Have an issue with Truck Stop when it boots up, it gives an error stating "right button" then clears itself. The right button tested good but was replaced anyway. This issue doesn't happen every time. It seems to happen 2 or 3 times in a row when booting but then may not happen for another 25 power ups. Any thoughts?
Perhaps the button is gapped just a bit too closely and sometimes contact is made upon start up. Try widening the gap of the leaf switch a bit and see if the problem goes away. Or see if something else is touching it creating a short between the blades.
Of course, thinking about it, if that were the case, I would think you would also get some phantom flipper hits mid game. Still worth checking out.
Is there a capacitor across that switch? Some are used to prevent arcing. If that's starting to die, it can cause random detects from the MPU
This is the extra Cherry switch that piggy backs on top of each flipper button. They are a click type switch not a leaf style switch. The left and right switch allow you to put your initials in the game for high scores. Just a simple circuit. The switch was replaced with new and a fresh diode added. The schematic didn't show a cap on it.
