The sling switches were polished up by hand after adding new coil labels and reassembly with new sleeves. New foam was installed to replace the old, dirty and worn out stuff.

The pop bumpers got new labels and fully rebuilt.

It is freaking hot out today!

Found that all flippers should be 11630’s so he had another new spare so added a new coil wrapper and it’s ready to go.

Upper playfields are ready other than plastics. New switches were installed, the one hacked up insert bulb was fixed, and several stripped underside playfield holes were filled with skewers and glue. There’s been several throughout I’ve done.

The ramp switch has been installed and the shooter lane received new clear tubing to replace the not so clear tubing.

The switches are all done. I had some “help” from the supervisor but she was laying down on the job.

The trough and one insert lamp got removed diodes and clear tubing. The idea is to keep this mostly original but rebuilt with new where possible to make it play like new.

Flipper assemblies are now laid in along with the one drop target bank. I still need to replace one opto so I’ll order them and get it installed after.

Ok… there’s a few things I can do.

I wrapped up the flipper soldering and added in the caps. I cleaned up most of the wiring too but will wait until it’s in and installed before a final tidy up.

The other drop target bank was installed. The new opto interrupter will be here Friday so I’ll put the board back on when I have it. I also adjusted them to be just shy of level with the playfield. It’s hard to capture it in the pics. It’s very important and gets missed. Too high and you’re getting air balls and other problems. Too low and the playfield may get chipped up or worn quickly.

Here’s the Sonic M&M Creations fipper bat in black. I personally like it over the yellow. Looks really nice! We’ll be installing the MRS switch from them soon too.

The interconnect board was repaired and new connector assembled after the hack. Previous repair had lifted the trace so the back side has a jumper now.

While in the cabinet, I pulled out the knocker to rebuild it.

Knocker was cleaned up and installed. New rubber stop and coil sleeve.

We unhacked the power box as much as we could. The electrical tape was replaced by a proper rubber grommet.

Whose coil wrappers do you use?

Maybe chrck with jeff at classic arcades on the drop target decals? That small work seens to be the best he has (in terms of repos not being so far off).

And to the cabinet decals comments… they used vinyl coated wood they screen printed on. So the vinyl layer can be pinched and torn like decals… but takes alot more wear to do so. The glued vinyl was alot more durable than the applied decals that came later.

The crossover ramp arrived so got it ready. I took the advice from the club thread to tap the two holes for 6-32. It worked great!

Installed the Sonic M&M custom fit MRS switch. This should let the ball whip around. I have one on my creature and it makes a big difference. It looks cleaner and they make them plug and play too.

New rubber posts are installed onto the tumbled posts. Tidied up the wiring and popped in some LED’s so this one is good to go.

Rubber rings…. This seems to be tricky as there’s some uncertainty. I went with what came off for the most part and what came with the kit. The kit comes with what you see short one 27/64 which goes near the spinner. I saw others had one there so I added one too. It had some others originally here (3) but they were all stacked up and clearly not right.

The ones I’m concerned with are the flower pot posts and what to put where. There’s all’s these here on left by the RES targets. Originally it had one 1” and one 5/16” but others have went with just one 1 1/4”.

Any thoughts or what you may have done on your Transporter the Rescue ?

Nice work and glad to see another red cross over ramp!

As far as rings and posts go, mods to my TTR strive for a blend of colour and lighting effects in the three main areas of the playfield:

- Below the cross over (the yellow zone), I used clear posts and yellow leds (allowing more light to the lower playfield), clear bands on red transparent flippers and translucent rubbers. One teal transparent post for accent is to the left of the RES targets where I used one ring for more protection from the steel wall edge. I like the translucent rubber as it allows for more lighting to get through and takes on the look of a glow stick (pretty cool looking in the dark!)

