Hi SteveNZ,
Which wire did you remove from the motor? From which motor position (1, 2, 3, or 4)? Which level (A, B, C, D)? What color was the wire?
It may not be the motor but a coil or relay associated with the wire you removed. Trace that wire back on your schematic to see where it ends up. That would be a good start to try and identify the problem.

Sorry, I may have misunderstood your issue. Disconnect both score motor wires and check the coil resistance to confirm it's shorted. If it needs replacement check the specifications on the motor case to be sure you replace it with a motor of the same specs.
