Quoted from NPO:

$14K for a Tattoo Assassins......holy cow...
What a terrible game going for insane money.
"Great buy, cool game." xD.....

I sold a game to one of the programmers on it. He was telling me what a horrible experience it was to work on it. But He though none made it out. So it has to be unique.

Quoted from Gotemwill:

What’s the backstory on captain being selected to handle the auction?

Probably nothing more than they are the most well known arcade auction house out in Cali and west coast

That and I am sure john bought a ton of games from their auction over the years.

#1804 2 years ago

People seem to covet and want to collect them in their collections.

It's one of these crap games that became collectibles because they sucked so much when they were made that no one bought them.

Are they auctioning that one circus pinball machine ? The one that is like only two in the world?

#1807 2 years ago
Quoted from ForceFlow:

I think the trick is also a considerable amount of advertising.

Ya think?

This is why when people kept questioning using an auction company I just laughed.

Imagine if you are Mark and Doug from Replay right now. They had FAR better condition games and could have played up name dropping too.. and they struggled for WEEKS to sell their stuff and were basically just getting typical hobbyist pricing. Just 8 months ago! Now MoP sells their mash up collection... get coverage in NYT, on National Television, get picked up EVERYWHERE across the country... and are selling for 3-5x market prices.

Tell me again how much of a ripoff the auction is again?

They were buying facebook ads, pushing to media at multiple tiers, spun the great story... and now they are raking it in on days 1 and 2.

Thats what I heard. It did horrible on test and SFII was slowing down. At least its looks interesting. I am not a SF fan. So I asked around before I sold it to john. I figured it was a good home.. He lost money on that one, But then he got $5800 out of the boulderdash I sold him so that more and make up for it. Luckily, I have 3 more exidy max flex systems in my collection. At one point I had 5, So I passed 2 along to other museums.

Quoted from LTG:

The huge gyroscope looking thing you ride in ? If so, agreed.
LTG : )

Yep, the ultimate arcade machine ever built. The MGM in Las Vegas had 2 side by side when casinos still had the biggest arcades in the world.

I like the work Chris, the Captain does with the spirt league of orange county.
He's supported them for a long time.

Pins should be starting up by 9pm PST, not sure how long a break they'll take though.

Since they don't have it. I doubt it.

Quoted from Bmanpin:

Is there a PTC available?

No idea. Probably no EFL either.

I have about $20, so I'm ready just in case.

metal maniax was also a steal.

Logic issue on one side, the other side dead.

Not a steal if you never get it going.

That 8 person derby owners club seemed like a good deal for $1700. Don't have the space though

#1819 2 years ago

$1700 for Derby Club seems like a steal.... Maybe? Then again it takes up a huge amount of space fully setup.

Yes I thought the same thing. Hall of fame in Vegas owns a sweet one. Might be the one thought of.

Yeah I had the wrong place. Thats the one, looks awesome, wish it was mass produced.

#1823 2 years ago

Ok, everybody log off and go to sleep, nothing more to see tonight! Spread the word. Are they tired at the auction?

#1824 2 years ago
Quoted from MtnFrost:

Are they tired at the auction?

No. Everybody is pumped up for the pins after the break.

Anyone know when the Polybius comes up? I didn't see any of the MOP basement games in the catalog.

None of the parts or games in storage are in this auction.

4x recent auctions on the Crazy Taxi

#1828 2 years ago

Ok here we go.. first one is Star Wars trilogy with a huge chip on the front left of the cabinet, some black marker can take care of that.

#1829 2 years ago

I expect ANYTHING that ties into any franchise to go super higher.

#1830 2 years ago

This is the closest we will get to pinball fantasy football but without a wager on the line -

Are they taking a dinner break? Camera set up cannot take that long?

Quoted from MtnFrost:

Didn’t you know? They’re using the Pony Express to personally deliver each frame for the stream.

#1838 2 years ago

Yeah, for a moment I forgot what a shit show this has been. From many aspects.

#1839 2 years ago

Wonder if this auction drives a deflation from People looking to make a huge exit in mass and realizing without the hype, fomo auction experience dont get the $ they thought they could.

#1840 2 years ago

War of attrition at this pace.

#1841 2 years ago
Quoted from MtnFrost:

Yeah, for a moment I forgot what a shit show this has been. From many aspects.

I think they're going to be able to live with it on their end.

#1842 2 years ago

What has been the average time per lot today? Slower or faster with the pins?

#1843 2 years ago

Where's Jack Danger?? We need some stream help on aisle 4!!

Quoted from seenev:

I think they're going to be able to live with it on their end.

I don't really care about their end, nobody here does.

#1845 2 years ago

Are they really going to try to plow through 200 more lots tonight? That's going to be a really late night for the east coast.

#1846 2 years ago

Wow 180 more lots, amazing. At this pace? See you all at 5am

I was thinking the same, which is why I was wondering the time per lot has been today. Many people will be sleeping in tomorrow.

From what I've seen, If the price is below $2000, 5-10 minutes. If it's above 2000, 2-4 minutes.