- Above the cross over (the red zone), I mainly used red posts, translucent rubber and red leds. The red bumper caps are lit with red 'fire' leds for an awesome dynamic swirling effect! Red competition sleeves are on the cross over ramp and near the CUE targets, with double black inverted barrels flanking the X target. The third yellow flipper with a red band blends in well to the surroundings.

- The Orion spaceship, bumper surrounds and crossover ramp flashers are tied together as a blue zone.

- The art blades are well done and enhance the look of the game without appearing out of place. Yellow leds help illuminate the art work on the blades, as too many reds can really darken things. To that end I installed a yellow led light and fixture in the hole below the plastic in the upper left corner of the playfield.

- The Orion spaceship, bumper surrounds and crossover ramp flashers are tied together as a blue zone.
- The art blades are well done and enhance the look of the game without appearing out of place. Yellow leds help illuminate the art work on the blades, as too many reds can really darken things. To that end I installed a yellow led light and fixture in the hole below the plastic in the upper left corner of the playfield.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

The art blades are from Retro Refurbs.

Quoted from ManyQuarters:

It looks great but it's not my machine to dictate colors. He wants to keep it rubber/original. We went with the orange flower pots at the target and black flower pot by the CUE.

The opto was replaced so drop targets are done. Two pop bumpers caps needed trimmed so wrapped them up. Went with red LED’s but may switch to CW or WW once it’s set up and they’re happy. Test fitted ramp to make sure everything fits well.

Big thanks to TaylorVA as he sent back the rails. He now has a template, when he can start up again, to make new rails for this.

The new plastics had arrived so they’re starting to get placed. This set includes plastic protectors which is awesome. And they fit perfectly so you don’t have to open them up. Really liking them so far.

Now that the rails are on, I have installed all the posts. Some didn’t come clean through the tumbler so a hand job gets them cleaned.

Noted the post lengths.

Started removing the “bells” at the flipper return frames. I drill them out just enough to break the tip free from the plastic.

These are the couple of plastics that needed drilled and riveted. I used SEMS screws and nylock nuts for the one rear left plastic. It’s more serviceable and doesn’t interfere with anything below.

Most of the plastics installed other than the ship.

The top side is all done. Wrapped up what seemed like a 100 of those bells. Fixed the hack slotted screw with a correct one. Like most machines, this has its share of “substituted” screws. Corrected on installation.

Looks like the new plastic set is also missing this piece between the two pops under ramp.

It's interesting to see the wear caused by the improper upper flipper - the flipper you had originally didn't have the all important c-clip that keeps the flipper from dragging on the playfield....glad to see you have the proper flipper in place now!

(Love the bowl MRS too!!!)

Thanks to Pinfest, the owner was able to pickup the correct power box so that got replaced tonight. It’s finally unhacked in the cabinet.

Verified the coin door switches for menu are fine. Need to troubleshoot further before introducing the playfield.

Some good news with the service door switches not registering. Despite my other Sys11 machine in the garage’s coin door also having a bad couple switches (even tried it first), jumping the switches at the board proved a wiring or switch issue. As the previous owner left a new switch bank, the answer was always there. Swapped it in and we are now good to go.

First fire up is thankfully drama free. GI, coils, switches and insert lighting is 100%.

Some things that needed attention immediately (and fixed):

Right sling switch closed so needed to re-gap.

Flipper bats came loose. (I’ve broke so many cranking too hard so I try not to muscle.)

Left lower pop super touchy so needed to mind the gap.

Middle ball trough switch wire was sticking. I needed to tweak the wire to not hang up.

Some things after a few games that needed tweaked were the pop bumper switches, ship switches, and the start button switch. Otherwise, it is playing slick with super snappy flippers. There isn’t much left to do but to play it and shake it down for some issues.

What a fun game with cool sounds and call outs. There’s a lot in this machine. Drops, spinners, ramps, 3 flippers, multi-ball, kickback, etc. And the bowl reminds me of CFTBL but you can get some serious spins out of it with Sonic MRS switch. Highly recommended and love mine in my Creech.
