I will definitely have some popcorn ready to go when I watch the auction.

I was reviewing the hammer prices and even though there was no doubt in my mind that there weren't going to be any deals, I was *still* surprised at the absurd prices...
Then it hit me that those prices didn't even take into consideration the auction fee or tax!
Unbelievable.
Quoted from starfighter:This reminds me of FOMO Barrett Jackson Weekends on ESPN2.
What is currently happening at Captain's is a lot worse. And that's sayin' something!
Quoted from bobmathuse:So here's the new Get Rich scheme: spend the next few years secretly buying up pins here and there at normal prices and shipping them to a single location in a large metro area. Once you have a thousand or two games built up, do a new and improved auction to the now-larger universe of potential buyers with all the hype here or more. Turn your $5M investment (game cost + shipping + storage) into $10M-$15M. Who wants to go in with me on it?
It's worse than that Bob.
What about all the pins that were either donated to MoP for free, or at greatly reduced rates by people who thought they were doing a good deed for the pinball community?
What a racket.
