but I haven't been in them, don't know how many are working games and how many are projects, nor the total count. Anyone know what the plans are for those?

Nothing but work.
If you remember the house auction from pinball madness few years back we're 30 non working games we're sold. Similar to that.

#4337 2 years ago
Quoted from Quartermaster:

Just a little lighthearted story for anyone who's not totally exhausted.
In 1975 my partners and I built and opened Noah's Arkade in the La Mirada Mall, in La Mirada California.
During our 14 year run some of our patrons included many of today's collectors and aficionados, among them were the honorable Mr. John Weeks himself, also a young Chuck Casey, and Kevin Glass, to mention just a few. If you were there also you'll have to shout out.
Anyway I was inspired by EricPinballFan's purchase of the Allied Leisure "Monte Carlo" (congrats Eric) The arcade was 3650 sq ft with roughly 90 to 100 games and Monte Carlo was one. Billed as a (cheap) affordable game, (maybe $695.00 I'll look through old invoices later) it was a great purchase. It consistently outearned many of it's more expensive counterparts. It's biggest competitor for cheap but productive game was Atari's "Touch Me" (think coin operated cabinet style version of Simon) If I remember correctly, price tag was $350.00 But it made A LOT of money and drove workers batty.
Beepbeep, boop boop boop beep boop beep, all day long.
Opening day was a bit harrowing as the frontage of the arcade was 60ft across with accordian security gates which were at least 20 deep with anxious kids all the way across, literally counting down the seconds, 5,4,3,2,1 they poured in like a deluge and then the strangest thing happened. For a few minutes it was eerily quiet as they were all just taking it in, unsure what to play first. Then all of a sudden, chaos as the sound of Road Runner, Panzer Attack, Flying Tigers, Midway Gangbusters, Twin Rifle, Dune Buggy, Atari Jaws, Space Race (green fiberglass cabinet), Pong, and a color pong called Wimbledon, Fire Truck, Air Hockey, and numerous pinballs sprang to life. Most of all was full attendance on Atari's Indy 800 Purchased at the astonishing 1975 price of $10,000.00 It made it's money back over time.
So when I saw that Eric had scored the Monte Carlo it took me back to an incredible time that I was very fortunate to be part of. It also reminded me of another incredible time that I was fortunate to be part of. The Museum of Pinball was for me a walk down memory lane, and also a chance for me to meet and work with a most incredible bunch of dedicated lovers of the MAGIC of Pinball and Video, and Mechanical Arcade games. We are a lucky lot and many people will never know that "MAGIC" I enjoyed all of my time working with the volunteer techs and the Weeks family, collaborating with the crew on everything from EM and solid state pins to video games dance machines and even the aforementioned Monte Carlo.
Yes I would drive the 109 miles from my home and volunteer my time again in a heartbeat just for the satisfaction of bringing "that game" any game back to life so that someone could experience the things I had.
So, from me I give a huge THANK YOU! Mr. John Weeks for gathering all these machines and helping to keep this amazing invention alive for those who didn't get to enjoy it in it's heyday.
I'd just like to say that 10 or 15 years ago, Pinball was a fading force, video games were losing out to Xbox, Playstation, CounterStrike, and many other PC Games and diversions. My original arcade, Family Fun Arcade in Granada Hills Ca, was nearing the end of it's almost 40 year run, being held together on the strength of Street Fighter competition and Dance and music games. Arcade games in general had fallen flat and there was barely a beginning of a nostalgia driven collector community or movement. Fast forward to today and it's now a bona fide force to be reckoned with.
I credit John Weeks and ALL those who contributed to the Museum of Pinball with filling that gap between the last gasp of arcades and the new emergence of this community. Many of the games sold here would have been lost forever years ago had they not been at the Museum during that period of lack of interest. John, you made that happen. Thank You for letting me play at your house. I will be eternally grateful.
So go out and support those people who are doing this in other places Tim Arnold PHOF, Steve Young Pinball Resource, Michael Schiess Pacific Pinball Museum, Nico Volta Roanoke Pinball Museum, Calif Extreme, Golden State Pinball Fest, TPF, etc. etc. you know, you fill in the blanks, or maybe, HEY WHAT THE HELL, GET BUSY, GO OUT AND BUILD YOUR OWN DAMN MUSEUM. I'll even volunteer to help.

Ralph- love you brother. You brought a little tear to my eyes down your memory lane.
I've said it before, and will again.
We as a community were so lucky that John and the Week's family shared his dream, passion, and personal collection with so many around the world. From far and wide they came to the largest collection in the world. Just to walk the rooms and take it in visualy could easily be a 5 hour experience itself.
Ralph, I look forward to see you again soon and have you play that Monte Carlo. Pics coming soon.

As we fade into the sunset the next several weeks, as machines slowly go to new homes, and a few museums.
There is always life, from death.
More pics to come this week.

Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Thanks Eric, You actually solved an issue with me with your pics!
The folded down blackwater shows a full Orange Plate of Plastic on the top of a backbox!
Mine only had holes for an Orange diffuser over the flasher!

The piece of orange Plexy on top of Blackwater 100 is indeed original factory. As you know it covers the 2 flashers on top.
It's currently in my garage for a week if you need more information ART.
It's one of the games going to PAGG next week.

Busy day at Banning MOP.
Load out a poloza at museum today..
Trucks, trailers, uhauls, flatbeds, 18 wheelers, rickshaws, carrier pigeon.
The place was busy. I saw at least 100 games going out the door in 2 hours! 100's more gone since I was there 8 days ago.
The Captains boys kicking ass and wrapping games up for first class service. Really, super shout out to Chris's crew. Quality wrap jobs on vids and pins!
The place was hectic, no time for memories or lamenting. Some last good byes and even ran
into Chuck Casey picking up a vid.
You would never notice what's inside this building unless you had the chance to enter.

Midway Chopper and Monte Carlo I picked up.

.....and this way to the egress..
Final sigh, goodbye.
Don't look back.
Look at all those games going to good homes.
We turn the page and close the book, but the story is yet to come.
Thanks John. Big hugs.

Quoted from Methos:

That was a hell of a collection.

It's hard on the eyes to see.
I think back when I brought the first Houdini to MOP and had red carpet and red ropes to machine. Need to find those pics and post them. What a great time.
Being a tech there for so long, the building and machines were second nature and you always knew we're that one game was.
I'll miss it. I have the keys for so much there.
It hurts a little. But, I'm satisfied with what has taken place and understand the costs of it all.
Everyone wants to think John got rich. Haha.
I know what's been spent for so many years to build and keep this place open.
Moving on, change happens.

Quoted from gonzo73:

The coin play counter says 48,052 total plays.
She's been around, someone repainted her and chromed it. New parts too.
Overall great shape for a 1965 girl.

That one was on my list..
Nice to see it in New home.

Quoted from rotordave:

I’m still waiting for pictures of all these containers of expensive pinball and arcade machines showing up in Dubai and Australia like so many of you guys said …

rd

Have you seen Shipping across the ponds lately?
If....there are Banning containers....there not even at the Port yet.
But to your point. Most of the games stayed in the good ol USA. Many going to great homes and other museum collections.
There will be at least 2 containers going to OZ.

Quoted from Neal_W:

John Weeks gave a Q&A seminar at Pinball Expo on Saturday afternoon about the Banning Museum, and telling his story which is worth a listen.
His seminar is at the 3:15:00 mark.

I was there and John did a great job!!!
