How do I set it to free play?

I have read all the posts, I have searched online, and I have even referenced the manual.

I've been fighting with this a little the past few days.

I just picked it up, I couldn't really get it to do anything. It powered on, the lights flashed, the voice welcomed me to the game but would not start. I played with solenoid and switch tests and fixed a few things here and there. The battery was toast, so I then took it out.

After that it started up and I played it for about a half hour before I went to bed. I tried to turn it on this morning and I'm back to where I was.

Any thoughts? I know there are updated ROMs where you can get free play programs, and if I have just missed this information I apologize.

Any help is appreciated.

Buy an Alltek CPU board?

You don't. You can set the 1st replay to a really low number and/or wire the start button up to a credit switch.
