WHERE did games come from that I never saw in all the visits to MOP ? ?
I missed their very first, opening event (Arcade Expo #1), and the final 3-day event, but was at all of the others, for the full weekend each time.

The amount of time he takes to hit the gavel and announce sold tells you how much he wants that commission. If it is 18%, each $100 is $18 in his pocket. What a rip.

#1054 2 years ago

"For the Love of Pete", do not let your significant other find out these sales prices.

The Facebook comments are gold…

I proposed marriage on a Lights Camera Action!

Please post here some of the best for non facebook people.

bronze at best

Also seems like some of the luster has faded on the early bids, now we're only 2x pricing before fees.

Watch on facebook. Better feed.

MOP has hundreds of games in storage. Mostly parts games, but some good ones they just lacked the room to put on the floor.

Been watching this auction too long, thinking I should list my TNA butter cabinet for 12k now. Might be leaving money on the table though

#1063 2 years ago

Bit of a delay on the FB (for me) compared to the live auction; but at least its coming through.

Almost everything in the auction I saw at MOP, but its very easy to walk past games because there was just way too many games there, it was just overwhelming.

#1065 2 years ago

Hard to get high bids when the start button won't even start the game!

#1066 2 years ago

JFC QBert isn't even starting and it's at 8k.

#1067 2 years ago

Q-bert is going crazy high

#1068 2 years ago

Qbert for $11000 !!!

#1069 2 years ago

OMFG... I said the same thing as @uncivil_engineer... I'll pick up the scraps in 6 months

#1070 2 years ago

so 10 grand for Q-bert pinball. Ugh... this is not good for Pinball.

#1072 2 years ago

Crazy time. Full-on crazy time. But hey... there is one upside: A lot of people are seeing value in pinball and perhaps games they've never seen before.

#1073 2 years ago

Yeah, after that I'm not even going to watch, I like reading it here better.

What is happening to this hobby

#1075 2 years ago

Let's see what my Excalibur is worth... rubs hands

#1076 2 years ago

people were outraged when I sold mine for $2900

#1077 2 years ago

If Gottliebs are going for this much I can't wait to see the Bally/Williams

#1078 2 years ago

The fluorescent tube is out

#1079 2 years ago

because the tube was out, this is why its selling for next to nothing

#1080 2 years ago

Actually not as outrageous as the other prices so far. Only "bargain" yet

#1081 2 years ago

Excalibur still under the radar

#1082 2 years ago

Spirit best deal so far

#1083 2 years ago

What was Spirit? I had the three on my list, curious

#1084 2 years ago

I've moved on to watching bare knuckle boxing, which is somehow less brutal than these hammer prices.

#1085 2 years ago

I just replaced all the drop targets in HH.

It with for $6300 pre-fees.

#1087 2 years ago

Well I had Black Hole for a bid of 21, and HH same. So much for that.....

I always enjoyed playing BH & HH on my visits to MOP. But there was NEVER any line to play them that I ever noticed. And didn't that System 80 require a bunch of mods to render it fairly stable ? (On BH, in particular.)

#1089 2 years ago

5500 for a Haunted house

#1090 2 years ago

Pink Panther and Rocky... Gonna be nuts. When Ali shows up...

#1091 2 years ago

I thought this auction wouldn't have shill bidders.....

...but there has to be...no one would spend this much on these games? What's the scam?

#1092 2 years ago

I can't decide if this is good or bad for the hobby...

Is this just a bunch of non-pinball people who heard about this on the NYT and decided it would be neat to have pinball game?

#1093 2 years ago
Quoted from killerrobots:

It's bad

#1094 2 years ago

I get that machines are worth whatever you are willing to pay for.... but geez.

I'm starting to wonder if this is a money laundering scheme, or just people with too much money and not enough sense.

It's REALLY bad.

Standard grounding mods, upkicker mod (for kicking the ball up to the main playfield), motor mod (for the backglass animation), and a lamp voltage conversion for some high voltage lamps to bring them down to standard #44/47.

It's not as bad as it sounds.

#1097 2 years ago

A wider window, possibly better video feed on the FB link . . . .

#1098 2 years ago

Rocky?

Holy crap...

#1099 2 years ago
Quoted from ForceFlow:

They're still boring games

#1100 2 years ago

But it seems like a lot of these games you could buy for way less today on Pinside or craigslist? It is like a bunch of people who have no idea how to buy a game and they heard about this and decided to buy one?
