It is actually quite a fun game to play 
Red & Ted a relative bargain at $4,700, by THESE standards. Widebody, celebrated designer, plethora of shots -- almost too much going on for a pin of its era.

I pulled the glass off it once during a show to unstick a ball. I seem to recall it was pretty average condition.

They drop out because those are just automatic bids they may have placed days or weeks ago. Those bidders might not even be watching the auction, just placed their highest bid and hoped for the best.
