Back in 1985 my friends and I went to the Downey Minature Golf and Puke to play specificly Thayers Quest, we had no clue how to but we had to try it.
Are internet buyers just buying off a name hoping it’s up and working Becuase the stream drops in the middle of bidding every 1 or 2 games
Quoted from EJS:And they’re back (as the audio fades and breaks up haha)
Where are you watching it? I don't see it on their site or FB.
I talked to a friend that is there now, captains has kicked off all non bidders from the website, and no Facebook or Twitch, and the feed is still crashing.
Yikes.
My guess is that the network signals are bad in that part of the building. YouTube videofeed is running but auction paused at the moment.
Quoted from patrickvc:Says they’re taking a break to fix streaming issues
Where were you watching it?
Quoted from mark532011:dang, I used to love Dragons Lair.. that would be a lot of fun to own
You would think that, until you own one for a while.
Best attract mode for an arcade game, but the replay value is not there.

Yeah they need to get off Wi-Fi and get onto a hardwired connection. Not sure that's possible though...
Quoted from pinlink:At what point is it considered just flat out lying about these games? "Probably an easy fix" "super rare title here" "fantastic shape"
People are getting taken..
Meh, typical auction hype you hear at most junk auctions to build excitement.
We can confirm it is not our network or internet speeds. For this event we brought in T1. This downtime is a result of the auction software. They are working on it now and the auction should resume shortly. Thank you for hanging in there while Captains gets this figured out.
Jillian's Auction program she wrote for our TNT Amusements Best offer Sales seem to run well now...we have gradually worked out all the kinks...and they now stream pretty well with only a lag issue, but we never go off line anymore. She has sold it to someone else who is using it also. Todd

Thank you! And remember kids, always feed Windows at least an hour before going streaming.

Captains runs auctions every month that don't have these problems. It's obviously a location issue.

The rebroadcasts from those services are unlikely to be the problem.
I would guess that the problem is probably the transmission of master feed on their end to the server(s)/service(s).
Quoted from museumofpinball:For this event we brought in T1.
Uh oh....I really hope it's not actually a T1. A T1 is only 1.54Mbps. You basically need 5Mbps minimum to stream in HD.
Quoted from Azmodeus:Saw that and said. Hmm. Never seen that before.
The best part was trying to get the game to produce swear words.

So what is the desirable standard called, these days ? T2, T3 . . . ?
Banning is a dusty hell hole crossroads town, there are multiple abandoned buildings on main street, and I counted four Burned out buildings also on main street Yesterday.
Good riddance, now I never have to go to Banning EVER AGAIN.

T-800 is the first generation Terminator.
T-1000 = liquid metal.
Their 5 minute technical break is going on 30 minutes I assume?
I see some auctioneer comments and dragons lair is at $1400 current bid. Technically they haven’t done that lot yet.

Thanks. Got it. I'll settle for any decent stream that is actually working.
Quoted from Heretic_9:So what is the desirable standard called, these days ? T2, T3 . . . ?
My cable speeds are 1000 Mbps up and 30Mbps down for like $75 a month. T1 is like using carrier pigeons in comparison.

T1 and T3 lines are outdated since they're not considered broadband any more. No such thing as T2 (except in pinball )
Broadband is the catch-all term for most modern internet services.
DSL, cable service, and fiber service are the main transmission services available to most people, and speed can vary significantly depending on the level of service that you're paying for. Satellite service is also available, but it tends to have high latency (so it's not preferable for things like online gaming).
For cable and fiber, you're looking at anywhere between 15Mbps and 1Gbps in most cases.
Fiber service is usually only available in populated areas and as long as you're not too far from a main road.
I'm on a business trip in Europe at the moment and have spent the last two nights in my hotel room following the auction.
Last night I stayed up until 5am and then worked today.
This lag shit is fucking killing me.
If your bored there is a live Texas horse auction on YouTube right now.
Looks like it's at the TPF ballroom by the cover picture.

Didn't know that. Haven't really kept up with the tech standards or terminology. I just recall back when having a T1 line was pretty fancy and rather expensive. But that could have been back in ISDN days.

Yeah, compared to dial-up at the time, it was totally awesome.
Quoted from ForceFlow:Fiber service is usually only available in populated areas and as long as you're not too far from a main road.
I assume you are talking of fiber to the home, and just not transport delivery, as most of that is fiber now.
I must have like a dozen browser tabs open right now. Can we just forget about the FB feed at this point ?
Quoted from Methos:I assume you are talking of fiber to the home, and just not transport delivery, as most of that is fiber now.
Correct--there's a difference between backbone fiber and "last mile" fiber that ends up at a home or business.

Yeah, I know.
FTTH is more prevalent now, but it is a more expensive installation of course.

The last time I was involved with fiber, there was a $1500 installation fee, but that can sometimes be waived depending on the length of the contract you sign.
