Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:Perhaps you missed where I obviously said I was looking for early 2000s eBay results? Why be so obtuse when I quoted the exact link you uselessly reposted?
For me, it’s claw machines and skee-ball. They make so much you want to laugh and cry. People are suckers.
Vending makes silly money and new locations literally don’t even ask for a split anymore, they just want a vending machine for convenience!
Obtuse is an angle. I just gave you a reply with a link. You are welcome!

Thank you!
I feel like tonight is a pivotal moment for pinball not just in direction of price but also popularly and influence depends who gets their hands on some of these games. I’m definitely excited!
is there a way to see what's expected to come up around what times? Or are they just on lot 350 now and going in order?
Quoted from palmab03:is there a way to see what's expected to come up around what times? Or are they just on lot 350 now and going in order?
It hasnt started yet, I think it starts at 3 pm pacific time or 6 pm eastern time.

live stream seems to be https://www.twitch.tv/captainsauction but it's not live yet, that's just an old auction
Quoted from cosmokramer:I hope the A/C system can keep the building cool today, it may get pretty uncomfortable in there
I looked at the forecast https://www.theweathernetwork.com/us/14-day-weather-trend/california/banning
14 days over 30 Celsius, 0% precipitation for all 14 days. Seems intense.
EDIT:
It's 34 now, 36 on Saturday, 37 on Sunday. YIKES

Start up the auction with this. It’s going to be hot hot hot in more ways than one.
Quoted from D-Gottlieb:I am thinking that some of the EMs will be going for peanuts.
Do they have a Solar Ride EM there? I have an NOS backglass for Solar Ride EM, the very last four player EM gottlieb made. I thought they had one, but I’ve never been there

I'm going to guess that they probably don't have many games on so that might help.
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:Right now it looks like I will be able to attend on Saturday only. However my schedule may put me arriving there after 1100. I think they are going to find there will A LOT of people willing to put down a deposit to attend. I don't think this will bode well for Chris's style of moving from machine to machine during the auction. Today's bidding may be very telling as to how the rest of the auction will go down.
I'm going to use today's results to gauge how the rest of it will go. If it's stupid prices, I'll just online bid and go on with my day, no need to sweat it.
Quoted from EMDude:War room. It’s HOT

You guys need some drinks.
man my only opportunity to setup a beer tent outside and charge like quadruple.. gone. Oh well.

So, how many live bidders are you seeing? Enough to fill those chairs? And I mean one person per chair, for the comedians out there.
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:If most of the buyers are locals, I think the real bargains will come in about 6 months when the people start getting tired of storing the machines they hardly play.
YOU have just presented the "smart money" wager on all this.
Quoted from NicoVolta:<snip, for quote brevity> . . .
I strongly believe pinball + brewery represents its ultimate evolved form... combining a low-profit, high-maintenance attraction with a high-profit, out of the way product with lots of floor space to burn. It's so perfect it hurts. Every brewery should have some pins in it. Enough perhaps to set the public's expectations no matter which one they visit.
Yup. Roger all that.
And we have a plentiful supply of breweries around here. I'm sure in a great number of other places, as well.

I’ll be looking to see (if this is even possible) if a high number of lots start going to one particular bidder.
lets start placing bets on how much machines go for. The first one - THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN PINBALL MACHINE GOTTLIEB
I will bet you 100 bucks itll sell for 420.00

Don't go to Vegas. Auction hasn't started and your out a $100 bucks already.
Quoted from EMDude:The rig is ready, they’ll go down the line in real time and have someone play each game.
[quoted image]
OMG, it's going to take forever. They might have to extend to a third weekend if they aren't gonna "Blahdedooblahalahahlablaah SOLD, NEXT..." this shit.
If you win do you have to pick up the pin on the same day or do you have 5 days? Their instructions were a little confusing.
So a dumb question: are they allowing people to inspect machines during the auction? Like if they are auctioning on the arcade side can we inspect pinballs?

that's a great idea.

The average price for this one is 1800. That means you'd want to bid no higher than about 1500 to buy it for what you can get it for - and they made a lot of these. So, stupid auction price I bet is around 2200, which will cost the bidder about 2700 after fees. This is how I expect most to go for pins that are not EMs.
Final bid guess 2200, which is 2700 total, for a game worth on average 1800, a markup for no value of 33%.

I don’t think so, once 2 hour preview is over people will be in the auction room or on their couches.

I've got $1900 on the Spidey for my guess. Hammer price.

Regular-price drinks are fine. You'll just have to add a "buyer's premium" and some sales tax.
The gavel is about to fall.
