Just curious if anyone knows why there are 2 apron designs for this game. The project Wizard that I just bought has the lighter yellow apron but others have the yellow and black apron with the lines. You see a lot of both designs.
The official flyer shows the yellow and black with the lines so I’m assuming that’s original. I ordered the decal that copies this.

The speculation is that they ordered let's say 1,000 aprons for a title based on anticipating orders for 1,000 pins. Actual orders from distributors were only 900, so they had 100 extras. Just use the 100 extra on the next title. The manufacturers out-sourced almost all of the components in a pin, so it's unlikely that they'd strip the paint from an apron and repaint it. I'm sure Bally did the same thing as Stern back then.
Makes sense for sure. I was thinking that this probably wasn’t an uncommon thing. I’ve seen 2 types of aprons for my Nitro Ground Shaker but they were mostly one design. I just haven’t noticed it on many other Bally’s of that era. Seems to be almost split on the Wizard.

That’s what I figured so I bought the older decal. Trying to be as original as possible.
