Quoted from altan:

I don't know how well known this is, so I thought I'd share. I can say that this info is not what comes up when you search.
Perhaps it's even in this thread, but my search didn't bring it up.
Historically ColorDMD with LCD has caused some trouble for game with unique lights on the backbox, such as Addams Family ("*THING*"), Congo and Dr. Who. This is because the LCD display took too much space, not allowing the original light PCB board. There have been various solutions that require effort or money.
However...
Sometime "recently" (I don't know when), the ColorDMD team updated the mounting bracket so that no other solutions are needed. You can now mount the LCD high enough that it doesn't get in the way of the *THING* PCB.
What's the negative? Then LCD now sticks up too high and doesn't allow the backbox door to swing open unless you remove the speaker panel. That's not a big deal and certainly a fine tradeoff IMHO.
Here's a couple pictures showing this setup.

If you buy a Pin2Dmd instead you cut your costs by 50-75% and don't have this issue at all.

Does anyone know if the double flipper snap at end of ball is triggered by the sound card and not the MPU ?

This thread seems to indicate that : https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/addams-family-end-of-ball-flipper-snap-not-activating

I currently have a TiltAudio card in mine (sounds great), but haven't seen the flipper snap in 20-30 games or so.

Quoted from Coyote:

This I believe, as the MPU is the one that tells the Fliptronics board to 'activate' the flippers, not the soundboard. The MPU would tell the sound board to play the sound, then tell the Fliptronics board to flip the flippers. With Pinsound's processing and wav-handling, it could be off / audio-sync delay.

Yeah, seems reasonable to me.

Guess I'll have to play a cople of low score balls and see if I can trigger the snap.

Quoted from Pin_Fandango:

Is mirko still having PF issues with current clear coats?
Have not seen many complaints on toy story, too new?

I have had no issues with playfields for Black hole, TAF and TZ.
The Funhouse one, though, has flaking and chipping.
I suspect there was a period with bad clearcoat adhesion which seemingly has become better.

Quoted from Santis:

Hi. New to to the club just got mine still solid cabinet but it will need playfield restoration or new playfield. Those new playfields to whoever installed new in their game. Are they good ? Or what do you recommend? Thank you.

3 years after installing a Mirco playfield it is still going strong with no cracks or flaws, so I am happy.

Quoted from JvdS:

Pinsound on a TAF is great, work 100% and different downloads for different versions are available at pin sound. No glitches found here

Do the flippers (sometimes) automatically move in time with the last two notes in the end of game music as they do with the original sound board?

Quoted from JvdS:

So what part i wrote is not correct. All thanx for the reply’s but i’m not sure where the ‘no’ stands for…

If you mean NO as related to a switch, it means normally open.
The opposite is NC - normally closed.
This refers to the switch in the resting (not activated) position.
