Any help is appreciated - experiencing 2 problems with Bank Shot, add-a-ball from Gottlieb 1976.

Problem #1) When score achieved, have it set to 60,000 points, and a WoW/extra ball is achieved, the WoW doesn't light up on backglass right away, the "knock" does sound but, the solenoid is sticking (humming occurs) on the WoW stepper (am assuming) - until ball drains or goes into a kick-out hole - at which time the humming stops & the WoW lights up on backglass.

Problem #2) Upon last ball draining, when bonus points are awarded, the "knock" sounds, but the WoW light doesn't come on & doesn't award an extra ball. The "Game Over" light comes on instead.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Check your WOW stepper in the back box. I had one that was really gummed up on the pivot points. Be careful if you take it apart as the shoulder bolt tends to break (see nut on backside). They are available now from PBR, but your game would be down until you got that. The white lithium grease they used, freezes up (solidifies) over the decades. It needs to be thoroughly cleaned and re-lubed with modern synthetic 'Super Lube' This may be the solution, but let us know what you have for results.

Thanks Stashyboy....I have tried to clean that stepper as best possible without removing it. Guess I will have to take it apart & clean/lube better. Will give it a try & see if it resolves either/both problems.

The WOW won't light up until the WOW stepper has completed its step. It doesn't complete its step until after the coil de-energizes.

On the schematic, it's called the Add "Lightbox Advance" Unit coil. On the 10,000s score reel there's a switch called the "10,000's Isolation switch" that should be normally open, but when closed, completes the path to that stepper coil (via the AAB/Novelty adj. plug, and the point score adj. plugs and 10,000 score reel wiper).

So it sounds like the 10,000 isolation switch perhaps isn't opening (or back tabs are shorted).

Thanks DirtFlipper....will check that isolation switch and make sure it is clean & working properly too.
