Nice looking TTR!

After a good cleanup and going over, the reveal should be well worth the effort!

Cabinet looks really good! Can you confirm that cabinet and backbox were painted and not decaled? (I'm assuming painted from the factory like my TTR.) Just curious if this was the last painted machine by Bally. My Atlantis, the very next game manufactured, has factory decals on both cab and backbox.

I’m retracting my painted comment. Pretty sure it’s decals. What say you?

Well, I'm wondering about that too now!

Hard to say from pictures but wherever there is a scuff or scrape on mine, it shows layers of colour underneath. I don't know if decals were made that way or whether it was painted? I know that Williams was mix and matching painted/decaled cabinet/backboxes around the time of the Bally merger, ~1989, as with Bad Cats. Maybe it's the same with other Bally/Williams games of that era?

Rubber rings…. This seems to be tricky as there’s some uncertainty. I went with what came off for the most part and what came with the kit. The kit comes with what you see short one 27/64 which goes near the spinner. I saw others had one there so I added one too. It had some others originally here (3) but they were all stacked up and clearly not right.

The ones I’m concerned with are the flower pot posts and what to put where. There’s all’s these here on left by the RES targets. Originally it had one 1” and one 5/16” but others have went with just one 1 1/4”.

Any thoughts or what you may have done on your Transporter the Rescue ?

Nice work and glad to see another red cross over ramp!

As far as rings and posts go, mods to my TTR strive for a blend of colour and lighting effects in the three main areas of the playfield:

- Below the cross over (the yellow zone), I used clear posts and yellow leds (allowing more light to the lower playfield), clear bands on red transparent flippers and translucent rubbers. One teal transparent post for accent is to the left of the RES targets where I used one ring for more protection from the steel wall edge. I like the translucent rubber as it allows for more lighting to get through and takes on the look of a glow stick (pretty cool looking in the dark!)

- Above the cross over (the red zone), I mainly used red posts, translucent rubber and red leds. The red bumper caps are lit with red 'fire' leds for an awesome dynamic swirling effect! Red competition sleeves are on the cross over ramp and near the CUE targets, with double black inverted barrels flanking the X target. The third yellow flipper with a red band blends in well to the surroundings.

- The Orion spaceship, bumper surrounds and crossover ramp flashers are tied together as a blue zone.

- The art blades are well done and enhance the look of the game without appearing out of place. Yellow leds help illuminate the art work on the blades, as too many reds can really darken things. To that end I installed a yellow led light and fixture in the hole below the plastic in the upper left corner of the playfield.

Sorry but need to ask, Where did you get the blades?
Mike

The art blades are from Retro Refurbs.

But no MRS on the bowl

Sounds like a good plan and is going on the order list!
