Ya, its me again....

with yet another newbie question..

My TAF sounds like crap and I put ten seconds of thought into it the other day and decided to go for a speaker upgrade. However while that short ponder lasted I did a brief check of the speakers (i imagined they had dried out/cracked/seized up over all these years) but it seams like the only sounding speaker is the left front one (the first to get fed from the sound card). A quick soundboard check (one beep ok...) later and a swift browse through the tests it all "looks ok" on that side.

Aside from: the wiring from the soundboard (via top left speaker?) to the cab-base speaker and the right speaker

What else to look for troubleshooting ( a crapped up speaker should make some kind of noice if fed with a signal)?
